The Federalist Papers: RFK Jr. Shames Biden: Goes to Border and Exposes Impact of Unfinished Wall
RFK Jr. Shames Biden: Goes to Border and Exposes Impact of Unfinished Wall
Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited the southern border to assess the illegal immigration crisis firsthand. RFK met with law enforcement, illegal migrants, local government officials and charities dealing with the mass influx of people in Yuma, Arizona. He called Biden’s policies "unsustainable" and a "dystopian nightmare." According to Kennedy, people from 117 nations have come across the border in the last couple of years, and over 7 million people have come across the border illegally in total in the past three years. He noted that many of the illegal migrants are abused as they make their way to the border. Kennedy also met with farmers from the region, pointing out that Yuma County provides 90% of the green leafy vegetables to American tables between November and April, and the tsunami of migrants walking across farm fields threatens the safety of that food supply.

Newsbusters: MSNBC's Claire McCaskill Mocks Trump In Ankle Bracelet, DeSantis in 'Snow White' Boots
MSNBC's Claire McCaskill Mocks Trump In Ankle Bracelet, DeSantis in 'Snow White' Boots
MSNBC analyst Claire McCaskill took shots at both the field of Republican candidates and Donald Trump on Morning Joe. She referred to the Republican candidates as the "Seven Dwarfs" and cast Ron DeSantis as "Snow White" implying he was secretly gay. McCaskill then took a shot at Trump, inviting Jon Meacham to comment on the report that the Justice Department was targeting Trump in a federal investigation. McCaskill's dream of Trump in an ankle bracelet is up there with the fired MSNBC host Tiffany Cross's fantasy of Trump being "dragged out on the White House lawn like a 1980s episode of Cops."

Fox News: Native American leaders rebuke Biden admin over oil leasing ban: 'Undermines our sovereignty'
Native American leaders rebuke Biden admin over oil leasing ban: 'Undermines our sovereignty'
Navajo Nation leaders are heavily criticizing the Biden administration for its action last week banning oil and gas leasing that will impact tribal members who rely on leasing the land for income. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland finalized a ban on fossil fuel leasing within 10 miles of the Chaco Culture National Historical Park, near San Juan County, New Mexico, while Navajo leaders have argued it will wreak economic devastation on members who rely on leasing the land for income. The decision "jeopardizes future economic opportunities" and places thousands of Navajo allottees in "dire financial constraints," said Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren.

The ban amounts to a withdrawal of approximately 336,404 acres of public lands from mineral leasing near Chaco Canyon site. There are 53 Indian allotments located in the “10-mile buffer zone” around Chaco Canyon, generating $6.2m per year in royalties for an estimated 5,462 allottees, according to Navajo Nation data. In addition, there are 418 unleased allotments in the zone that are associated with 16,615 allottees. Navajo members will lose an estimated $194m over the 20 years the action is in place, according to Western Energy Alliance, an industry group that represents oil and gas producers in the area.

Tucker Carlson's Lawyer Responds to Fox News Contract Breach Allegations
Fox News accused Tucker Carlson of violating his contract by debuting his new Twitter show, “Tucker on Twitter,” on Tuesday night. His attorney, Bryan Freedman, responded by stating, “Fox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds. Now they want to take Tucker Carlson’s right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events.” A letter from Fox News’ counsel, Bernard Gugar, was sent to Carlson’s attorneys stating, “In connection with such breach and pursuant to the Agreement, Fox expressly reserves all rights and remedies which are available to it at law or equity…Mr. Carlson’s ‘services shall be completely exclusive to Fox.’” Some conservative influencers and journalists, including Glenn Greenwald and Rogan O’Handley, have called for a boycott of Fox News in response to the development.

The Epoch Times: Ottawa School Board Tells Teachers to Use They/Them Pronouns for All Students in September
Ottawa School Board Tells Teachers to Use They/Them Pronouns for All Students in September
An Ottawa school board has instructed staff to use they/them pronouns for all students until told otherwise, and embed teachings about LGBTQ identities into the “overall learning environment,” with “2SLGBTQ+ learnings” not open to debate or selective participation. The board saw high levels of absences on the first day of Pride Month. Some parents kept children home due to pride events, others due to a heat wave and ahead of a P.A. day, and some parents indicated they didn’t want their children to attend school due to pride events. School boards across the country have seen debates over age-appropriate discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity, with the Ottawa board previously experiencing protests over biological male students using girls’ washrooms and changerooms.

