The Federalist: HHS Spent $13 Billion Sponsoring And Losing Migrant Kids
HHS Spent $13 Billion Sponsoring And Losing Migrant Kids
Since 2012, the US Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Refugee Resettlement has spent over $13bn sponsoring unaccompanied minors at the border, and has been unable to locate over 85,000 children it placed. The programme places minors with sponsors to avoid their vulnerability to exploitation in Mexican border towns. Many children are overworked and exploited, and due to the number of minors, the department hires child welfare agencies to locate those at high risk, but it has been found to ignore signs of abuse.

Fox News: Appeals court denies Biden admin request for stay in challenge to migrant release policy
Appeals court denies Biden admin request for stay in challenge to migrant release policy
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Biden administration's request for a stay on the order blocking the implementation of a policy that saw thousands of migrants released into the US without a court date. The policy was put in place amid a surge in migration just ahead of the end of Title 42 expulsions. The judge found that the policy was materially identical to a separate policy that paroled migrants into the US while enrolling them into alternatives to detention programs. The administration has said that nearly 9,000 migrants were released in the time the policy was in place.

The three-judge appeals court panel denied the Biden administration's motion to stay the orders blocking both policies, arguing that the warnings "ring somewhat hollow on this record." The denial marks another win for Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who secured the temporary restraining order and then the preliminary injunction against the policy. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is also facing legal challenges from both GOP-led states and civil rights groups targeting its asylum rule.

National Review: The Corner: Republican Hesitation on Impeaching DHS Secretary Mayorkas Is Misguided
The Corner: Republican Hesitation on Impeaching DHS Secretary Mayorkas Is Misguided
DHS Secretary Mayorkas has facilitated illegal immigration by abusing parole power. Congress specified that migrants may only be paroled for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit, but Mayorkas has abused this power to admit and give work permits to however many migrants he wants from any country he wants. Some House Republicans support Mayorkas's impeachment, but others are concerned about legality and usefulness. Republicans should want a Senate trial to force a discussion of the administration's failures at the border and its rewriting of immigration laws. It's time for the House to move against him.

American Thinker: Biden is sneaking busloads of illegal migrants in from the Darien Gap -reports
Biden is sneaking busloads of illegal migrants in from the Darien Gap -reports
Migrants are continuing to come to the US in large numbers, transported by air-conditioned buses paid for by US taxpayers through a network funded by them, according to Michael Yon, a veteran foreign correspondent. He reports from the Darien Gap, a jungle that links Colombia and Panama, where migrants are being picked up for safe and secure transportation into the US, processing the asylum paperwork. The numbers are steadily increasing, and figures for January to April in 2023 show that 127,000 migrants from different countries have crossed the Darien Gap. Indicators show that a majority of them are military-aged men.

Meanwhile, a report by the Financial Express, an Indian publication, says that Indian migration into the US is also increasing. Over 2,900 Indian nationals decided to travel the dangerous route of the Darien Gap in 2023, nearly doubling the number of people of Indian origin who decided to take the risky journey in 2022. In addition to Venezuela, Haiti, Ecuador, China, and Colombia, which are the top five countries with alarming figures, the report identified India and Chile as countries of concern. The Darien Gap is a 575-kilometer (357-mile) stretch of land regarded as one of the riskiest and most challenging migration routes because of criminal gangs and many dangerous creatures such as jaguars, snakes, venomous insects, and quicksand.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom accuses Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of sending migrants on a plane to Sacramento and threatens legal action, calling DeSantis a “small, pathetic man” and floating possible kidnapping charges against him. California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta is investigating “the circumstances by which” the migrants were flown to California, and will determine “potential criminal or civil action” against any actors that arranged for the transportation.

Pakistani Authorities Give Imran Khan a Taste of His Own Medicine
Pakistan's government has prohibited former Prime Minister Imran Khan from appearing in the media to silence him, following a recent string of arrests of PTI party members. The country's military has been a dominant political force since its inception, directly controlling the government for roughly one-third of its history, and showing no mercy towards politicians who cross it, as demonstrated by the current media blackout of Khan. Pakistan's perilous economic situation also looms, with inflation of 38% YoY, government gridlock, and Khan's populist tactics prompting fears that the country may undergo state failure, a constant threat throughout its history.

Biden golfs with brother who profited from family's shady China business deals
President Biden played golf with his younger brother James Biden while House Republicans continue to investigate the Biden family's foreign business deals. James Biden and Hunter Biden entered a joint-venture called Sinohawk Holdings in 2017 which ultimately failed. The venture has come under scrutiny as records reveal lucrative payments were made to James, Hunter, and Hallie Biden from a bank account belonging to James Gilliar and his company Robinson Walker LLC.

