Chicago Turns Daley College into Shelter for 400 Border Crossers
Chicago is housing around 400 border crossers and illegal aliens in Richard J. Daley College and 400 more in Wilbur Wright College, despite opposition from local residents. Migrant families with children are staying at the college, which has been turned into a migrant shelter. The Chicago City Council approved $51m in local taxpayer funds last month, however residents have vastly opposed the plan.

Florida Wins, Blocks Mayorkas' Parole Gateway
A federal appeals court in Georgia has denied the Biden administration’s request to release illegal immigrants into the US via the parole pathway. The rejection narrows the parole gateway that the border chief of Joe Biden uses to enable economic migrants to compete with Americans for work, accommodation and education. Florida's Attorney General Ashley Moody has won the case after filing a lawsuit against the US government. The win will probably be appealed by the Biden administration to the Supreme Court.

Fox News: McCarthy pledges contempt charge Thursday if FBI's Wray dawdles further on Biden 'bribe' doc
McCarthy pledges contempt charge Thursday if FBI's Wray dawdles further on Biden 'bribe' doc
Kevin McCarthy, the House Speaker, has vowed to file contempt-of-Congress charges against FBI Director, Christopher Wray, if he does not present the House Oversight Committee with a document alleging that former Vice President, Joe Biden, was involved in “bribes” with a foreign national. The FBI says it has an ongoing investigation into the matter. McCarthy claims the document is being unlawfully withheld and says, “What is the first thing that Director Wray said? He didn't even acknowledge whether he had it." Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin’s accuses Republicans of politicising the committee as "part of MAGA Republicans' efforts to discredit and ultimately ‘dismantle’ the FBI."

RFK Jr. Recalls Father's Assassination, Defends Second Amendment at Town Hall
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced at a town hall in suburban Philadelphia that he will challenge President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary, 55 years after his father's assassination. Kennedy hopes to appeal to a range of voters with his campaign, which he calls a "peaceful insurgency" intended to bridge the "toxic polarization" he believes is tearing the country apart. His policy views differ from President Biden and progressive Democrats on a range of issues, including vaccines, the Second Amendment, and immigration. Some political strategists believe he may generate support from moderate and conservative Republicans and independents, but he is not likely to receive help from the Democratic National Committee.

Internal Target Email Exposes Troubling Activities Woke Company Asks Employees to Participate In: Report
Retail giant Target is asking employees to participate in LGBT “pride” events, including “Queer Bingo,” according to a company email. The email asks employees in its Minneapolis headquarters and across the country to build “community” either in-person or remotely by going gay. The company hasn’t learned much since a backlash against its complete embrace of sexuality cost it billions in market value. Target's employee “pride week” includes a presentation from the company’s “Pride+ Culture Club” on “How to be a Better Ally” and other events. The company is all-in on pushing the left’s agenda, targeting vulnerable children and trying to convince them to undergo irreversible surgeries and therapies.

The Epoch Times: Santa Monica Residents Push Backs Against Outdoor Needle Distribution Site
Santa Monica Residents Push Backs Against Outdoor Needle Distribution Site
Residents in Santa Monica are pushing for a change to a county-operated program that distributes clean syringes weekly to homeless drug users near the city's parks, asking that it be moved indoors to a county-owned facility. The program, overseen by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Division of Substance Abuse Prevention and Control, currently distributes syringes, first aid kits, opioid overdose reversal medication, and hygiene kits every Friday at three city parks. Some residents say they are concerned that outdoor giveaways could lead to an increase in homelessness, drug use, and crime.

Members of the Santa Monica Coalition, a group of retail and commercial tenants, residents, and property owners, have raised concerns about the syringe distribution, which they say has been operating without public knowledge since 2019. The coalition is asking the city of Santa Monica to "force the County to move their distribution program indoors under medical supervision with supportive services." The city asked the program to be moved to a "service-rich environment," instead, that was "preferably," indoors inside a county-owned facility, with services for substance abuse and mental health.

Foreign Policy: Facebook’s Litmus Test in Cambodia
Facebook’s Litmus Test in Cambodia
Facebook's content moderation is being put to the test with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen's veiled threat of violence against political opponents. While Facebook has determined Hun Sen violated community standards, the social media giant is permitting the speech online due to perceived newsworthiness. The definition of newsworthiness is "highly subjective," leading to criticism that the platform's alleged focus on bolstering its reputation detracts from its responsibility for links to violence in Southeast Asia. Facebook's Oversight Board will review Hun Sen's case and deliver policy recommendations that will set a precedent on political rhetoric in the region, where authoritarian leaders' speech can incite violence.

Breitbart: Breitbart Business Digest: A Tale of Two Services Sector Surveys
Breitbart Business Digest: A Tale of Two Services Sector Surveys
Two PMIs released on Monday paint differing pictures of the US economy - the ISM PMI showed growth slowing in May, whilst S&P Global's PMI showed strong growth in the service sector on the back of improved demand, enabling the sector to reduce backlogs of work for the first time in four months. The stronger figures from S&P Global Market Intelligence are likely to be preferred, and are in line with the better than expected May jobs numbers, leading traders to capitulate on the expectation that there will be significant rate cuts this year. There is now only a 45% chance of a rate cut by the end of the year, with odds moving towards further rate increases.

Where's Pete? Dockworkers Slow Down Major West Coast Ports
Labor disputes between the International Longshore Workers Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) are slowing down cargo processing at West Coast ports, risking a shift of shipping to Atlantic coast ports. The ILWU states it is seeking better terms for a collective bargaining agreement, while the PMA is blaming the ILWU for the slowdown that has resumed from last week. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is celebrating federal spending in the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill around the country, while a major slowdown continues to hamper cargo at West Coast ports.

Forbes: ‘From’ Season 2, Episode 7 Review: The Belly Of The Beast
‘From’ Season 2, Episode 7 Review: The Belly Of The Beast
From continues to uncover more about the origins of the monsters in episode 7, "Belly of the Beast". After dissecting a dead monster, the group discovers it was once a human being, leading them to believe that the monsters are former people who got stuck in Fromville and were transformed. However, there are still many unanswered questions and mysterious visions plaguing the characters, including encounters with a ballerina who is now a hideous undead hag. Other important plot points include the creation of a better booze still, the revelation of a pregnancy, and suspicions of a mole among the group.

Despite some advancements in information sharing among the characters, the show still drags its feet in certain areas, with too many conversations that don't move the plot forward or provide meaningful character development. The group's negligence in leaving the dissected monster's body in the basement may have unintended consequences, as they plan to use its bile as a weapon against other monsters. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Elgin is pushed underwater by a mysterious force while in the bath. Overall, while not as tense as the previous episode, "Belly of the Beast" continues to push the story forward and uncover more about the world of Fromville.