Washington state equity director fired after complaints of racist comments, fat-shaming colleague
Washington state's Office of Equity director Karen Johnson was fired amid accusations of creating a hostile work environment and being racist towards Mexicans and her Hispanic coworkers. The investigation found her management style to be biased by stereotypes on race and gender and insensitive towards her employees. The accusations led to Johnson being given the option to resign or being terminated, with her office telling KTTH that the dismissal was due to high employee turnover, budgetary concerns, and a lack of stability.

Newlyweds shamed by social media users for advertising Venmo username on car window: 'Why not?'

A resident of suburban Seattle spotted a vehicle with the phrase “Just Married” and the couple’s Venmo username, which was later anonymously shared on a wedding shaming forum on Reddit. Various Reddit users argued that while it may be considered tasteless, sharing payment account usernames is a growing trend for those celebrating life milestones such as weddings, graduations, and birthdays. Etiquette experts urged people to avoid advertising their payment accounts before and after the event.

Russian soldiers are now reportedly breaking into and occupying the flooded houses of locals.

The Epoch Times: When China Goes to the Moon, We Will Need Lunar Defense Systems
When China Goes to the Moon, We Will Need Lunar Defense Systems
China’s lunar exploration program is advancing, with officials confident they can send people to the moon before 2030. Chinese and US space agencies are both interested in the same 10-13 lunar landing locations on the south pole of the moon, which is viewed as an important strategic objective with potential for minable lunar water ice. However, as China prepares to build its manned moon bases, its method of arriving on the moon could threaten US moon bases. China’s new moon landing vehicle presents a possible hazard, sufficient to consider the deployment of defensive weapons on the moon.

The Epoch Times: US Applications for Jobless Benefits Highest Since October 2021
US Applications for Jobless Benefits Highest Since October 2021
The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits rose to its highest level since October 2021, but experts are reluctant to draw conclusions as the weekly figures are prone to revision and could have been distorted by the Memorial Day weekend. The labor market remains healthy as Americans have enjoyed job security, despite the Federal Reserve's campaign to cool the economy and labor market to prevent high inflation. Though there have been signs that the Fed's actions are working, the job market continues to favor workers. The unemployment rate rose to 3.7 percent in May, the highest since October. The U.S. economy grew at a lackluster 1.3 percent annual rate from January through March. Recent notable layoff announcements included those by tech companies IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce, Twitter, Lyft, LinkedIn, Spotify, and DoorDash, while Amazon, Facebook parent Meta, McDonald's, Morgan Stanley, and 3M also announced layoffs.

The Epoch Times: Uber to Offer Car Rental Services in US
Uber to Offer Car Rental Services in US
Ride-hailing service Uber is launching a car-sharing programme in select US cities, enabling vehicle owners to lend out their vehicles at daily or hourly rates. The Carshare venture is initially to be available only in Boston and Toronto but will expand if it proves successful. Initially owners will be encouraged to follow Uber’s recommended pricing, while they will have the final say on availability and final pricing of their cars. "Uber has an unprecedented ability to bring car-sharing to the mainstream unlike any other company in the market today," said Camiel Irving, Uber's general manager.

Car-sharing provides flexibility and a personal vehicle option for renters looking to drive without the commitment of owning a car. Meanwhile, owners who participate in sharing can balance back some of the costs of their invested vehicles by making extra gains. However, renting also causes the wear and tear of cars, potentially increasing maintenance costs, while liability concerns leave opportunity for insurance or legal issues if there is an accident with a renter. Uber has had success with car-sharing in Australia, and the move into the US will bring about even more growth for the ride-hailing company.

