Gladys Bakken, an 84-year-old pensioner from Liverpool, faces a bitter struggle with the city council over a tree damaging her property. The roots have caused significant destruction, including a fall that necessitated hip surgery.

Feeling ignored by a slow-moving council, Bakken's frustration boils over. She is determined to voice her anger, ready to tell the council "where they can shove it." 

The council acknowledges the problem but insists that legal procedures must be followed before any solutions can be pursued regarding the tree.
