The Epoch Times: North Korean Leader's Sister Vows 2nd Attempt to Launch Spy Satellite, Slams UN Meeting
North Korean Leader's Sister Vows 2nd Attempt to Launch Spy Satellite, Slams UN Meeting
North Korean senior ruling party official, Kim Yo Jong, has criticised the UN Security Council, calling it “a political appendage” of the US. On 9 June, the Emergency meeting of the UN Security Council was convened due to North Korea’s first failed attempt to place a military spy satellite into orbit; the council has banned North Korea from any launch using ballistic technology according to council resolutions. However, Kim Jong Un’s sister said acquiring a spy satellite was a legitimate step to respond to military threats posed by the US and its allies and that North Korea would continue to exercise all the lawful rights of a sovereign state, including the right to a military reconnaissance satellite launch. Pyongyang's earlier attempt to place a spy satellite into Earth orbit failed on 8 June due to a technical malfunction. This is not the first time that North Korea has conveyed its rights to use satellites for military purposes.

North Korea has vowed to push for a second attempt to launch a spy satellite so that it can acquire a sophisticated weapons system to help it to respond to military threats posed by the US and its allies. Since the warning in 2022 of military drills between the US and South Korea, it has carried out more than 100 missile tests and it wants to use its modernized weapons arsenal to wrest concessions from Washington and its partners. However, experts say it will take a few more weeks for North Korea to learn the cause of the first failed launch. The International Maritime Organization may not be notified in advance of future launches by North Korea as part of North Korea's response to the organization's condemnation of North Korean missile tests. Recent U.N. council sessions did not yield toughened sanctions over North Korea's testing activities, as China and Russia, both U.N. council permanent members, blocked the U.S. and other member countries’ attempts to do so.

Breitbart: Children's Choir Singing National Anthem Silenced by Capitol Police
Children's Choir Singing National Anthem Silenced by Capitol Police
Capitol police interrupted a children's choir from South Carolina singing the National Anthem in National Statuary Hall, despite prior written approval from three congressmen. Footage shows a female officer tap the choir director on the shoulder, abruptly ending the performance before the fourth verse. Capitol Police denied stopping the performance due to offensiveness, stating a staffer lied to officers multiple times about having permission from various offices. Capitol Police later apologized for a miscommunication, but it was later revealed that a group of 80 pastors were allowed to sing in the Rotunda without proper approval.

Sonic Boom in Greater DC Was F-16s Responding to Unresponsive Pilot
Two supersonic flights responded to a small plane flying through DC’s restricted airspace. While attempting to draw the pilot's attention, the planes had to alert residents in the area, which resulted in a sonic boom. The Cessna Citation subsequently crashed into a mountainside in southwestern Virginia after the pilot passed out. NORAD confirmed that no survivors were found.

The Cessna 560 aircraft crashed into a mountainside in Virginia, killing everyone on board - the pilot, 50-year-old Heidi Stewart, her 2-year-old granddaughter, Kaidence, and their nanny. FlightAware tracked the aircraft belonging to Florida-based company Encore Motors of Melbourne. The company's owner, John Rumpel, confirmed that they were flying back to East Hampton after visiting him in North Carolina. The FAA and NTSB are now investigating the crash.