Wind Knocked out of New Zealand Flatulence Tax as Opposition Withdraws Support
New Zealand's proposed flatulence tax has been derailed after the National Party withdrew its support for the legislation. The He Waka Eke Noa initiative, which involved farmers calculating and paying individual methane and nitrous oxide emissions, rather than relying on national averages, had been developed by agriculture leaders and the government. The scheme was intended to help reduce New Zealand's greenhouse gas emissions, with Agriculture Spokesperson Todd McClay calling it "dead", though Federated Farmers' acting president, Wayne Langford, called it "sleepy, not dead".

Amazon Prime's new docuseries, "Shiny Happy People," vilifies Christian values, homeschooling, and big families. The series focuses heavily on the Duggar family and the Institute of Basic Life Principles (IBLP), which have been accused of abuse and victim-blaming. However, the series goes on a bizarre tangent in the last episode, attacking all Christian social media influencers and warning against homeschooling children getting involved in politics. The message is clear: Christians who have been educated outside of public schools are too dangerous to be part of the US government or political process.

A Baby Has Three Genetic Parents
Doctors at the Newcastle Fertility Centre in the UK have used genetic experimentation in an IVF procedure to create a baby with DNA from three people. The groundbreaking mitochondrial donation treatment, aimed at preventing babies from inheriting conditions such as Leigh or Kearns-Sayre syndromes, involves the injection of healthy mitochondrial cells from a donated egg into a fertilised egg. While the UK has approved the procedure, the US has banned it due to the unknown health risks. The potential negative side effects of the treatment have been highlighted by some writers.

Why does London have so much sexually transmitted disease?
London has the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the UK, with nearly 83,000 cases of gonorrhoea and the highest rate of syphilis in the country. The city's young and fast-growing population with large social networks and the prevalence of dating apps are contributing factors. The figures highlight the need for improved sexual-health education targeted at gay and bisexual men to combat the spread of STIs.

The Corner: Is the Plan to Impose a Public-Health Technocracy Faltering?
A treaty allowing the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare pandemics and impose public-health policies is being negotiated. The International Court of Justice would centralize pandemic planning and response and the WHO could control discourse, and potentially eviscerate intellectual-property rights. However, the treaty’s mandatory nature has now reportedly been watered down. The agreement allows for “provisional” membership pending a nation’s formal ratification. Technocrats don’t rely on mandates but impose policies that render society less free, as seen with states in the U.S. banning gas stoves.

The inquiry into Britain's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic begins with the task of establishing facts, consoling the bereaved, and drawing lessons. Led by retired judge Heather Hallett, the inquiry will examine almost the entire British state, with the most anticipated hearings focusing on the political decisions made by Boris Johnson and his inner circle. The challenge of obtaining evidence, particularly related to electronic communication, has already caused some controversy. The inquiry's success in achieving its three objectives remains uncertain.

The prosecution now has less than 60 days to determine whether they will pursue the death penalty. Families of the victims have reportedly requested it. The defendant was found with separate zip lock bags of personal trash and medical gloves on the day of his arrest; the trash was being removed from his home to conceal his DNA.

Delaware bills promoting greater public accountability and transparency clears Democratic House committee
Two bills which would increase transparency in police misconduct investigations have been passed by a Democrat-led committee in Delaware. Under the proposed legislation, police would be required to disclose investigation findings regarding sexual assault, dishonest conduct, domestic violence, and weapons use. The government would be forced to report police departments which failed to meet accreditation standards by July 2028. However, critics argue that the bills still fall far short of what is necessary for adequate police reform and are too favourable to law enforcement.

Republican Lt. Governor of Virginia Drops Truth Bomb on Democrats Following Graduation Shooting
Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears is not shy about supporting the Second Amendment. In the wake of a shooting at a high school graduation, she called for an end to gang violence and said that taking guns away from law-abiding citizens would not prevent shootings. Democrats criticized her for focusing on gangs instead of guns, but Earle-Sears said her remarks were a call to action and not political. She urged people to find out why children are shooting each other. "Lock up the criminals responsible" — it’s almost revolutionary to say that in 2023.

There is growing concern from beef and dairy farmers in the UK that an eco-modernist agenda is underway to do away completely with conventional meat altogether. Meanwhile, British livestock farmers are being paid for net carbon sequestered into the soils by implementing regenerative farming techniques that allow livestock farmers to help mitigate climate change by sequestering carbon in the soil.
