The Epoch Times: Republicans Say Administration Redefined How Illegal Entries Are Reported After End of Title 42
Republicans Say Administration Redefined How Illegal Entries Are Reported After End of Title 42
Republicans accuse the Biden administration of redefining illegal entries to mislead the public. Officials have been accused of a “shell game” with the numbers after Title 42 expired. Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) said that the classification of illegal immigrants had changed instead of the number reducing, and the CBP One app was partially responsible for this. Democrats have argued that illegal crossings have reduced since Title 42 ended, but failed to reveal how much of the decrease is due to the reclassification. Republicans have long been frustrated by Joe Biden’s expansive interpretation of asylum claims.

New Video Absolutely Destroys Left's Narrative That DeSantis Kidnapped Illegal Immigrants
New video evidence reveals illegal aliens being transported to California were not kidnapped and flew there voluntarily. In the video, illegals described reaching the “sanctuary state” and praised their treatment. Previously, California Gov. Gavin Newsom had attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for “kidnapping” the migrants. The Florida Department of Emergency Management stated that it was a voluntary program and that the migrants had given verbal and written consent. California Attorney General Rob Bonta is investigating the program, which came to light after a group of migrants were flown to Sacramento on a chartered flight.

TikTokker Bacari-Bronze O’Garro is causing outrage with his criminal and obnoxious behavior, including entering private homes and ripping up books in a library. O’Garro claims that the uproar over his videos is due to him being a black male, but TikTok has banned his account for violating community guidelines prohibiting content promoting criminal activity. The Online Safety Bill, at the center of controversy, would give Britain’s broadcasting regulator Ofcom the power to regulate social media and set new standards for age verification when visiting websites, but critics fear it would worsen social media censorship.

House Republicans Probe Deb Haaland For Conflicts Of Interest
House Republicans are investigating potential conflicts of interest for Interior Secretary Deb Haaland in high-stakes decisions. GOP lawmakers recently sent a letter to Secretary Haaland demanding she turn over records related to her professional relationship with her daughter and husband, who both work on behalf of federally recognized Indian tribes. The lawmakers are concerned about Secretary Haaland’s compliance with ethical obligations, given her involvement with the Pueblo Action Alliance, a far-left climate group that opposes oil and gas exploration on public lands. They also question her husband’s role as the chief of sales and marketing for the Laguna Development Corporation. (, )

Turkey Chooses Dictatorship, to the Detriment of the Free World
Turkish President Erdogan's recent election victory is bad news for all involved. The list of losers includes Europe, NATO, US security interests, and Turkey's economy. Erdogan's victory was secured through the employment of a dictator's vicious tricks. Erdogan is in the process of killing Turkey's democracy and replacing it with institutionalized autocracy, which may put Turkish membership in NATO into question. Refusing to allow the US to use the strategically located air base in Incirlik could equate to a Turkish withdrawal from NATO, leaving Moscow and Beijing as the only winners.

Bill Barr Reveals That Jamie Raskin Lied About the Biden Bribery Investigation
The House investigation into alleged bribery involving Joe Biden heated up after the FBI briefed committee members and Rep. James Comer revealed the FD-1023 was being used in an "ongoing investigation". The FBI refused to hand over the document and hearings are scheduled on whether to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress for ignoring the subpoena. Meanwhile, Rep. Jamie Raskin claimed the investigation had been "terminated" under former AG Bill Barr, a statement which Barr has now denied. Barr confirmed that the investigation was sent to Delaware for further investigation and that there were grounds to hand it off to the prosecutor in Delaware. .

Trump announces plans to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a year-long celebration featuring a "Great American State Fair" and the revived National Garden of American Heroes. Turkey Chooses Dictatorship, to the Detriment of the Free World
Turkey's recent presidential election has resulted in the reelection of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who employed dictator-like tactics to secure a close victory. This is a destructive historical crime, with long term ramifications for both Turkey and the developing world, particularly in culturally Muslim nations. Erdogan is seeking to replace the structure of a democracy established by Ataturk with institutionalized autocracy, which has caused financial markets to become unsettled and may put Turkey's membership in NATO into question. With the threat of closing the strategically located Incirlik air base, NATO operations in the eastern Mediterranean, Middle East, and Central Asia are at stake.

Punches thrown at California school protest over LGBTQ+ curriculum and Pride month
A protest outside a California school board meeting turned violent when masked activists clashed with parents opposed to the district's LGBTQ+ policies. Both sides participated in the brawl. Police declared an unlawful assembly and arrested three individuals. The Glendale Unified School Board listened as members of the public debated LGBTQ+ issues inside the building. Some parents asked for permission to opt their children out of graphic aspects of the LGBTQ+ curriculum, while others defended the district's policies. The district emphasized its commitment to providing a safe, inclusive environment where every child can learn and thrive.

The Corner: Nearly a Third of Adults under 30 Support Government Surveillance in Their Homes
29% of Americans aged 18-29 support installing government surveillance cameras in every household to reduce illegal activities and domestic violence, according to a recent survey by the Cato Institute. This figure is more than double the percentage for the general population and is higher among racial minorities and Democrats, but lower among self-identified "very liberal" Democrats. While surprising to some, the results are not entirely unexpected given young people's willingness to submit to privacy violations during the pandemic.

