In Michigan a church was rammed and gunfire followed. Four are dead; two were shot. The attacker, a 40-year-old former Marine, was killed by police. Gasoline started the blaze, ATF says.

In Nashville, Nicole Kidman says she and Reese Witherspoon will bring more production. She praises the crews and local talent. Big Little Lies won’t shoot there. Kidman has lived in Nashville since 2008 and expects growth.

At the Labour conference, Christopher Hope handed out Union flags to MPs and delegates. Most were pleased. Steve Reed said the left embraces the flag. He says his Labour card is the Union Jack and they are proud of their country.
