The Federalist: Russiagate Redux: Grassley Calls Out FBI For Leaking Lies
Russiagate Redux: Grassley Calls Out FBI For Leaking Lies
Sen. Chuck Grassley criticized FBI Director Christopher Wray for obstructing congressional oversight and leaking false narratives about the agency's handling of allegations of a criminal bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden. The allegations reportedly detail a Ukrainian energy concern seeking to pay then-Vice President Biden $5 million in return for a policy decision during his time as Ukrainian point man for the Obama administration. Grassley accused the FBI of leaking classified information to friendly media outlets and producing documents to the media, instead of complying with constitutional oversight requests. Grassley referenced several examples of FBI leaks, including a May 18 article in The New York Times, by Adam Goldman, that he thinks was sourced to the FBI.

The Self-Defeating House Conservative Rebellion on Gas-Stove Legislation
Eleven Republicans voted against a bill they support because of the disappointing debt-ceiling deal, joining most Democrats to block a procedural vote to advance legislation prohibiting gas-stove bans. Speaker Kevin McCarthy managed to get President Biden to agree to a deal ahead of schedule to avoid a possible default, but many Republicans voted against it, with 71 in the House and 31 in the Senate opposing it. The House should focus on inhibiting Joe Biden’s agenda, and Republicans should block any efforts to prohibit gas stoves.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and Donald John Trump: More in common than you might think
In the style of Raymond Chandler: Two men, Robert and Donald, embody the American spirit of self-expression, individuality, and entrepreneurship. Although their family histories differ, both represent what America used to be, what it ought to be, and what it can still be. Robert, a Kennedy, fights against censorship and plutocracy, while Donald, a businessman, champions production and truth over political correctness. They are both populists who protect civil liberties and free markets, and have the potential to become the next president of the United States.

American Thinker: When did the Left go from Standing up to ‘The Man’ to becoming ‘The Man’?
When did the Left go from Standing up to ‘The Man’ to becoming ‘The Man’?
The left's bogeyman in the 60s and 70s was The Man, which represented oppression and authority figures. However, as Baby Boomers took prominent positions in society and government, they became The Man themselves. From Clinton to Obama, government agencies were weaponized against political opposition, with the media and corporations controlling the levers of power. Elected Republicans, many Boomers themselves, have been silent in their acquiescence to the new Man's tyranny.

Fox News: Australian man sentenced to 9 years in 1988 death of gay American man after 35-year battle for justice
Australian man sentenced to 9 years in 1988 death of gay American man after 35-year battle for justice
Australian man Scott Phillip White has been sentenced to nine years in prison for the manslaughter of American man Scott Johnson, who was punched off a cliff top in Sydney in 1988. White had originally pleaded guilty to murder and had been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison before having the conviction overturned on appeal. The victim's brother Steve Johnson and his wife offered a $667,000 reward in 2020 for information about his brother's death, leading police to launch a criminal investigation into historic gay hate crimes. The case helped trigger a state government inquiry into police indifference toward such crimes.

In 2017, a third inquiry ruled that Scott Johnson had been attacked by an unknown assailant or assailants because he was perceived to be homosexual. Although they could not find enough evidence to show the attack was motivated by Johnson's sexuality, Beech-Jones, the judge presiding over the case, could not rule out that possibility entirely. During his sentencing, he remarked that "answers to numerous other questions about how he died, why he died and what happened...some of those answers will never be provided." Johnson's Boston-based older brother, wealthy entrepreneur Steve Johnson, fought to get police to launch a criminal investigation since a coroner had ruled in 1989 that his brother had taken his own life, and has campaigned for justice ever since.

National Review: The Global Inequality Gap Continues to Narrow
The Global Inequality Gap Continues to Narrow
Despite claims of rising global inequality, a new research paper by the Cato Institute found that the worldwide inequality gap is actually shrinking. The Inequality of Human Progress Index (IHPI) shows a decline in overall global inequality across income, life span, infant mortality, nutrition, environmental safety, education, internet access, and political freedom since 1990. While clear gaps in living standards persist, the world is not only better off than many people think but is also becoming more equal.

