Breitbart: FACT CHECK: DHS Touts Drop in Migrant Encounters After Title 42, Ushers 50K in Through 'Lawful Pathways'
The Department of Homeland Security claims that the Biden-Harris administration's border plan has reduced migrant arrests at the Southwest border. However, the statement ignores that "unlawful entries" include those who evade detection or capture, known as "got-aways." In May, over 50,000 known got-aways were reported. The drop in encounters does not factor in migrants who can openly enter designated ports of entry, reducing encounter numbers. DHS stated, "Congress (must) address our broken immigration and asylum system." Randy Clark, a 32-year Border Patrol veteran, explains these issues.

The Wisconsin Assembly is set to approve a package of bills aimed at improving the professional licensing system that has seen delays since the start of the pandemic. The bills include doubling the length of time licenses are valid and allowing out-of-state license holders to work in the state. The state Department of Safety and Professional Services objects to doubling the length of licensing, citing concern for public safety, but health care organizations support the change to ease the renewal burden on license holders. The bills have been supported by Republicans and opposed by Democrats.
Republicans in Wisconsin are proposing a plan to address the issue of PFAS "forever chemical" pollution. The state Assembly is set to approve bills aimed at improving the licensing system that has seen delays since the pandemic. Some of the bills include doubling the length of time licenses are valid and allowing out-of-state license holders to work in Wisconsin. Other proposals include requiring the licensing department to update the processing time on its website monthly and posting information about whether other states' credentials for health care professions would qualify a person to obtain a reciprocal health care credential in Wisconsin. Washington Free Beacon: Moms for Liberty Named Extremist ‘Hate’ Group by SPLC
Parental rights groups, including Moms for Liberty, have been labeled "hate groups" by the Southern Poverty Law Center in their latest "hate map". The SPLC accuses the groups of being "anti-student inclusion" and operating as part of the "modern parental rights movement". Breitbart: Pence Defends Trump Administration Policy, Offers Contrast with Former Running Mate on Jan. 6, Future Policy in Announcement Address
Former Vice President Mike Pence kicks off his 2024 presidential campaign with a rally in Ankeny, Iowa, after filing to enter the race. He plans to visit all 99 counties in Iowa ahead of the caucuses in January and aims to defend the record of policy accomplishments he and former President Trump achieved in office together. Pence highlights that his reason for running against Trump is because of what happened on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump has been the polling leader since earlier this year, but his former running mate's entry is a challenge as it would set up the first nomination battle between a president and his vice president since 1940's Democratic Convention.
Red State: Democrat Calls Muslims Opposed to Transgender Curriculum 'White Supremacists'
Democrats are changing the meaning of words and "white supremacist" is becoming the new label for anyone who disagrees with the transgender agenda. Fox News: Kristi Noem defends Mt. Rushmore, calls out Target: 'Fundamentally tearing down this country'
Target is facing backlash from critics after it was revealed that its nonprofit foundation donated to a group that is calling for the closure of Mount Rushmore on the grounds that it is a symbol of white supremacy. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem criticized the retail giant for supporting an organization that seeks to infringe upon American freedom and values. The grantee, the NDN Collective, is also calling for the demilitarization of the US military and the destruction of Israel's Jewish character. Noem argued that Mount Rushmore is an important institution representing what America stands for and that Target's support of the NDN Collective is a betrayal of American ideals.
LGBTQ advocate Heather Hester criticized Target for a different controversy, arguing that the retailer's corporate Pride displays ("rainbow capitalism") are a disingenuous marketing strategy that co-opt the LGBTQ movement for profit. She believes that companies like Target are only interested in shallow displays of support rather than meaningful activism that would actually fight for LGBTQ rights. While Hester's issue with Target is different from Noem's, both underscore broader concerns about corporations involving themselves in political controversies.

The Economist: Russia’s war on Ukraine is changing Europe
Russia's war on Ukraine is leading to a significant shift in Europe, prompting Finland and Sweden to join NATO and causing the EU to consider adding Ukraine and Moldova as members. France and Germany, historically at odds, are trying to work out what this means for their own countries' borders, alliances, and security. Germany is making changes to its post-war economic model by distancing itself from Russian gas and becoming a generous military supplier to Ukraine. France is rethinking European borders, alliances, and security and is now supportive of EU expansion, previously having treated central and eastern European countries as juniors. Mr. Macron has even offered to hold a dialogue on the French nuclear deterrent.
Explosions have breached the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine, leading to mass evacuations in downstream villages. Ukraine's counter-offensive has begun with armour strikes in the southeast. Meanwhile, President Erdogan is shifting towards sane economics, offering hope for a policy U-turn with a new Turkish cabinet.

Judges at the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals published a majority decision stating that they would establish a procedure to go on hearing evidence without the possibility of convicting him. Kabuga, who is accused of encouraging and bankrolling the mass killing of Rwanda’s Tutsi minority, pleaded not guilty and would have faced a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if found guilty. The judges' decision disappointed many Rwandans and could undermine the spirit of reconciliation going on in Rwanda.
