The American Spectator: Fox Must Stop Its War Against Tucker
Fox News has accused former prime-time anchor Tucker Carlson of breaching his contract by launching his own Twitter show. Fox's breach of contract claim sets it up to explore potential legal action against Carlson, who had a mammoth following. Carlson’s lawyers told Axios that any legal action by Fox would violate his First Amendment rights. Going after Tucker Carlson in this fashion hurts — Fox, not Tucker. This kind of obsessive craziness is not helpful to the larger conservative movement.
Newsbusters: Cuomo, Taibbi SLAM Trump Indictment: Reminiscent of the ‘Third World’
Former President Trump has been indicted for willfully holding onto classified documents. Chris Cuomo and independent journalist Matt Taibbi cast doubt on the charges and criticized the Department of Justice's actions, suggesting they were like something you would find in a third-world country. Taibbi felt that any charges directed at a person in Trump’s position needed to be an extremely serious and airtight case, and that both of these cases failed on both of those points. Cuomo chided investigators for going after Trump with what seems to be at or below a level of anything that would be impressive to people reviewing the documents.
Fox News: DeSantis says Trump a victim of law enforcement 'weaponization' under Biden
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, considered Donald Trump's biggest rival for the 2024 GOP nomination, condemned the "weaponization" of federal law enforcement for political bias after the former President was indicted on charges of conspiracy, obstruction, and handling classified documents. Other GOP candidates also weighed in on the issue, with Senator Tim Scott pointing out that the scales of the justice system seem to be weighted, calling for the purging of injustices and impurities, while former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie maintained that Trump's announcement highlights his reliance on social media. Asa Hutchinson called on Trump to end his campaign, adding that the ongoing criminal proceedings would be a "major distraction."
The American Spectator: Tucker on Twitter Proves That Carlson Needed Fox
Tucker Carlson's new Twitter show fails to impress fans, focusing on conspiracy theories and playing a doctored video. The inaugural episode flirts with topics, including the alleged mysteries surrounding 9/11, Jeffrey Epstein, and the JFK assassination, as well as diving into UFOs and extraterrestrials. In contrast, Carlson's Fox News show was widely popular for its unique perspective and captivating storytelling.

Forbes: Lewis Black Talks Writers Strike, New Special
Lewis Black has released his latest comedy special, "Tragically, I Need You," on YouTube, where it has received almost a million views in a month. This move came after streaming services such as Netflix declined to pick up the special, forcing Black to maintain ownership instead. Black's segment, "Back in Black," on The Daily Show earned him widespread acclaim in the late 90s and he has continued to adjust to the self-promotion age of comedy.
Black's decades-long career in comedy had humble beginnings opening for folk singers in Washington, DC. After honing his skills and persona, he would become a contributing commentator on The Daily Show and continue to release specials. Black believes that the current writers' strike is due to changing technology and the rise of streaming services, with residuals and payment structures needing to change as a result. He cited the example of receiving significant compensation for a single episode on The Big Bang Theory due to residuals, which he believes could change with streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon.
The Epoch Times: GM to Invest $500 Million at Plant That Makes Large SUVs in Arlington, Texas
General Motors is investing over $500 million in its Texas plant, preparing for the next generation of big SUVs with internal-combustion engines. The plant will receive new equipment for metal stamping, the body shop, and general assembly. No new jobs will be created, but the current workforce of over 5,200 people will remain. GM has committed to sell only electric passenger vehicles by 2035, but will continue making internal combustion vehicles as long as they sell. The investment is contingent on reaching incentive agreements with local governments.

The $110m is more than three times the $30m received by winners of the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.

Hiking & Fishing: Cotton Kills: Why? What You Need To Know
Cotton is a beloved fabric in the fashion industry but is not ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and camping. Cotton is absorbent and not moisture-wicking, which can lead to hypothermia and slower cooling in warm weather. It is better to wear merino wool, synthetic fabrics or fabric blends, which are light, moisture-wicking and insulating.

The Epoch Times: Portland City Council Approves Daytime Camping Ban
The Portland City Council passed an ordinance banning camping during the daytime amid a homelessness crisis. Homeless individuals may camp in non-restricted areas overnight, but must dismantle their camps each morning, with a third violation resulting in a $100 fine or 30 days in jail. Enforcements are set to begin in late July, with prosecutions giving alternative sentences. Portland currently has hundreds of unsanctioned camps, with over 5,200 people homeless according to point-in-time count data. The new restrictions may help increase shelter availability and services. Portland residents overwhelmingly supported efforts, with over 70% of voters surveyed supporting the daytime camping ban proposal. The decision on the camping ban comes less than a week after the city agreed to clear its sidewalks of sprawling homeless camps under terms of an Americans with Disability Act lawsuit settlement.