Townhall: The Revolution at the Heart of 'Pride'
The Revolution at the Heart of 'Pride'
Pride Month is a call for revolution, not equality, promoting the replacement of traditional cultural norms with new and risky ones. Heteronormativity is attacked as authoritarian and discriminatory, with the aim of maximizing human happiness by unmooring sex from marriage and parenthood. The original exponents of the sexual revolution sought a non-repressive civilization based on absolute gratification, leading to a world where societal elites rewrite norms in favor of unending sexual gratification. This requires repression of traditional Judeo-Christian norms, leading to the ongoing culture war.

First stoves then incandescent light bulbs — now, the Biden administration is coming after Americans' gas furnaces
The Biden administration is expected to impose energy-efficient furnaces on homeowners requiring an annual fuel utilization efficiency of 95%. Critics suggest this regulation would outlaw non-condensing furnaces, forcing the ultra-efficient choice on everyone irrespective of suitability. Such a rule would disproportionately burden lower-income Americans who may be forced to switch to electric furnaces with higher operating costs. Retrofits to homes and venting systems would be extremely cost-prohibitive. ( )

Bank of Canada Raises Rates Amid Shifting Economic Landscape
The Bank of Canada increases its policy rate to 4.75 percent, surprising economists who put the probability at only 20 percent. Inflation settling into the 4-5 percent range influenced the decision. The market may be shifting toward small rate hikes followed by staying at the terminal rate for a while.

There are three scenarios for the Canadian economy: a soft landing or minor technical recession, a significant recession with a banking crisis, or very high inflation. The bears have been disappointed in their forecasts for a recession, but past downturns came after cyclical lows in unemployment rates and strong headline growth. Economic growth for the first quarter of 2023 came in at a solid 3.2 percent, but the yield curve remains inverted and U.S. composite leading indicators are flashing a downturn. The economic picture will be clearer in six weeks when the Bank of Canada meets again.

Fox News: App crash during Lent leads Hallow CEO to hear God say, ‘Give up and let me handle it’
App crash during Lent leads Hallow CEO to hear God say, ‘Give up and let me handle it’
Alex Jones, CEO of Catholic prayer app Hallow, experienced a crisis on Ash Wednesday when the app crashed, causing heartbreak for hundreds of thousands of users. However, Jones noted that this led to a revelation from God, reinforcing the message that success of the app is ultimately out of his hands. Hallow has experienced significant growth, reaching 10 million downloads and an estimated 250 million prayers said through the app, with around one million downloads per month. Hallow also received much attention after reaching No. 3 on the Apple App Store rankings, the highest of any faith-based or wellness app before.

Jones, who co-founded the app and is based in Chicago, said the interaction and excitement of users praying together was “crazy” but made the crash even more heart-breaking. A few hours before the app crashed, Jones attended a private Mass with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in New York City, before preparing for Hallow to be featured on national TV. Jones says the experience taught him a lesson that success of the app was out of his hands, and that only by giving up control to God would the app keep growing. It ultimately reinforced his commitment to crediting God for its success.

Daily Wire: Questions Mount Over Virginia Schools Lawyer Who Hired His Former Firm For Secret Rape Report
Questions Mount Over Virginia Schools Lawyer Who Hired His Former Firm For Secret Rape Report
A top lawyer in Loudoun County Public Schools, Robert Falconi, is accused of being a central player in covering up a rape by a transgender student in a school bathroom. Falconi hired the law firm Blankingship & Keith, where he worked previously, to conduct an internal investigation. The report was not released to the public or state Attorney General Miyares, leading to a court order for the district to produce it. Falconi was previously an attorney for Fairfax County Public Schools, which also faced Title IX issues.

Evidence suggests that Title IX compliance was an informal afterthought at Loudoun, just like with Fairfax. Falconi played a lead role in the Office of Equity and Compliance's 2012 OCR investigation. In this case, the federal agency had worries about the failure of a school to track sexual harassment reports. OCR found FCPS in breach of an agreement in 2014, which promised faithful implementation of Title IX procedures. In 2018, a second girl sued FCPS for not protecting her after reporting a sexual assault on a bus. The school destroyed the evidence, leading to a court sanction.

US issues travel advisory for Caribbean hotspot amid violence, sex assault concerns
The State Department has issued a travel advisory for Americans visiting the Dominican Republic due to an increase in violent crime and sexual assaults. The advisory urges travelers to exercise increased caution in the Caribbean hotspot and highlights the availability of weapons, illicit drugs, and a weak criminal justice system contributing to the high level of criminality. Travelers heading to resorts are likely safer, while urban areas, like Santo Domingo, have higher levels of crime. The Dominican Republic shares Hispaniola with Haiti, which has seen gang violence increase following the 2021 assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. However, the Dominican Republic shares the same threat level alert as other top tourist destinations like France, Germany, and Italy.

“SNL” actor Pete Davidson bought a Cavapoo dog from Citipups pet store, sparking criticism from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for choosing not to adopt from a shelter. Davidson, who is severely allergic to dogs but not to Cavapoos, was mourning the loss of his two-year-old dog when he decided to purchase a new dog. After PETA publicly criticised Davidson for buying from a pet store, he left an angry voicemail for Daphna Nachminovitch, a PETA executive, in which he called her a “boring, tired c***". Davidson has since apologised for his “poor choice of words” but has refused to apologise for buying a pet store dog rather than adopting one.
