The Epoch Times: California's Gov. Newsom Proposes 28th Amendment to Limit Gun Rights, Impose 'Assault Weapons' Ban
California's Gov. Newsom Proposes 28th Amendment to Limit Gun Rights, Impose 'Assault Weapons' Ban
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has proposed a 28th amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would raise the minimum age to purchase a firearm, implement a universal background check, impose a reasonable waiting period, and bar civilian ownership of “assault weapons”. The amendment would maintain the 2nd Amendment and respect America’s gun ownership tradition. Newsom said the Constitution allows for a more perfect union, so the proposed amendment aims to enshrine common sense gun safety measures supported by those of all political parties, including gun owners. Democrats and gun violence survivors endorsed Newsom’s proposal, however, gun rights advocates criticized it as an attack on the Second Amendment.

The Economist: The Supreme Court says Alabama’s electoral map is discriminatory
The Supreme Court says Alabama’s electoral map is discriminatory
Supreme Court rules Alabama's electoral map violates the Voting Rights Act of 1965, prohibiting states from drawing district boundaries based on race. The decision gives Democrats brighter hopes in five House seats for 2024. Chief Justice Roberts, who had previously weakened the VRA, wrote the majority opinion and stood by "racial consciousness" to redraw district lines and protect minority communities. Two conservative justices joining the decision may indicate a less rightward tilt for the Supreme Court.

Biden Melts Down During Presser When Asked About Bribery Allegation, Gives Unbelievable Answer
Joe Biden's mental fitness for the job was once again called into question after he forgot parts of questions and appeared to be reading off cards during a press conference. When asked about corruption allegations, specifically Rep. Nancy Mace's claims that he sold out the country, he smirked and dismissed it as "a bunch of malarkey." The Republicans have evidence of foreign nationals giving money to the Biden family, including to his son Hunter, who made $4.8 million from a deal with China. Biden denied this and claimed he is honest, but he has been caught in demonstrable lies before.

The "Gutfeld!" panelists mocked Licht's only notable accomplishment as firing Don Lemon, with Kayleigh McEnany suggesting the tagline "where you go to commit career suicide" for CNN. Greg Gutfeld suggested that Licht was fired for spearheading the Trump town hall, which brought in viewership, but did not cater to CNN employees suffering from "Trump derangement syndrome." Fox News co-host Todd Piro claimed that Licht tried to make CNN a more fair and balanced network, but got run out by the "inmates running the asylum."
