American Thinker: Colorado Democrats Play Tax Games
Colorado Governor Polis and Democrat legislators are proposing a ballot measure for November 2023, Proposition HH, that would ask voters to give up TABOR refunds they are due to get a little property tax relief. The bill refers Proposition HH to the November 2023 ballot in the hopes of slightly reducing property taxes and then backfilling the government from surplus dollars used to give citizens TABOR refunds. The measure has come under fire for being unclear and unconstitutional, with 12 counties joining a lawsuit filed by the president of Advance Colorado. A coalition of 12 organizations, including Americans for Prosperity-Colorado and the TABOR Committee, has also formed to fight the proposition, claiming that it uses taxpayers’ own TABOR refunds as a bait and switch to support Prop HH and eliminate refunds.

The flag was added to a display of American flags at the front of the hospital and cemetery campus to celebrate the month. It is unclear how many VA facilities and cemeteries are flying a Pride flag across the state of Mississippi.

Many boards do not understand the potential risks inherent in an age of uncontrolled social media communication, said O'Leary, calling for a committee on media and communications. Diversity officers will remain an important factor in corporate boards, but O'Leary suggested that target had not fully understood the ramifications of its philanthropic allocations.

American Thinker: Next Up: The Age of the Builder
Dominic Cummings speculates on whether the entrepreneurial elite can rescue Britain from the "clown show" of politics or whether they will retreat into walled gardens. He references Marc Andreessen's idea of building a decentralized system outside of the bureaucracy's control to address the smug complacency and unwillingness to build seen throughout Western life. Andreessen's call to "build" pertains not only to software but to the physical world, with some of the most disruptive companies remaking it using software at their core. Cummings also discusses the fake narratives perpetuated by politics, noting that all stories are fake but we still like them until we don't and decide we want a new fake narrative.

Washington Free Beacon: Fauci Praised 'Competent, Trustworthy Scientists' in Wuhan. His Own Agency Said They Needed Ethics Training Over 'Research Misconduct.'
Dr. Fauci dismissed concerns of gain-of-function research by Chinese scientists as trustworthy, but his agency also funded ethics training for Chinese scientists due to research misconduct. The National Institutes of Health granted $300,000 in 2019 to "strengthen research integrity" at Chinese research institutions, indicating "research misconduct" and "publication fraud." The grant contradicts Fauci's comments to Congress, insisting that Wuhan Institute of Virology scientists were competent and trustworthy and did not use US funds for gain-of-function research. The Chinese government's refusal to participate in an international investigation into COVID-19's origins and warnings from US science diplomats about safety and management issues at the Wuhan lab add to skeptics' concerns.
