Front Page Magazine: Rashida Tlaib Plays the Grandmother Card
Rashida Tlaib Plays the Grandmother Card
Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib's assertion that her Palestinian grandmother is oppressed by Israel turns out to be a lie. Her grandmother lives under the rule of the Palestinian Authority, not Israel. If she is oppressed, it's not by Israel but by the Palestinian Authority. Tlaib uses her grandmother as a political weapon to smear Israel and accuses Jewish members of Congress of dual loyalty to Israel and the US, which is considered antisemitic according to the US State Department's official definition. Grandma Tlaib's oppression is at the hands of the PA, not Israel. If Tlaib wants to make her grandmother's life easier, she should denounce the true oppressor, the PA, and call for an end to American financing of the brutal and corrupt dictatorship that it is.

Forbes: To Safeguard Democracy, Political Ads Should Disclose Use Of AI
To Safeguard Democracy, Political Ads Should Disclose Use Of AI
U.S. Rep Yvette Clarke proposed a bill requiring disclosure of AI use in political ads due to advancements in language and image manipulation to create intentionally false content. Decreased trust in news coupled with sophisticated AI tools make fake news production increasingly difficult to detect. Bi-partisan support may help to address the problem and Google's watermarking tool is a solution for labeling content created by AI. It is important to move quickly with a bill for disclosure of AI use in political ads as AI technology advances. The U.S. Federal Election Commission already requires certain disclosures on political ads, aligning this requirement with technology would be feasible.

108 Former World Leaders Support Regime Change in Iran
108 former world leaders have signed a joint statement of solidarity with the people of Iran, supporting the main democratic opposition coalition, NCRI, and its component organization, MEK. The letter, sent to leaders of several countries, references the recent nationwide uprising in Iran and the regime's brutal crackdown on protesters. The signatories call for accountability for the regime's crimes and urge the international community to support the Iranian people's desire for a secular and democratic republic. The letter also condemns the regime's meddling in the Middle East and Europe, including its support for Russia's war against Ukraine.

Australian Businesses Launch Media Campaign to Protest 'Same Job, Same Pay' Legislation
Eight major Australian business associations announced a national media campaign to raise awareness about potential risks associated with the federal government’s “same job, same pay” legislation. The legislation seeks to make employers pay labour-hire contractors the same amount they pay direct employees for the same job, which several business groups argue will have consequences including job losses, reduced productivity, and lower wage growth.

Fox News: AI drone swarm shows military might but also questions of who holds the power
AI drone swarm shows military might but also questions of who holds the power
The US, UK, and Australia have tested an AI-controlled swarm of drones during a military exercise last week. The test aimed to demonstrate the potential of AI in military settings, however, it raised questions about control issues. The verification and control of the main AI operating the swarm, as well as the data that the swarm absorbs and disseminates, must be defined clearly to ensure coordination between militaries.

The Epoch Times: Health Grant Program Not Pork-Barrelling: Liberals
Health Grant Program Not Pork-Barrelling: Liberals
A health and hospital grant program from the former Morrison government was found ineffective and breached legal requirements, according to a scathing report by the auditor-general. The $1.25 billion initiative was announced just before the 2019 federal election, with a further $747 million committed for associated projects. Funds were provided in grants to primary health networks and state and territory governments to ease pressure on community services and hospitals, however, the report found that the governance of the funding arrangement was not effective and many grants were selected outside the expression-of-interest period. Liberal frontbencher Michaelia Cash denied that the funding scheme was used as pork-barrelling, stating it was developed to deliver local health and hospital services in every state and territory.

Fox News: AI may have an ‘eye’ on growing babies: Could predict premature birth as early as 31 weeks
AI may have an ‘eye’ on growing babies: Could predict premature birth as early as 31 weeks
Researchers from Washington University in St. Louis have developed a deep learning model that can predict preterm births. The model analyses electrical activity in a woman’s uterus during pregnancy, thus allowing women to seek care and make lifestyle changes to help protect the health of their baby if needed. While EHG measuring devices have been used in previous studies, this newest study showed that its AI model was more effective at predictions. The hope is that hospitals and obstetricians will adopt the method, making it part of regular pregnancy check-ups.

Fox News: I was an FBI agent when two top agents were murdered. Bureau was focused on social justice
I was an FBI agent when two top agents were murdered. Bureau was focused on social justice
FBI agents Laura Schwartzenberger and Daniel Alfin were murdered by a child pornography suspect, with four other agents wounded. Many agents feel that politically motivated cases and social justice movements took priority over addressing issues surrounding the shootout. Schwartzenberger was known for her integrity and work in protecting children from predators, but her death highlighted the FBI’s shift in priorities. American's are frustrated with the Bureau, and changes need to be made for it to regain the trust of the people.

Fox News: House Democrat bill would force labeling of AI use
House Democrat bill would force labeling of AI use
Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., has introduced the AI Disclosure Act of 2023, which would require AI-generated content to contain a disclaimer stating it was created by artificial intelligence. The bill would give the Federal Trade Commission oversight of the new rule. The move, which could help promote AI transparency, is attracting bipartisan support ahead of the 2024 presidential cycle.

Front Page Magazine: In Germany, a Record Number of Syrians are Given Citizenship
In Germany, a Record Number of Syrians are Given Citizenship
Germany continues to grant citizenship to Syrians, with 48,320 naturalizations in 2022. In addition, Turkish, Iraqi, and Ukrainian nationals also received German citizenship. The German government is currently offering visas for hundreds of thousands of Syrian and Turkish earthquake survivors, despite an increase in crime and unemployment among Muslim economic migrants in Europe. Experts suggest that instead of admitting more Muslim migrants to solve labor shortages, Germany should consider migrants from Christian Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Philippines. The high rate of crime among Muslim migrants in Europe, coupled with their religious doctrine of Islamic supremacy, poses a danger to native populations.
