Le Monde: Chinese police crack down on young women writing homoerotic fiction
Chinese authorities have intensified their crackdown on danmei, a genre of romantic fiction featuring male relationships, often with explicit content. This follows the arrest of numerous female authors amid concerns over foreign influences and challenges to traditional societal norms.
The genre, inspired by Japanese "Boys' Love," has gained popularity among female readers in China and abroad. However, the government's strict regulations against erotic content have led to increased scrutiny and repression of writers in this field.

Michael Bernard Bell, convicted of the 1993 shooting deaths of Jimmy West and Tamecka Smith, is scheduled for execution by lethal injection in Florida. He was sentenced to death in 1995 after using an AK-47 in a revenge attack, mistakenly believing West was involved in his brother's death.
Bell's attorneys have filed appeals citing new evidence, but both the Florida and U.S. Supreme Courts have rejected these claims. If executed, Bell would be the eighth person put to death in Florida this year.
