Breitbart: Trump Admin Proposes Ending Biden Rule Allowing Abortions at VA
The Department of Veterans Affairs has proposed a rule to reverse a Biden-era policy that allowed taxpayer-funded abortions for veterans in certain cases. The new rule, which will undergo a 30-day public comment period, states that abortions would only be permitted when the mother’s life is at risk.
The VA argues that the previous policy was legally questionable and strayed from over two decades of precedent. Under the proposed rule, the focus is on providing necessary medical services to veterans, emphasizing that abortions are not considered "needed" services unless the mother’s life is endangered.