Liberty Nation: Who Blew Up the Kakhovka Dam?
Who Blew Up the Kakhovka Dam?
An explosion occurred at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (KHPP) in southeastern Ukraine, causing extensive damage to the dam and flooding nearby villages. Kiev and Moscow both blamed each other for the destruction. While Russia claims that the Ukrainians caused the disaster to distract from their failed counteroffensive, experts find it implausible and argue that the attack is consistent with Russia's playbook to degrade Ukraine's infrastructure. The flooding protects the "limited" Russian troops on the east side of the riverbank and harms Ukraine's ability to market its agricultural products. The destruction also benefits the Russian strategy of bringing Ukraine to its knees by destroying its critical infrastructure.

ANALYSIS: Is the US Economy Headed for a 'Soft Landing'?
Recent reports suggest that the US economy may be heading for a "soft landing," where inflation falls back to target and a recession is avoided. While two reports show that the economy is cooling, fears of a hard landing are abating, supported by data points and opinions from figures such as Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. Although some believe that the current debt crisis and banking turmoil will have a negative impact on the future of the economy, others believe that there is enough liquidity to withstand any potential strain. However, the World Bank has slashed its economic growth forecast for the US economy in 2024, warning that the resilient US consumer is about to weaken "substantially."

Forbes: The World’s Largest Energy Companies In 2023: The Rise Of Aramco, ExxonMobil And The Rest
The World’s Largest Energy Companies In 2023: The Rise Of Aramco, ExxonMobil And The Rest
Saudi Arabia's partially privatized oil company, Aramco, has become the world's most profitable company, earning $156 billion in profits last year, up from $105 billion the year before due to high oil prices. Despite a significant amount of its profits being funneled towards the government and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's projects through siphoning, Aramco is investing with China's Rongsheng Petrochemical to build a plant and breaking ground to create another Chinese petrochemical complex that will use Saudi crude. At OPEC meetings, Aramco is represented by their energy minister where their interests are managed to bring long-term revenue to the Kingdom and manage a 'goldilocks' pricing for oil that does not push people towards electric vehicles.

Prince Abdulaziz, the energy minister of Saudi Arabia, announced that the country would be making a unilateral cut of 1 million barrels per day to stabilize oil prices and prevent underinvestment. ExxonMobil's CEO, Darren Woods, is not so worried about the ups and downs of price cycles as long as the company can keep its costs per barrel of oil below $35 to focus primarily on finding and manipulating hydrocarbons without venturing into wind, solar or electrons. MBS appreciates his technocrats and encourages Aramco's growth and diversification by acquiring companies in different industries, including refining, chemicals and low-carbon startups, to give the company a futuristic vision and to continue his projects such as the Neom city and the Red Sea coast.

Forbes Global 2000: China’s Ranks Thin As Real Estate Woes Persist
China has 346 spots on the Forbes Global 2000 ranking of the world’s top publicly traded companies, five fewer than last year. The country has the second largest number of companies on the list, after the US which has 611 members. State-controlled banks, including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, led the way. Among the country’s biggest gains, China’s electric vehicle (EV) supply chain did well. Contemporary Amperex Technology, the world’s largest supplier of EV batteries, rose to No. 121, up from No. 298 last year, while BYD, the country’s largest EV maker, jumped to No. 170 from No. 580.

Fox News: Fentanyl test strips being legalized across country in an effort to combat overdose deaths
Fentanyl test strips being legalized across country in an effort to combat overdose deaths
Cleveland barbershop owner Waverly Willis has been giving out free fentanyl test strips for years as part of health education provided by the Urban Barber Association. Deaths from opioid overdoses have surged since 2016 with 75,000 of the almost 110,000 recorded in 2022 linked to fentanyl. Recently, Ohio and other states, including Kansas, have decriminalised the strips as they become seen as potentially life-saving tools to detect the substance in cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and other drugs. Advocacy groups believe widespread decriminalisation will help reduce overdose deaths and provide opportunities for more funding, public campaigns and distribution of strips.

