Daily Wire: NYC Mayor Eric Adams Sues 30 New York Counties For Refusing To Accept Foreign Nationals
New York City is suing 30 counties over their refusal to house foreign nationals who’ve entered the U.S., claiming it is preventing them from responding to a statewide emergency. Mayor Eric Adams wants policies set by the counties to be invalidated. The lawsuit could lead to a move for court action to prohibit counties from enforcing their policies.
Fox News: Oregon cracks down on pollution, garbage left behind by illegal marijuana farmers
Illegal marijuana growers in Oregon are causing pollution, garbage and water depletion around the state. A bill recently passed by the Oregon Legislature would make landowners accountable for the aftermath. The bill also prohibits the use of rivers or groundwater at the illegal sites and criminalizes seizing the identity papers of migrant workers who tend the plants, or threatening to report them for deportation. If the owner of the property does not pay for the cleanup, local governments are authorized to file a claim of lien against property used for illicit marijuana.

Spectator USA: The Trump indictment will be destabilizing, no matter what
Former President Trump is facing indictment for keeping classified documents, which he may have intended to use for a future book of score settling. While he cannot argue that he did not know the documents were classified, he can argue that he is being unfairly targeted by his enemies. This unprecedented step of indicting a former president for hoarding secret material may cause a loss of faith in America's law enforcement bodies. It invites ruthless people willing to bear such attacks in pursuit of power. The GOP is tired of losing and wants to win desperately this cycle.
The Epoch Times: Trump Can Run for President While Being Indicted: Here's the Main Reason Why
Legal experts say that former US President Donald Trump can still run for president in 2024, even though he announced he is being indicted on charges relating to mishandling classified records. While some have noted that Trump could run and serve from jail, the US Constitution only sets out the requirements that a candidate be a natural-born citizen, at least 35 years old, and a resident of the US for at least 14 years. There is no law that stops someone who has been indicted, or even convicted, from running for office in the US.
On Thursday, August 11, Trump announced via social media that he was being indicted on charges relating to allegedly mishandling classified documents. His lawyer said the indictment includes charges of willful retention of national defense information, obstruction of justice, false statements, and conspiracy. Trump has denied the charges and has called it an attempt to interfere with the 2024 election. There is no evidence that charges have actually been filed against him yet.
The Babylon Bee: 'The U.S. Is Not A Banana Republic,' Says Biden While Showing Off Cool New Uniform
El Presidente Biden denies that the U.S. is a banana republic despite using his administration's power to prosecute a political opponent. He shows off his new flashy uniform covered with medals while gunfire goes off in the background. Media outlets praise Biden's impressive look, and sources say his political opponent, Donald Trump, is being held responsible for the crime of having classified documents. Trump claims to be the most persecuted person alive, and sources say he is scheduled to disappear mysteriously next Tuesday.
The Blaze: Biden jokes about bribery allegations — then GOP lawmaker makes him regret it when she answers his wisecrack
Rep. Nancy Mace spoke out against President Biden's inappropriate joke about allegations of corruption against him, urging him to release his family's bank records to disprove the allegations. Mace listed the names of companies Republicans believe were used as shell companies by the Biden family to conceal money received from foreign nationals. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer had previously stated that the committee obtained bank records that showed these allegations of shell companies to be true. In addition, Fox News reported that an executive at Burisma Holdings told the FBI's source that he had directly paid Hunter Biden $5 million. The White House denies any wrongdoing.
The New American: 'Recognizing Life Resolution' Declares Right to Life Begins at Conception - The New American
Representatives Doug Lamborn and Debbie Lesko have proposed the Recognizing Life Resolution, which seeks to extend the protection of human life to the fetus from the moment of conception. The resolution has garnered 21 supporters and relies heavily on the 14th Amendment to make its case. It seeks to enact legislation that would secure equal protection for unborn children and preserve the sanctity of life, but also seeks to avoid prosecution of women for causing the death of their unborn children.
The Right Scoop: Hillary Clinton takes a disgusting victory lap after Trump’s indictment
Hillary Clinton taunts Trump with a new 'BUT HER EMAILS' ball cap, while critics accuse her of gloating over her own crimes. Double standard is highlighted as Trump is indicted for far less crimes than Clinton, who deleted and scrubbed evidence from her rogue email server. Disgusted by her continued protection from the Democrat deep state, Americans call her a "disgusting human being" who hates them.
Red State: Bill Barr Rips Jamie Raskin Again, Dismantles Democrat Talking Points About Biden Bribery Allegations
The Biden bribery scandal is gaining attention, with allegations that Hunter and Joe Biden received $5 million each in exchange for actions Joe took as vice president. Joe Biden denied it and reporters pressed him on the issue. Meanwhile, former President Trump has been indicted in a classified document matter and Democrats are trying to dismiss the bribery matter as about Rudy Giuliani's allegations. Bill Barr has refuted their claims and called for an investigation into the Delaware probe regarding Hunter Biden.
National Review: The Corner: Romney: Trump Brought Indictment Over Classified Documents on Himself
GOP Senator Romney says Trump brought indictment on himself by taking classified documents and refusing to return them. Other Republicans are rallying behind Trump.
Audio recording shows Trump acknowledging he kept classified documents on attacking Iran and did not declassify them. Trump says the documents are "highly confidential" and "secret."
Flag And Cross: Trump Faces 'Fight Of His Life,' Says Ex-Federal Prosecutor: 'Consequences Are Going To Be Much More Severe'
Donald Trump faces a serious challenge with the recent indictment in the Mar-A-Lago probe, and is likely to be charged with more severe infringements than in his Manhattan case. Elie Honig, a former New Jersey and federal prosecutor, said Trump has been under investigation and indicted previously on several charges, but this one by the Justice Department is different. The DOJ has more resources and the conduct here is apparently much more significant. Trump's legal team claim he has been indicted for mishandling classified documents, and has been summoned to appear at the Miami federal court on Tuesday.
Newsbusters: Joe Scarbough Fakes Sorrow for 'Extremely Sad' 'Bleak Day' of Trump Indictment
Joe Scarborough and Chuck Rosenberg discuss the potential prison sentence facing Donald Trump if convicted on federal criminal charges. George Conway dissents from Scarborough's assertion that this is a "sad day," instead calling it a solemn, momentous, and significant day. Conway criticizes the Republican party for their support of Trump, whom he calls a "brazen criminal" who violated the Espionage Act. Scarborough adds to this sentiment, stating that Trump's supporters do not care about the violations and that it would be at the top of a list of grim things on this day.
The Epoch Times: After SPLC 'Extremist' Designation, Moms for Liberty and Ramaswamy Come Together in New Hampshire
Moms for Liberty, a parental rights organization, has been labeled an “extremist group” on a hate map by the Southern Poverty Law Center, prompting a response from the group’s co-founder. Co-founder Tiffany Justice, who appeared alongside Vivek Ramaswamy in a New Hampshire church, said: “The Southern Poverty Law Center is also now providing the blueprint used by even the police state, like the FBI, which collaborates with the SPLC”. The FBI leaked a memo citing the SPLC’s link to so-called “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists,” and later disavowed it. The biotech entrepreneur and activist investor Ramaswamy is polling behind DeSantis and Trump in the New Hampshire primary race.
National Review: Conservatives Need a Better Strategy
Conservatives must make fundamental changes to their political and philanthropic strategies to reverse America's state of decline, which includes inflation, rampant crime, and social experimentation occurring in schools without parental knowledge. Republicans fell short in last year's midterms due to Democrats' advantages in election mechanics and developing narratives that influenced the "magic middle" of swing voters. Conservatives must compete more effectively in these areas, including developing a conservative ecosystem to push back against the liberal ecosystem and using actual victims of bad government policy to tell their stories. Ultimately, fundamental changes are needed to preserve freedoms and ensure prosperity for future generations.

