Daily Wire: Josh Hawley Grills Leftist Biden Judicial Nominee Who ‘Defended Discrimination On Basis Of Religious Belief’
Josh Hawley Grills Leftist Biden Judicial Nominee Who ‘Defended Discrimination On Basis Of Religious Belief’
Senator Josh Hawley grilled a Biden judicial nominee, Loren AliKhan, over her past legal work where she advocated discriminating against religious people. Hawley pressed AliKhan on her argument that religious people posed a greater risk of infection than people gathered to argue for defunding the police. AliKhan claimed that she didn't use scientific evidence in her arguments because "those were fast-moving cases and they weren't going to full briefing and full summary judgment with a record." For this reason, among others, Hawley said he will not support her nomination.

Rep. Ryan Zinke rips politicians 'complaining' about smoke in DC, blames fires on lack of forest management
Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., called out politicians who are "complaining" about Canadian wildfire smoke on Capitol Hill, but "won't allow" for forest management in western states across the U.S. Zinke said the unhealthy haze is "a reminder that our forests need to be managed." Proponents of the environmental movement say "climate change" and a warming planet "make these disasters worse." Republicans believe forests need to be managed through logging, forest thinning to reduce fuels, and controlled burns.

Mike Pence surprises with dignified and politically brave presidential campaign rollout, addressing Trump's conduct and disgrace of January 6; acknowledges Trump's unworthiness for the job, but faces challenge in relitigating January 6. Running on solid conservative values, supports America's role in world abroad, and seems like decent man on gut level, but feels like man out of time and aesthetics of his campaign long gone. Grasps nettle directly, linking his candidacy to contrast he provided to Trump as vice president on pathetic January day; confronts manifest failures of man who elevated him, earning respect in Shakespearean quality candidacy.

GOP rebels want 'commitments in writing' from McCarthy to end standoff, Freedom Caucus member says
House Republicans want written assurances from Speaker Kevin McCarthy that conservatives will have more say in legislation after their trust in him was "shattered" over the debt limit bill, according to Rep. Ben Cline. Members of the hard-line House Freedom Caucus and their allies have accused GOP leadership of exacting revenge on one member who tried to block the bill from coming to the floor by scuttling his own firearms legislation. Cline indicated that he too was dissatisfied with how the debt limit compromise was handled.

Fox News: Arizona sheriff praises RFK Jr. for visiting border: 'Spent more time down here than our border czar'
Arizona sheriff praises RFK Jr. for visiting border: 'Spent more time down here than our border czar'
Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited the southern border in Yuma County, Arizona, and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for not doing enough to address the crisis that has negatively impacted the community. Kennedy described the conditions faced by migrants as "unsustainable" and pledged to make the border impervious if elected president. He also called for fixing the policies that have caused this mass migration, including decades of U.S. foreign policy that have imposed austerity on those governments and encouraged the rise of the Junta military dictatorship that has trained and supported death squads in countries across Central America.

Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot commended Kennedy for his visit, stating that he saw the crisis firsthand by witnessing crossings from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. He added that Kennedy met with various members of the community impacted by the crisis, including a local hospital CEO, food bank representatives, and the mayor. Wilmot criticized Harris for only visiting the border once since taking office in 2021 and not doing enough to secure the border and create a fair and humane system. The Yuma border sector saw over 124,000 migrant encounters in FY 2023 (Oct.-April), according to CBP data, and Wilmot described the environmental catastrophe caused by the dumping of pharmaceuticals, IDs, passports, and trash along the river corridor.

Joe Biden: You’re “hysterical and prejudiced” if you’re against sex change for kids – [BONUS: Biden asked about taking BRIBES]
Joe Biden used a pre-selected list of reporters during his press conference and accused those who oppose sex change hormone therapies and surgeries for children and boys playing girls’ sports as ‘hateful’ and ‘prejudiced’ . He defends laws targeted at someone’s children by saying "They're not somebody else's kids. They're all our kids." However, many people disagree with his stance. Biden also claims that he ended the ‘band’ on transgender troops and used the outdated acronym LBGT .

Finally, when asked about bribery allegations, he jokes by saying "Where's the money? It's a bunch of malarkey."

The Onslaught of Digital Tyranny
Christine Anderson, a member of the European Parliament representing Germany's Alternative for Germany party, spoke to Jan Jekielek on American Thought Leaders about government oppression during the COVID-19 pandemic and the possibilities for a digital dictatorship. She noted the dangers of allowing governments to have too much power and control over people, warning that a totalitarian regime with technological means at their disposal could lead to enslavement of all people. Anderson also criticized the anti-democratic institutions of the EU, calling for Germany to leave.

The New American: Why Our Founding Myths Matter—and Why the Left Wants to Destroy Them
Why Our Founding Myths Matter—and Why the Left Wants to Destroy Them
The Left is attempting to rewrite America's history by portraying it as a story of oppression and genocide, all in an effort to socially engineer a controllable populace and destroy the West's Christian tradition. Founding myths and histories influence a people's character and future, and the individual and society are both strong and prosperous when they think well of who they are and where they came from. The Left's plot is against human nature, and must not be allowed to win the war for history.

National Review: Democrats Are Taking an Enormous Risk
Democrats Are Taking an Enormous Risk
The Democrats are taking a risk by betting on Joe Biden for the 2024 presidential election. Although the Republicans' ongoing political suicide has made Biden the favorite, his policies have failed, he is widely disliked and regarded as too old and untrustworthy. The Democrats are banking on Biden as their best hope against Donald Trump, but there are concerns about his age and decline in mental acuity, and a younger Republican candidate could pose a challenge. Given the high stakes, both parties are taking a gamble, and the ultimate outcome remains uncertain.

