Newsbusters: CNN's Breaking News: Conservative Gov. Likes Conservative SCOTUS Justice
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's connection to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was discussed on CNN's morning show. The fact that the two men first met in 2020 at a Federalist Society Dinner and that Federalist Society co-chairman Lenard Leo introduced them was deemed scandalous by the hosts. They spent five minutes discussing this relationship and how Leo advised both DeSantis and former President Trump on judicial nominations. The hosts sought insights from Supreme Court Analyst Joan Biskupic to understand the significance of this news.
CNN's morning show further covered how Lenard Leo brought together DeSantis and Thomas after their introduction. They went so far as to have dinner together, and the hosts discussed how tight relationships have developed between DeSantis, Leo, and Thomas. The hosts also inquired about DeSantis following Trump's path in his 2016 bid, running on "these are the kind of justices I will get on the Supreme Court." The significance of DeSantis's comment about Thomas from 2020 and the relationships seen between the three men were explored on the show.
Red State: Florida Drops Video of Illegal Immigrant Flight That Blows up Gavin Newsom's Threat of 'Kidnapping' Charges
Gov. Newsom accused Gov. DeSantis of kidnapping 16 immigrants from Texas and flying them to California. In response, the Florida Division of Emergency Management released a video showing migrants signing consent forms and agreeing to the flight. The migrants were boarded on the plane and given to a Catholic charity that receives government funding to help take care of illegal immigrants in California. There is no evidence that any laws were broken. The governors' response has been categorized as .

Newsbusters: Bitter Journo Decries Tim Scott Focusing on Racial Progress in America

She associatied systemic racism with being black and claimed that poverty was linked to systemic racism. Podcaster Michael Moynihan disagreed with Washington and noted that Scott actually acknowledged racism. The segment had the hashtag .

The Federalist: Taxpayer Money Is Being Used For Air Force 'Pride' Events
The US Air Force has authorised commanders to use taxpayer money to cover travel costs for service members attending upcoming LGBT events in Washington DC. The director of the Air Force’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion justified the move by citing “travel and transportation allowances” outlined in the Joint Travel Regulation system. Three events will be paid for, with a recruiting booth at the DC Pride Festival among them. A US Air Force base in Nevada had previously planned a drag show for Pride Month, but was forced to cancel it after Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz applied pressure.
Daily Wire: Matt Walsh Sends Message To Conservatives Calling To End Fight ‘Against Gender Ideology’
Matt Walsh of The Daily Wire has issued a message to fellow conservatives telling them to stay focused on fighting gender and Pride movements instead of calling for an end to the fight. Walsh, tweeting a response to those who said it was time to move on, stressed the importance of focusing on an issue that is close to your heart if you want to mobilise people around it. He added the moment you achieve significant progress, stop expecting somebody else to do your work for you. Walsh noted that getting people to care about an issue is the first step, which requires persistence, focus and creativity.

Spectator USA: How Kim Yo-jong became North Korea’s propaganda princess
North Korea's recent launch of a Chollima-1 rocket failed, further emphasizing the country's voracious desire to modernize and expand its weapons arsenal. While the launch was unsuccessful, it was notable that North Korea admitted to its failure which is a worrying reality that the country now takes its nuclear weapons for granted. Kim Yo-jong, the infamous younger sister of Kim Jong-un, responded to the failure with scathing retorts and promises to continue pursuing "a more offensive attitude" towards its enemies. As we approach the five-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s infamous meeting with Kim Jong-un in Singapore - which Kim Yo-jong attended - North Korea is not even pretending to show willingness to talk to its adversaries.

