Red State: Newsom's Vineyard: California Investigates Migrants' Arrival by Plane, With Paperwork From Florida
Over a dozen migrants arrived in Sacramento, CA on a private jet with no advance warning or care in place, brought by actors purporting to be from Florida’s government. The migrants were driven from Texas to New Mexico and stayed in a hotel, then flew to California’s capital city. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento took the migrants to its front office by bus, and the Sacramento Area Congregations Together is helping them. The state attorney general is investigating potential criminal action against those facilitating the transportation of immigrants, including potential kidnapping charges, and California Governor Newsom is working with the Mayor’s office and local and nonprofit partners to ensure the migrants are treated with respect and dignity.

The Epoch Times: China's Corporate Layoffs Aggravate Unemployment
Chinese companies have been laying off employees since 2023, creating an unemployment crisis among Chinese youth, with an urban youth unemployment rate of 20.4 percent in April. Major Chinese companies including ByteDance, Tencent, and JD.com have joined the wave of layoffs. Private enterprise owners in China cannot afford to pay for the social security benefits for its employees, leading companies to maintain and not hire regular employees. The layoffs of large corporations are a prominent manifestation of the global economic downturn, and experts believe that China is on the eve of social unrest due to the unemployment crisis.
The Federalist: The Left's 'Home Of The Future' Is Secretly A Costly Fixer-Upper
The Biden administration's push for a "Great Green-Up" of American homes with environmentally-minded regulations is causing more harm than good. The Department of Energy's mandate on LED bulbs is imposing added costs on low-income households, and regulations on electric stoves and dishwashers are driving up energy bills and causing more problems than gas- and water-efficient appliances. The government's promises of cost savings through these measures are overstated and do not account for the unintended consequences of economic micromanagement.

Forbes: HBO’s ‘The Idol’ Is A Bad Euphoria Parody
HBO's The Idol is a poorly received show with constant nudity, vulgar scenes, and graphic descriptions. American Thinker: Taxpayer-funded museum says its plants are ‘queer’
A LGBTQ+ museum in Staten Island is claiming that all of the plants in its garden are queer or transgender, as part of a new ‘Queer Ecologies Garden Project’ in time for Pride Month. The museum director, Victoria Munro, says mushrooms in the garden “are super queer in so many ways,” while claiming wisteria and lavender are queer because of their purple color. The museum is dedicated to the work of the late photographer Alice Austen, who lived in a long-term lesbian relationship.

The Federalist: Yes, Abortion Laws Protect The Life Of The Mother
Reporter Makenzie Huber of South Dakota Searchlight wrote a hit piece on pro-life policies, which was biased and dishonest. The article "Physicians feel ‘trapped’ by SD’s abortion trigger law. They’re hoping to change it" featured the opinion of a physician who wrongly believes the law would prevent her from treating a life-threatening condition. The media falsely claims mothers will no longer be protected in a post-Roe world, when doctors must still safeguard the mother's life. The media also plays into targeting pregnancy resource centers with propaganda. Corporate media rarely portrays the truth, and the life of the mother will always be a doctor's first priority.

Forbes: Yes Or No: Is It The Duty Of Judges And Courts To Forewarn Lawyers About Potential Pitfalls Of Using Generative AI For Legal Work, Asks AI Ethics And AI Law
Attorneys need to be forewarned about the use of generative AI by judges and courts. A recent controversy arose when two attorneys relied on generative AI for their legal research and included fictional cases in their filings, resulting in potential court sanctions. In response, a judge in a Texas court has posted a new rule requiring attorneys in his court to sign a certification that they have complied with the rule regarding the use of generative AI, which has sparked a debate on the need for judges to inform and require compliance from lawyers on the appropriate uses of AI. The new rule points out the issues with current generative AI being prone to hallucinations, bias, and unreliability; however, proponents of AI argue that AI can be used under proper supervision and it will be beneficial in the long run.