The Economist: Ukraine’s assault in Zaporizhia may be the focus of its offensive
Ukraine's counter-offensive in the south of Zaporizhia province may be their biggest yet, with German tanks, American armoured vehicles, and Ukrainian brigades committed to the area. Military experts believe this strategy could trap large numbers of Russian troops, reducing their capacity to defend Kherson province and Crimea. While the situation is still unclear, if Ukraine can get to the key city of Melitopol, it could strike at Russian road and rail supply lines running westward to Crimea. However, experts warn that the advance would be difficult and costly, with Ukraine's flanks exposed to Russian attacks and Russia's air force using long-range "glide bombs" to attack advancing columns.
In addition to the attack in Zaporizhia province, Ukraine's army commander is attempting a pincer movement in Bakhmut, and Russian lines are now becoming better protected. The army's initial attacks in Zaporizhia may be intended to force Russia to send its scant reserves into the second and third echelon of defence, creating gaps elsewhere. Due to historic flooding caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, Ukraine may also find it easier to cross the river into eastern Kherson. While this operation is still in the early stages, journalists were asked to leave the area on June 8th, indicating heavy fighting.

Washington Free Beacon: Senate Advances Bill That Would End Biden’s ‘Developing Nation’ Handouts to China
US legislators have taken steps to strip China of its developing nation status at international organizations by approving the "Ending China's Developing Nation Status Act" in a Senate committee. If passed by the full Senate, the bill would require the secretary of state to pursue changing China's status as a developing nation in international organizations. The move comes as US lawmakers seek to compete with China, which some argue has been afforded special privileges as a developing nation in some organizations and treaties. The Senate panel also passed the "Taiwan Protection and National Resilience Act," which would require US government agencies to detail options to prepare and respond to a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

Forbes: Tesla Mints $205 Billion Rally After Ford And GM Charger Partnerships—Here's How Much More The Stock Could Surge
Tesla's Supercharger network opening to General Motors electric vehicles has resulted in a fresh eight-month high for Tesla shares, which jumped by 6% to $249 on Friday morning. According to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, this new deal could create a “large monetization opportunity” for the company, potentially adding $3bn in new revenue from General Motors and Ford’s EV users. This segment is actually far less profitable than Tesla's broader business, with its 8% gross profit margin during 2023’s first quarter weighing down the company’s broader 20% pre-tax margins. Furthermore, this is considered a modest incremental positive for Tesla’s valuation, rather than a large-scale driver of further growth for the automaker.
The Epoch Times: Moving From New York City to Miami Can Save Nearly $200,000: Study
New York high-income earners can save almost $200,000 per year by moving to Miami, according to a recent report by SmartAsset. The study compared the cost of living and tax rates in New York City, Chicago and San Francisco with those in Miami, and found that high-earning individuals could benefit from Miami's lack of state income taxes. However, those making $650,000 per year in Manhattan would only save just above $10,000 by moving to Chicago. Smart asset also listed Miami on a list of cities suitable for high-income migration.
