A military veteran explains how he and other Americans unwittingly coopted into a leftist culture war against Trump, sparked by a growing anti-Muslim rhetoric that arose after the 2015 Republican primaries. Praising the meritocracy he experienced in the US military, he laments how the "edicts of the state" increasingly govern America more than individual agency and merit, leading to a "neo-Marxist cultural revolution". He compares America to Iran where a meritocracy does not exist and ideas of individual merit and personal agency are dismantled, resulting in a totalitarian system.

Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz stated that most of the indictment against former President Donald Trump alleges conduct that has "no difference" to what others have done, but there are a couple "damning paragraphs" that Trump or his legal counsel will have to explain. There are two damning paragraphs in the indictment, where they have tape recordings of the former President basically acknowledging that some of the papers that he possessed and showed to a writer- where he allegedly showed information about a plan to attack Iran.

Borne's declining popularity is attributed to France raising the retirement age from 62 to 64, and her reportedly out-of-touch attitude towards the needs of the French people. Bonte's book also suggests that Borne may be a lesbian and suffers from an eating disorder, which has prompted the prime minister to sue the publisher for invasion of privacy.
