Fox News: Kristi Noem defends Mt. Rushmore, calls out Target: 'Fundamentally tearing down this country'
Target is facing backlash from critics after it was revealed that its nonprofit foundation donated to a group that is calling for the closure of Mount Rushmore on the grounds that it is a symbol of white supremacy. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem criticized the retail giant for supporting an organization that seeks to infringe upon American freedom and values. The grantee, the NDN Collective, is also calling for the demilitarization of the US military and the destruction of Israel's Jewish character. Noem argued that Mount Rushmore is an important institution representing what America stands for and that Target's support of the NDN Collective is a betrayal of American ideals.
LGBTQ advocate Heather Hester criticized Target for a different controversy, arguing that the retailer's corporate Pride displays ("rainbow capitalism") are a disingenuous marketing strategy that co-opt the LGBTQ movement for profit. She believes that companies like Target are only interested in shallow displays of support rather than meaningful activism that would actually fight for LGBTQ rights. While Hester's issue with Target is different from Noem's, both underscore broader concerns about corporations involving themselves in political controversies.
The Federalist: Corporate Media Mum About Recent Threats Against Republicans
Two men were arrested for death threats against Republican lawmakers, including Senators Tommy Tuberville, Jim Banks, and former Senator Richard Burr. However, major news outlets like MSNBC, ABC, CBS, The New York Times, and The Washington Post failed to cover the developments. Threats against members of Congress have been increasing in recent years, but media coverage tends to be biased towards certain parties and political beliefs.
The Blaze: Horowitz: Debt ceiling deal leaves us completely vulnerable to electric car hell
Republicans failed to include a provision addressing $1.2 trillion in green energy subsidies, which largely benefit electric vehicles, in the House Republican debt limit bill. The government's substantial investment in electric vehicles will lead to greater expenses for drivers needing to recharge, and the destruction of modern energy systems and the electric grid, according to experts. Moreover, citizens will have to pay even more for electric vehicles and public EV chargers are often in disrepair, driving up costs even further. The green new deal will make the industry solvent enough to perpetuate its insolvency indefinitely. If the deal is maintained, 80% of the car market will belong to China and the bottom 50% of income-earners will never be able to afford a car. This policy will also further diminish supplies, driving up the cost of traditional vehicles. Finally, the production of EVs is much worse for the environment than that of traditional cars. Republicans must work to defund the green new deal in the appropriation bills.
Fox News: RFK Jr. visits southern border in Arizona, calls migrant crisis ‘unsustainable’
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited the southern border in Yuma, Arizona and described the unsustainable and awful conditions faced by migrants. He acknowledged that the crisis was not good for the U.S. or for the migrants themselves. Kennedy also said he would make the border impervious if elected President and fix the policies that have caused mass migration, including decades of U.S. foreign policy that have imposed austerity on those governments.
Fox News: GOP Wisconsin bill requiring commission to disclose online who received parole to get final approval
The Wisconsin parole commission may be required to post its decisions online under a GOP-authored bill passed in March. The State Senate plans to revise the bill before considering it for Governor Evers' approval. The measure would require the Department of Corrections to publish names of parole applicants who have been granted, denied, or sent back to prison following parole revocations.
The State Senate in Wisconsin is set to approve measures to protect petrol-powered vehicles and other machines. The Senate is making changes to a bill which would force a commission to post its parole decisions online. The bill was passed by the Assembly last year and requires the Department of Corrections to post the names of parole applicants. Governor Tony Evers has not expressed whether he is in favor of the bill.

The Epoch Times: Panicked LGBTQ Group Declares ‘National Emergency’—What It Fears Is Fed-Up Americans’ Threat to Its Institutional Power
Left-wing advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign has declared a "national emergency" for LGBTQ+ people in America, claiming that they face multiple threats resulting in violence and endangerment. However, critics have argued that the group is overstating the situation and that most of the threats are due to legal changes that have banned gender-affirming care for children, prohibited gender-neutral restrooms, and disabled biological males from competing in female sports. Many Americans, they say, are fed up with the LGBTQ+ community's demands, which they consider to be extreme and intolerant, leading to resistance and boycotts of woke corporations.
The Human Rights Campaign and its allies have gained significant institutional strength over the years, but there is now a growing movement that seeks to bypass their power. Opponents to the new moral paradigm promoted by the Left are now more relentlessly boycotting brands that embrace it and implementing laws to prevent woke corporations and groups from deciding societal rules. However, to capitalize on the moment, the Right needs a governing agenda and leadership to create lasting institutional and societal change, going from winning a few culture battles to winning the culture war.
