The American Spectator: Over 1,300 National Guardsmen Will Be Sent to Texas Border
14 Republican governors pledge to send around 1,300 National Guardsmen to Texas following state Governor Greg Abbott’s request for help to secure the southern border. Abbott's letters are part of Operation Lone Star, which has apprehended more than 370,000 migrants and seized more than 416 million lethal doses of fentanyl. The move comes as the Biden administration ended Title 42 on May 11, which was enacted under the Trump administration to prevent sick migrants from crossing the border.

Washington Free Beacon: Aw, Geez: Canada-Adjacent Governor Enters GOP Primary
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum entered the 2024 Republican presidential campaign, joining an already crowded field of candidates led by former President Donald Trump. Burgum, a former software company executive, is largely unknown outside his state but could leverage his personal wealth from selling his startup to Microsoft to fund advertising that would raise his national profile. Burgum's low-key style provides a sharp contrast to Trump's pugnaciousness, and the governor argues for solving America's problems by listening to each other "with respect" rather than "anger, yelling, infighting."
Flag And Cross: Avoiding DeSantis-Like Chaos On Twitter? Musk Upgrades 'System' For Interview With Robert Kennedy Jr
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joined Elon Musk for a Twitter Spaces session, with Twitter having prepared for the event after previous issues during Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's announcement. Twitter Spaces allows live audio conversations on the platform, but the social media site warned users of "minor turbulence" due to infrastructure maintenance ahead of the conversation. The site was recently used by Kennedy Jr. to blast Facebook's Instagram for banning his account ahead of his campaign, and Musk subsequently invited him to the live conversation.
Fox News: Trump town hall 'broke' the dam at CNN ahead of Chris Licht's departure, Joe Concha says
CNN CEO Chris Licht stepped down after facing backlash from staff and a scathing article in The Atlantic following Donald Trump's town hall on the network. Licht aimed to move CNN back to the center and focus on solid reporting, but many liberal staffers wanted the partisan tone of the Zucker-era. Licht had to make difficult decisions such as axing the costly CNN+ streaming service and undertake company-ordered layoffs. Fox News' Joe Concha believes the town hall was the final straw that broke the dam at headquarters.
The Federalist Papers: Biden May Have a Trick Up His Sleeve to Win in 2024 - And the Supreme Court Would Have to Get Involved
Former U.S. deputy solicitor general, Philip Allen Lacovara, proposed that Joe Biden ask Barack Obama to run with him for his reelection. In an opinion piece dated Saturday, Lacovara argued that having Obama as his running mate would be the surest way to defeat Donald Trump in 2024. He further justified his argument by stating that the constitution would not bar Obama from running for vice president. The article suggests attaching the hashtag .
The Epoch Times: Former Justice Department Official Says Russiagate Reports Cover Up DOJ Crimes
Jeffrey Clark witnessed the "Get Trump" plot as assistant attorney general. He hoped the DOJ's investigations would hold the conspirators to account, but instead, they offered a "limited hangout."
The American Mind: A Time for Greatness, Courage, and Moderation
The Western tradition is dynamic and expansive but has ample room for pietas. Real human freedom and dignity need to be nourished by acknowledging our considerable debts to our forebears and to the natural and divine sources of our dignity as human beings. We need new statesmen to arise and to be cultivated in us to renew the noble tradition of statesmanship.
Daily Wire: Trump Invites Children’s Choir Interrupted By Capitol Police While Singing The National Anthem To Perform At Rally
Former President Donald Trump has extended an invitation to the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir out of Greenville, South Carolina to perform at a campaign rally in the state after the choir was interrupted while singing the national anthem at the Capitol last month by Capitol Police. Trump called the incident of interrupting the choir while singing such an important song a “serious thing” and stated that they would perform at a rally for him in front of tens of thousands of people. The choir has received other invitations to perform from various news outlets, including Newsmax and Fox News.
The Rushingbrook Children’s Choir sang the first three verses of “The Star Spangled Banner” in Statuary Hall when they were interrupted by Capitol Police. Although police initially claimed that the choir was allowed to finish the anthem, Micah Rea, the man who organized the trip, disputes the claim that the children were allowed to finish the anthem. Speaker McCarthy, along with Republican South Carolina Reps. Joe Wilson, Russell Fry, and William Timmons issued a joint statement expressing their disappointment with the choir's celebration being cut short. Wilson plans to introduce a bill that would allow the national anthem to be performed on all federal property. The South Carolina delegation has agreed to cover the costs for the choir to return to the Capitol.
National Review: The Corner: What Worked in 1976 or 1992 Is Not Likely to Work in 2024
Being a good lesser-known governor is unlikely to result in a competitive presidential bid, let alone a winning one. The one chance voters get will almost invariably go with their favorite candidate, not a dark horse option. Despite some similarities with Sununu, North Dakota GOP governor, Burgum is freer to run for the 2024 run knowing that his candidacy will be so inconsequential that it won't affect the final outcome.
The Blaze: CNN drops special report about Clarence Thomas, Gov. DeSantis: They once had a 'big bear hug'
CNN reported on Tuesday about the "close relationship" between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, as well as their alleged mutual friend, Leonard Leo. However, the report was mainly a pretext to criticize Leo, who once advised Donald Trump on which judges he should consider for the Supreme Court. The report also bashed Thomas' conservative stances on certain issues, such as LGBTQ rights and abortion.
The Epoch Times: Framing Millian
Hans Mahncke's forthcoming book "Swiftboating America" explores the lies behind the Steele dossier and the Clinton campaign's role in pushing disinformation. One of the most egregious episodes involves the framing of Sergei Millian, a Belarusian-American businessman who had briefly been in the orbit of the Trump organization. The Clinton campaign's operatives used Millian's Russian-sounding name and ties to Trump to falsely tie him to the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. The plan involved using a former British intelligence officer, Christopher Steele, and compromised members of the media to advance their story. Special Counsel John Durham's report has since exonerated Millian of any involvement in the affair.