Comer Will Move Thursday to Hold FBI Director in Contempt of Congress
The House Oversight Committee plans to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress for refusing to hand over an unclassified subpoenaed document regarding an alleged exchange of money for policy decisions involving President Joe Biden and a foreign national during his time as Vice President. The FBI has possession of the document from a highly credible informant who has been a trusted source for over 10 years. Republicans are seeking to defund the top brass at the FBI and DOJ and refer charges to the Justice Department, though the DOJ will ultimately decide whether or not to prosecute.

DOJ-Sued John Chen's Military Background and Deep Ties to CCP’s United Front Department Exposed
John Chen, a Chinese agent with ties to the United Front Work Department, a secret spy organization under the Chinese communist regime, has been indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice. Chen has a military background and was co-founder of the Southern California Chinese American Federation, known for convening numerous “Oct. 1 National Day” events—the establishment of the Chinese communist regime and one of the CCP’s most significant celebrations.

Chen is facing several charges, including conspiring to act as an illegal agent of the CCP, bribing a U.S. public official, and international money laundering.

State Dep’t Absurdly ‘Stands By’ Funding ‘Conservative Blacklister’
The Biden State Department defends its funding of Global Disinformation Index (GDI), a group that blacklisted certain conservative websites. Despite receiving backlash from Republican representative Darrell Issa, the State Department denied any wrongdoing and claimed that their funding of GDI aimed to counter foreign disinformation. GDI's mission is to "defund and downrank" media outlets such as The Federalist and RealClearPolitics. Conservatives are calling for accountability and equal treatment from both the State Department and Big Tech.

Washington Free Beacon: WATCH: Comey Says 'It Has To Be Biden' in 2024
WATCH: Comey Says 'It Has To Be Biden' in 2024
Former FBI director James Comey endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2024, citing the need for a leader who abides by the law and constitution. He also suggested that former president Donald Trump could be wearing an ankle bracelet while accepting the nomination at the Republican convention and that it is possible for him to win the White House, even while potentially incarcerated. Comey believes that Russia may interfere on Trump's behalf in the 2024 elections. The statement comes after the release of the Durham report, which found that Comey and others in the FBI repeatedly overlooked evidence suggesting that the Steele Dossier was produced by the Clinton campaign.

Guatemala's Presidential Candidates Campaign in U.S. After Decades of Mass Immigration
Guatemalan presidential candidates are campaigning in the US, mainly in California, as decades of high levels of legal immigration from Central America have brought hundreds of thousands of Guatemalans to the nation. Guatemala preps for its first round of voting this month. Last year, Guatemalans in the US sent more than $18 billion in remittances back home. Guatemalans in the US who vote in Guatemala’s elections are left-wing. This year’s presidential election in Guatemala is only the second election in the country’s history where nationals living abroad can vote from where they live rather than having to travel back to cast a ballot. About 33% of Hispanics in the US are foreign-born, while about 60% of Guatemalans in the US are foreign-born, and 22% live in poverty.

Kennedy agreed to the invitation and the discussion will be held at 2 p.m. ET on Monday. Andy Beshear Says He Fights For Coal Miners. His Legislative Record Tells a Different Story.
Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear, who supports coal and touts his pro-coal record, refused to back a Republican bill prohibiting the retirement of coal plants until it was proven that the retirement wouldn't damage the power grid's reliability. Beshear's refusal to sign the bill, which went on to become law, contradicts his campaign promises and could hamper his re-election campaign against Republican challenger Daniel Cameron. Kentucky is the fifth-largest coal-producing state in the US, with coal accounting for 75% of the state's electricity portfolio. Beshear faces criticism from Cameron for his lack of support for the Kentucky coal industry and having appointed state officials who are anti-coal.

The Federalist: Comey Complains Trump Could Weaponize Govt. Just Like He Did
Comey Complains Trump Could Weaponize Govt. Just Like He Did
James Comey and Jen Psaki discuss the possibility of President Trump winning the next election with the threat of him being potentially incarcerated. Comey warns of the damage a second Trump term could do to the nation, while Psaki asks if justice could be delayed. Comey spends the rest of his time on air fearmongering about how a retribution presidency might happen if Trump wins again. He mentions that President Trump could order the investigation and prosecution of individuals who he sees as enemies, causing a dangerous precedent.