The Epoch Times: How to Reduce Fluoride Exposure and Toxicity
How to Reduce Fluoride Exposure and Toxicity
In this series, The Epoch Times investigates the risks of water fluoridation and how to minimize exposure. Richard Sauerheber, a research scientist and former National Institutes of Health principal investigator, highlights that the toxicity of fluorides varies based on factors such as solubility, with synthetic fluorides such as fluorosilicic acid being fully soluble and thus potentially more toxic due to the higher dose available. Calcium plays a crucial role in minimizing fluoride assimilation and acts as an antidote to accidental acute fluoride poisoning by counterbalancing or neutralizing its toxic effects after ingestion. Furthermore, the toxicity of fluoride is also influenced by whether fluoridated water is found in a soft-water or hard-water region, with soft water offering less protection against fluoride toxicity.

National Review: Florida Judge Overstates the Case for Child Transition
Florida Judge Overstates the Case for Child Transition
A federal judge in Florida blocked Florida's ban of puberty blockers and hormonal treatment from applying to three minors seeking medicalized gender transition. The judge justified his decision by defining gender identity as a deeply felt internal sense of being male or female, distinct from sex, and saying that it's a real phenomenon. However, experts in other countries have concluded that gender-affirming treatment on minors is not safe, being an experimental field. Despite this ruling, future litigation is to be expected, as the judge has oversimplified the concept of gender identity.

Biden Offers Trudeau Support to Tame Canadian Wildfires as Air Quality Issues Persist
The U.S. has offered extra support to Canada to help tackle over 400 wildfires, including over 200 considered “out of control,” raging across the country. President Biden has directed the deployment of "all available Federal firefighting assets" following a call with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau. Over 600 U.S. firefighters, support personnel, and equipment have already been deployed. The wildfires, prompted by hot, dry weather, have burned over 3.8 million hectares (roughly 9.4 million acres) with thick smoke impacting air quality, particularly in eastern parts of the U.S.

SCOTUS Curbs EPA: The Sackett Case
The US Supreme Court has ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) exceeded its power in seeking to control the use of a Sackett family’s land, but failed to address the constitutionality of the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts. The EPA faces criticism for exceeding its powers and bullying property owners, but has enjoyed broad support from a public that largely sees the agency as trying to protect citizens against environmental damage. The EPA is seeking to reduce carbon dioxide emissions under the Clean Power Plan, something the Trump Administration opposes.

Investigation results over the cause of Colorado’s worst wildfire to be revealed
A destructive wildfire that swept through the suburbs between Denver and Boulder, destroying nearly 1,100 homes and killing two people, has been blamed on heavy winds, drought, and fast-growing development. Authorities investigating the cause are expected to announce their findings on Thursday, with potential causes including old coal mines, power lines, and human activity. The disaster has been called the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history, causing an estimated $513 million worth of damage. Experts warn that similar events are likely to become more common due to climate change and construction of homes in fire-prone areas.

Woke 'New York Times for Kids' delivers radical gender, racial politics to children
The New York Times for Kids section, aimed at readers aged 8 to 13, has come under scrutiny for promoting far-left ideology such as gender dysphoria and non-gender-conforming children. Parents could be surprised at how different puberty lessons have become since they were kids, with a lot of content based on transgender ideology. Children are told to reach out to a “teacher, school nurse, or counselor” regarding puberty changes, and kids whose parents are on board are encouraged to seek "a provider who can help your family explore the range of gender-affirming care that’s available, including medical care." The New York Times for Kids section often pushes LGBTQ ideology to children, and the 1619 Project created by New York Times writer Hannah-Jones is also featured.