Daily Wire: Armenian, Hispanic Parents Clash With Antifa, School Board Over LGBTQ Agenda
Tensions flared as parents and Antifa clashed outside a California school board meeting discussing efforts to celebrate Pride month. Parents from Armenian and Hispanic communities opposed promoting a pro-LGBTQ+ agenda to young children, causing some to pull their children out of school in protest. Some speakers supported the district's pro-Pride agenda, and outside the meeting, three people were arrested as parents confronted members of Antifa clad in masks and pink bandanas. Armenian-American men fought against Antifa and far-left protesters who gathered to oppose the parents. Parents have voiced opposition to pushing the pro-LGBTQ+ agenda on children.

BlackRock's interest in the Chinese market has been questioned by consumer advocates warning it carries risks not present in other markets due to China's lack of transparency and links to the Chinese Communist Party.
Breitbart: WATCH: Kamala Harris Picks Fight with Israeli Government at Independence Day Bash
Vice President Kamala Harris criticized proposed judicial reforms in Israel during an Independence Day reception hosted by the Israeli embassy in Washington, triggering a diplomatic spat. The remarks were largely effusive in its praise of the Jewish state, except for the criticism which seemed to be referring to the Biden administration’s opposition to the efforts by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hard-right government to curb the power of the High Court of Justice. Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen said that Harris had no idea what she was talking about.

Meanwhile, the newly-resurrected Tulare Lake, which dried up due to water diversion, has peaked at 178 square miles due to heavy rains and snow. The snowmelt has been steady rather than causing heavy flooding.

Red State: Amid Growing Concerns Over AI, Sen. Josh Hawley Is Pushing for Regulation
Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri is proposing a framework for potential federal guardrails for AI, which includes five principles, focusing on corporate guardrails. The framework includes creating a legal avenue for individuals to sue companies over harm caused by AI models, imposing stiff fines for AI models collecting sensitive personal data without consent, restricting companies from making AI technology available to children or advertising it to them, banning the import of AI-related technology from China and prohibiting American companies from assisting China's development of AI, and requiring licenses to create generative AI models. While most of those principles are likely to gather bipartisan support, there could be some opposition from those who oppose more licensing and regulations. The push for the advancement of AI will mean a push for regulation, but legislation and regulation needs to be firm without being a jackhammer that breaks what it's intended to assist.

Forbes: CNN’s Chris Licht Vowed To ‘Fight Like Hell’ To Keep His Job, But In The End He ‘Lost The Room’
CNN CEO Chris Licht is leaving the network, to be replaced on an interim basis by Amy Entelis. The news was announced on air around 9:30 a.m. ET, with CNN saying a team of executives would take over leadership of the network until a new chief executive is named. It followed damaging stories about Licht, who reportedly lost the support of staff at the network.
David Zaslav, the CEO of CNN's parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, broke the news to staff. He said he met with Licht and that he was leaving, effective immediately, adding, “It’s really unfortunate, and ultimately that’s on me. And I take full responsibility for that.” Licht arrived at CNN to much anticipation but faced widespread criticism for shutting down CNN+ and overseeing the launch of CNN This Morning, which struggled in the ratings.

California almond growers are testing out regenerative agriculture practices supported by consumer-facing food brands to improve soil health, enhance climate resiliency and water-use efficiency. The "regenerative movement" involves combining a range of sustainable farming methods to improve biodiversity, reduce chemicals and optimise nutrient cycling. One project is led by farmer Wayne Gardiner, who has partnered with Treehouse California Almonds, White Buffalo Land Trust and a range of researchers from Soil Life Services, UC Davis and more, while KIND Snacks has launched a three-year pilot project called the KIND Almond Acres Initiative. The main aims of the projects are to enhance the sustainability of almond growing and to demonstrate to consumers that the products they are buying have been grown in a more ethical manner that uses fewer inputs and is kinder to the environment.
Breitbart: AAA: Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Truck's Range Disappears when Carrying a Load
The Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck loses 24% of its range carrying a load close to the maximum capacity, according to American Automobile Association (AAA) tests. Ford marketed the truck's towing and hauling capabilities but payload reduction significantly affected the 300-mile range certified by the Environmental Protection Agency, which subsequently fell far short when carrying 1,400 pounds, or 110 pounds short of its gross weight rating. Ford does not consider the testing results to be representative of the vehicle's typical usage, saying the range cut could be less under normal circumstances. .
