Daily Wire: Biden Admin To Increase Number Of Foreign Nationals Admitted Through CBP One App
The Biden administration is expanding the CBP One application to nearly 40k foreign nationals per month, allowing them to schedule appointments to apply for asylum at ports of entry. Sen. Josh Hawley has criticized the program, but the Biden administration has announced the “Circumvention of Lawful Pathways” policy to incentivize foreign nationals to use it. Major cities such as Chicago and New York are struggling to accommodate the influx of border crossers, and an estimated 1.5 million illegal immigrants have come into the country under the Biden administration. A recent CBS News poll shows that 63% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border.
The Right Scoop: NYC creates drug vending machines to encourage use of ‘safer’ illegal drugs
New York City has installed vending machines offering free drug paraphernalia and anti-overdose meds for addicts in areas of heavy drug use. The machines also offer hygiene and safe sex kits, nicotine gum, and tampons as officials try to reduce overdose rates and the spread of infectious disease. The vending machines offer potentially life-saving Naloxone to drug users who have overdosed on opioids as the city deals with its deadliest year on record for overdoses, with fentanyl involved in 80% of all overdose deaths.

The Federalist: Jim Jordan Demands DOJ Forfeit Docs On The FBI's Trump Raid
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan demands unredacted documents related to FBI's raid of Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland. The raid was aimed at retrieving documents Trump read or created during his tenure as a commander-in-chief. Republicans sent letters to garner documents pertaining to "the execution of a search warrant" and "the decision to seek a search warrant" for Trump's estate.
Jordan is seeking an unredacted copy of the memorandum outlining the scope of Mr. Smith's probes regarding Trump and any supporting document related to his appointment as special counsel. The deadline for the DOJ to forfeit the records to the House Judiciary Committee is June 20. House Republicans plan to hold contempt hearings for FBI Director Christopher Wray for allegedly violating a congressional subpoena over an unclassified document implicating President Joe Biden.

The Epoch Times: Beyond Assessing the Chinese Military: Seeking Answers to the China Threat Question
China's aggressive actions towards Taiwan and Japan, including aerial incursions, indicate a serious threat that must be taken seriously. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) has the capacity to inflict heavy losses, and the erosion of America's technological edge raises critical questions about its readiness for a state-on-state fight with a near-peer opponent. Preventing a war with China necessitates convincing leader Xi Jinping that the United States has the political will and capability to deny him victory. Achieving political unity, reducing disunity, and advancing military posture in Asia are critical to U.S. national security policy. The PLA is growing in power, and its mastery of joint military operations poses a significant threat. Deterring Chinese aggression requires intense training and preparation and avoiding the mistakes of history.

The Epoch Times: Experts Worry Over Possible Demise of Broadband Subsidy for Low-Income Households
The future of broadband internet access for low-income consumers is uncertain as the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) could run out of funds by mid or late 2024. The program provides $30 discounts for broadband services to low-income consumers and has provided $14 billion in subsidies through the Investment in Jobs Act of 2021. Concerns have been raised about the loss of the program as it has enabled low-income households to get computers to enjoy the full benefit of broadband, and its demise could drive up the cost of broadband service and leave just a few large national companies. Experts have also pointed out that the end of ACP could make broadband internet service on tribal lands unsustainable and eliminate trust in the government’s ability to provide service, while low-income households may continue to rely on smartphones as an alternative.

The Epoch Times: The D-Day Tugboat That ‘Saved Our Bacon’ and Bloodied the Enemy
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum in Oswego, New York, oversees the restoration of the tugboat LT-5 Major Elisha K. Henson, which played a critical role in the D-Day invasion. The tugboat participated in Operation Mulberry, which facilitated the building of artificial harbors, known as "Mulberry harbors," composed of sunken concrete caissons known as "Phoenixes," blockships known as "Gooseberries," and a line of floating breakwaters called "Bombardons." The Henson helped tow ammunition-laden barges that were beached onshore as a contingency plan, supplying much-needed ammunition that prevented a decisive defeat on Omaha Beach. The names of the brave crew, who faced German fighter attacks and remain etched in American spirit, remain unknown to this day.
