American Thinker: Start At The Local Level To Stop Corruption In The Federal Government
Start At The Local Level To Stop Corruption In The Federal Government
Corruption is a constant temptation with power, and foreign corruption receives much anti-corruption attention. Corruption occurs in the US federal government and local governments, and accountability must come from the ground-up. California has created an "anti-pay to play" law and implementing an Ethics Commission, hiring an Ethics Officer, or an Inspector General can police local politicians. Unbiased citizen oversight committees chosen with sound ethics and proper debate skills are required to make concise periodic reports, combating corruption and bureaucracy. Increased local participation in governance is critical to prevent political corruption.

American Thinker: A Government at War with Its People
A Government at War with Its People
Governments promote falsehoods cloaked as official truths and target ordinary information that citizens share among themselves for classification. The cult of expertise has given us "disinformation experts" who tell us what is real and monitor what people say, stigmatizing those words and thoughts as deserving of censorship. This war directed against Americans' minds has been raging for quite some time with lies about a range of topics.

The Epoch Times: GOP Lawmakers Voted Against Debating Bill to Protect Gas Stoves After Threat to Debt Ceiling Package: Rep. Norman
GOP Lawmakers Voted Against Debating Bill to Protect Gas Stoves After Threat to Debt Ceiling Package: Rep. Norman
Rep. Ralph Norman and 10 other House Republicans voted against debating a bill to prevent a ban on gas stoves, in part owing to a threat related to the debt ceiling legislation. Norman claimed that one member was threatened if they voted against the bill, they would take down specific rules. Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde had put forward a pistol brace rule but it was taken off the calendar because someone didn’t vote the right way. The vote to bring the bill to protect gas stoves to debate came in at 206–220, making it the first procedural vote to fail in nearly two decades.

The Epoch Times: EXCLUSIVE: China Sold Off Millions in Land and Property Ahead of UK's Register of Foreign Entities
EXCLUSIVE: China Sold Off Millions in Land and Property Ahead of UK's Register of Foreign Entities
China Investment Corporation (CIC) sold off over 60 pieces of land and property across England last year ahead of the release of Britain’s first register of overseas entities. Experts say the move by China could signal that it no longer sees property in Britain as “safe money.” Companies House filings show that CIC still owns a huge chunk of Britain’s distribution network, but it used a government grace period to sell off huge swathes of land across the country before having to declare its assets under the new Economic Crime Act. The new register of over 32,000 foreign entities now aims to show who the real owners behind big buys in Britain are.

China’s biggest sovereignty fund also continues to buy up distribution depots, warehouses, industrial parks, and trading estates across the north and south of England using an off-shore Luxembourg company called Redwood (Light Industrial) Propco S.A.R.L. Documents released by Companies House show that in the north of England, it owns an £11,960,000 enterprise park in Crewe, Wigan. In Warrington, it owns a series of industrial units to the tune of £4.7 million, while in Wigan, it leases the well-known Haslemere Industrial Estate for £5.2 million. Speaking about China's recent UK property and land disposal and investment, Andrew Collier, managing director at Orient Capital Research, said that they may have decided to cut its losses under Britain’s new economic spotlight, and that China is over lent throughout the system, so they would be interested in probably monetizing their assets.

Moms for Liberty co-founder torches SPLC's 'extremist' label: 'We're not going to stop'
Moms for Liberty is labeled an "extremist" group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for being anti-government and preventing officials from conducting proceedings at school board meetings. Founding member Tiffany Justice calls the label "absurd" and believes it is an orchestrated effort to suppress parents’ voices in public education. Moms for Liberty aims to unify and educate parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.

American Thinker: You can't ‘Perestroika’ CNN
You can't ‘Perestroika’ CNN
CNN's attempt at restructuring, led by Chris Licht, has come to an end after 13 months marked by controversies. The network faces low ratings, with only 494,000 viewers in primetime in May, and needs major changes to attract new audiences. Similar to how Perestroika failed to save the USSR, the next leader of CNN may learn that fixing a news channel that can't stop talking about former President Trump is a difficult task .