Academy Sports & Outdoors (ASO) reported a 5.7% drop in sales to $1.4 billion, and a 29% drop in earnings per share to $1.19 due to the challenging macro-economic environment, unfavourable weather, and no repeat of an especially strong hunting season last year. ASO opened one new store in Lafayette, Ind. during 1Q21, and plans to expand 80 to 100 stores.
Breitbart: Peter Schweizer on Debt Deal: 'Republicans Pretty Much Gave It Away'
The debt ceiling deal between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Joe Biden lacks spending cuts, leading to skyrocketing national debt. Democrats supported the deal, leaving their pet spending priorities untouched, while Republicans received a few scraps. One of these scraps was leaving defense spending untouched, despite the vast amount of wasteful and fraudulent military spending. "Radical transparency" is needed to force Congress to act like fiduciaries, documenting disclosures, and declarations about future revenue and expenses. It's a drastic situation, and "the brakes don't work, and the bridge up ahead is out."
The Federalist Papers: If Bud Light Can't Recover Within 2 Months It Will Start Disappearing from Shelves, Former Sales Exec Reveals
Bud Light must develop a strategy to win back consumers or it risks permanent market share losses, warns former AB InBev executive Anson Frericks. Frericks voiced concerns about the beer brand's future, stating that its decision to partner with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney could potentially lead to a diminished presence and that the ongoing boycott of the brand could lead to it being pulled in favor of brands that individuals are buying more of. Data indicates that Mexican beer Modelo Especial, which is also owned by AB InBev, appears set to surpass Bud Light as America’s favorite beer this year.
As September approaches, retailers are expected to rely on sales data from previous months to redistribute limited shelf spaces, and Frericks said that rival brands Coors Light and Yuengling could emerge as more prominent fixtures on store shelves, offering retailers a better opportunity to boost beer sales. In spite of billions in losses to AB InBev, Bud Light has not offered a public strategy to win back former consumers but instead opted to ignore the controversy as losses mount. The former executive's warning comes as the company that owns both brands, AB InBev, had lost $27 billion in market value.

On The Water: Angling Artist: Steve Cote
Steve Cote discovered a talent for nautical pyrography after buying a cheap wood-burning pen at a hardware store. A former corrections officer, Cote had developed woodworking skills as a teenager. Now he creates detailed pieces of pet portraits, landscapes and sea-life scenes, with a particular focus on fish using his pen and raw wood. He uses discarded bourbon and wine barrels to personalise his work, dabbles with Prisma coloured pencils to add depth and texture, and finishes each piece with acrylic sprays and a water-based spar urethane coating. Cote hopes to move into galleries across Connecticut and southern New England to continue burning marine life and coastal scenes.

The New American: Biden Administration Withholding Healthcare Funds From Pro-life States - The New American
The Biden administration is withholding healthcare funding from states that have restricted abortion referrals, in contravention of federal law and their own HHS rule. Title X grants require recipients to refer patients for abortions, putting healthcare providers in states that have banned abortion referrals in a difficult position. The Supreme Court devolved responsibility for abortion regulation to the states, and the federal government has no business imposing an ideological litmus test on recipients, particularly one that offends the consciences of millions of taxpayers. Republican lawmakers have written a letter to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra demanding immediate reinstatement of a grant to the Oklahoma State Department of Health and accusing HHS of interpreting laws and regulations through a political lens, ignoring the clear parameters of the statutes enacted by Congress.

The conversation with Corbett, producer and host of The Corbett Report, took place at the Better Way Conference in Bath, U.K. organized by the World Council for Health in June. Virtual tickets to the conference are still available.

Red State: Pete Davidson Tells PETA VP to 'Suck My D**k' After She Says He Should 'Adopt, Not Shop' For a Dog
Leftists are attempting to shame and control people's life decisions, even when it comes to purchasing pets. Actor Pete Davidson purchased a Cavapoo puppy and was shamed by PETA for not adopting from a shelter. Davidson, who is severely allergic to most dogs, called PETA to defend himself, leaving an angry voicemail asking them to do their research and calling them a "boring, tired f**k." PETA hit back with a statement insisting that there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog and suggesting that Davidson should have adopted from a shelter. However, Davidson's explanation was not enough for PETA, who appear to be attempting to extort him for cash or public apologies.