Comey, who claims that the FBI is competent, honest, and independent, predicts that a second Trump term will be riddled with malfeasance. He ignores the fact that the FBI under his leadership abused its authority to launch a “seriously flawed” investigation into alleged collusion between Trump and Russia. Comey's predictions are ironic given the fact that his preferred political candidate did the exact thing he claims to fear for the last two and a half years. Overall, Comey reaffirms his allegiance to a regime committed to following through with the political persecution started in 2016.

New York Times finally acknowledges Ukrainian Nazis, claims they
are ruining Ukraine’s brand in war against Russia
Ukrainian soldiers have been seen with Nazi symbols on their uniforms, including the Totenkopf patch and the Black Sun symbol, which is popular among neo-Nazis and white supremacists. Some social media posts featuring the symbols have been deleted, but international support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia has not wavered. Diplomats, Western journalists and advocacy groups have avoided mentioning the symbols for fear of fueling Russian propaganda. Jewish groups and anti-hate organizations have also largely stayed silent. Ukrainian historian and religious scholar Ihor Kozlovskyi said the symbols should be interpreted through the Ukrainian lens.

The New York Times has acknowledged that Ukraine's soldiers have been using Nazi symbols on their clothes, but some international figures have refrained from calling attention to this for fear of playing into Russian propaganda. One issue is that calling out the symbols could make people think Western powers are embracing Russian propaganda talking points. Meanwhile, Russian propaganda depicts Ukraine as overrun by Nazis in a "denazification" mission. A Politico article suggested that Ukrainian President Zelensky may be susceptible to his own "color revolution," casting some doubts on Western foreign policy with Ukraine.

Nikki Haley, a Republican presidential candidate, believes the US has a national security interest in backing Ukraine while Russia occupies its territory. Haley, a former United Nations ambassador and governor of South Carolina, argued that the US must keep giving Ukraine the equipment and ammunition to win, rather than sending cash or troops to deter Russia and maintain stability in the world order. Citing China's invasion of Hong Kong and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Haley claimed that allowing Russia to expand to Poland and the Baltics could result in a world war. Haley also accused her competitors, former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, of being "too trustful" of Putin's Russia and treating the situation in Ukraine like a territorial dispute, jeopardizing American security.

As travelers search for affordable vacations amid rising inflation, cybercriminals are taking advantage of those looking for a deal. More than one in three adult Americans have fallen prey to an online travel booking scam, with victims losing up to $1,000 or more. Despite online booking being favored over direct booking, 15% of all US adults have been tricked into making payments through fraudulent platforms and 22% have had their identity stolen while booking online. Even while on vacation, travelers are more concerned about digital threats than physical ones such as pickpocketing. However, behaviors such as connecting to unsecured Wi-Fi networks and leaving streaming accounts open increase the risk of cyberattack or identity theft.

Forbes: Kneejerk Oil Price Rise Fails To Cap 50-Day Moving Average Despite Saudi Action
Kneejerk Oil Price Rise Fails To Cap 50-Day Moving Average Despite Saudi Action
Saudi Arabia implemented a unilateral oil production cut of 1 million barrels per day, which was dressed up as an OPEC+ production cut. Outside of the Saudi action, OPEC+ only committed to cut production seven months later in January 2024, and technical adjustments made negligible differences to the group's output. While some commentators believe that the global proxy benchmark Brent may edge closer to $100 per barrel, Monday's trading patterns indicate that the market is sceptical of the efficacy of the cut. The Brent front-month contract was trading at $77.06 per barrel, up $1.05 or 1.38%. The outlook for demand does not inspire confidence, with fears of a global recession and China's economic recovery remaining uneven.

The dynamic within OPEC+ itself is also uncertain, with hardly any member countries appearing to be in the mood to give ground on lowering their output leading to the Saudi's "unilateral" move. The price-supportive move is a near-term strength, but in the medium-term, it highlights a sign of weakness in the OPEC+ dynamic when only one member desires to cut supply in the interest of supporting all prices. The action leaves OPEC+ at the mercy of Saudi Arabia's designs on the oil market, and if the mood in Riyadh were to alter, crude prices would come under additional pressure.

They are beneficial for driving on unpaved and rural mountain roads but do not work well on slushy roads and have less traction on paved roads. They cost anywhere from $100 to $200 per tire and are worth it for those who frequently drive on unplowed, rural roads during the winter. It's important to check state regulations before purchasing them.

Three bank accounts were frozen, which contained at least €100,000 worth of donations, and the group's website was taken down. The raids were ordered by prosecutors in Munich who suspect the group to be a criminal organization. Some have criticized the German government's handling of the activists, including UN Secretary General Antonio Gutteres, who says that climate activists "need to be protected and we need them now more than ever."