Biden Administration Accused in Parliament of Stopping UK Action Against Iran; US Denies
A Tory MP has urged the UK government to ignore US pressure to proscribe a military arm of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which Brendan Clarke-Smith claims poses "immediate threats" to the UK's domestic security. The MP led a debate in parliament on why the home office hasn't outlawed the group, five months after unanimous cross-party support to do so. The IRGC has been accused of numerous kidnap and death plots on British soil, with fifteen planned terror assassinations already foiled by MI5. Despite these concerns among MPs, Foreign Office minister Andrew Mitchell has so far refused to confirm the government's intention to proscribe the IRGC.

'Squad' Dems refuse to say whether Biden should debate 2024 challengers before primary
Progressive Democrats known as "the Squad" did not comment on whether President Joe Biden should participate in primary debates against his Democratic challengers before the 2024 presidential election. The Democratic National Committee recently stated that there would be no debates before the Democratic presidential primary, despite concerns over the strength of Biden's re-election campaign. Historically, no incumbent president has ever entered into a primary debate, but this decision has prompted backlash from voters and declared Democratic presidential candidates who have challenged Biden to debates. Self-help author Marianne Williamson expressed frustration with the lack of debates and argued that the fate of democracy is at stake.

The Epoch Times: The Misconstrued Virtue
The Misconstrued Virtue
Humility is an essential virtue that comes from understanding our place in the larger order of things. It has nothing to do with meekness or weakness but instead is an attitude of spiritual modesty. Humble leaders are willing to listen to others and share credit, filling the gaps with the help of others, and they view themselves as servant leaders. Humility enhances relationships with family, friends, and can brighten the sheen of talent. Ultimately, staying grounded and keeping egos out of the way while confidently bringing our gifts and capabilities to perform at our best wherever we are is what will keep us humble.

Coinbase CEO's War Cry After SEC Sues Crypto Exchange: 'We'll Get The Job Done'
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is standing his ground in a legal battle with the SEC over the definition of securities and commodities. Armstrong criticized the SEC's "regulation by enforcement" approach and expressed confidence in both the facts of the case and the law. He called on the industry to continue innovating and assured that America will eventually reach the right conclusion on this issue. The ongoing ambiguity has led to the introduction of new legislation by the US Congress to resolve these issues surrounding cryptocurrency regulations.

Armstrong also pointed out the SEC's contradictory statements on the definitions of security and commodity, and mentioned that Coinbase is willing to go to court to gain clarity on regulations around cryptocurrencies. He noted the unique nature of the lawsuit, which he said is solely focused on the definition of securities, and emphasized that Coinbase refrains from listing securities because of the lack of a clear registration path. The industry has been under fire since the fall of FTX, and the ongoing legal battle reflects the global trend toward establishing clear rules to support this evolving technology.

The piece of oak, which is over three feet long and has “intentional cut marks”, is believed to be some 2,000 years older than Stonehenge. Analysis by Historic England’s academic partners dates the Boxford Timber to 4640 to 4605 BC, meaning it dates to the Middle Stone Age when about 1,000 Britons would have been living together in temporary settlements. The find has been donated to a museum.

Dogs and Humans Don't Share Cold Viruses
A boy is worried that his cold will spread to his puppy, but dogs cannot catch human colds. A cat with black specks in its fur likely has fleas as the specks are flea dirt, which is actually the cat's blood that the fleas have excreted. Fleas can cause anemia in pets, transmit diseases to cats and humans, and should be eliminated with flea control products recommended by a veterinarian. Pets should be protected year-round from fleas, which can be brought indoors by humans or other animals. Severe infestations may require treating the home and yard as well.

Winning: School Cancels ‘Full-Blown Drag’ Child Event After Backlash
New Mills School in Derbyshire has cancelled its LGBTQ+ Pride Day amid backlash over reports that children as young as 11 were encouraged to dress in “full-blown drag”. The school had reportedly encouraged all students to wear something rainbow or colourful, and offered free drag stations to allow them to “fully express themselves”. The senior leader of the science department, Thomas Robertson, said that the school believed “drag is an art form that is fundamental to the LGBT+ community”. However, following the backlash and press coverage of the event, headteacher Heather Watts cancelled the day, citing concerns over the possible impact on students taking GCSEs that day.

The inclusion of controversial Drag Queen Story Hour UK head Sab Samuel speaking to students about mental health in relation to homophobia has also been criticised by parliamentarians and Safe Schools Alliance UK spokesperson Tracy Shaw, who said that the parent’s group was “extremely concerned” about the invitation of a drag queen to discuss suicide with children, a “sensitive” topic that should only be discussed by those with rigorous safeguarding and mental health training. Tory MP and head of the Commons education select committee, Robin Walker, added schools should be “sensitive to the views of parents” and not overstep what they consider appropriate.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom Proposes 28th Amendment Restricting Gun Ownership—But Effort Seems Certain To Fail
California Governor Gavin Newsom proposed a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution that would limit gun ownership and enact a national ban on assault rifles. The amendment would raise the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21, institute a waiting period, mandate universal background checks, and ban civilian purchases of assault rifles nationwide. However, the amendment faces long odds as it would need the support of 34 state legislatures, a number that is unlikely given that Republicans, who typically oppose gun control measures, control most state legislatures. Despite this, Newsom plans to fund a campaign to rally other states to support the proposed amendment using his leftover 2022 reelection campaign money.
