U.S. Federal Court to Hear Challenge to Prince Harry's U.S. Visa
The Heritage Foundation is suing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security over whether proper protocol was followed in granting Prince Harry a U.S. visa. The conservative think tank filed the action after Harry admitted to using drugs in both his home country and California in his memoir, which could disqualify him from being admitted to the U.S. under U.S. immigration law. The think tank is also seeking to have Harry's file unsealed, stating immense public interest.

Former Texas Councilwoman Arrested Over Petition That Rankled Other Officials Appeals to Supreme Court - The New American
Former Texas councilwoman appealing to the Supreme Court after being arrested for tampering with a government record. Sylvia Gonzalez organized a citizen's petition calling for the removal of City Manager Ryan Rapelye, before being arrested. A court of appeals overturned a district court's decision because Gonzalez could not cite another individual who was not arrested for doing precisely what she was accused of doing, thereby establishing that her arrest was based on animus toward her political speech.

Red State: Climate Activists Are Trying to Fire Toyota's Chairman for Questioning Their EV Obsession
Climate Activists Are Trying to Fire Toyota's Chairman for Questioning Their EV Obsession
Leftist investors are pushing for the ousting of Toyota's current chairman, Akio Toyoda, for questioning the feasibility of transitioning to all-electric vehicles by 2023. The California Public Employees’ Retirement System and the Office of the New York City Comptroller have already voted against Toyoda's re-election and are urging Toyota to improve the disclosure of its lobbying on climate change. However, some believe these complaints about Toyoda's position are only a pretext for punishing him for questioning the West's obsession with electric vehicles. Toyota argues that plug-in hybrids could be a better alternative to relying solely on EVs, due to their lower cost and range anxiety alleviation.

Fox News: Media hailed 'most diverse' Democratic field in 2020 but mum on diversity of 2024 GOP hopefuls
Media hailed 'most diverse' Democratic field in 2020 but mum on diversity of 2024 GOP hopefuls
The media lavished attention on the diversity of the 2020 Democratic primary field, with a record number of candidates including seven racial minorities and one who was openly gay. However, as the Republican primary field for 2024 grows more racially diverse, the legacy media has not been nearly as interested. Nikki Haley and Tim Scott, both racial minorities, have faced attacks from the media, with Haley accused of using her "Brown skin to launder White supremacist talking points," and Scott being likened to a domesticated dog. Vivek Ramaswamy believes that the Republican Party should reject prioritizing diversity and instead focus on the diversity of perspectives among its candidates.

National Review: DOJ’s Pence Decision Lays Groundwork for Excusing Biden While Prosecuting Trump
DOJ’s Pence Decision Lays Groundwork for Excusing Biden While Prosecuting Trump
The Justice Department has advised attorneys for former Vice President Mike Pence that the investigation of his mishandling of classified information has been closed without charges. This decision sets the groundwork for prosecutors to similarly close the investigation of President Biden himself for mishandling classified information, while the Biden administration appears primed to prosecute former President Donald Trump for the same offense under the guise of obstruction. Pence had approximately a dozen classified documents found in his Indiana residence, all of which were promptly returned to the proper government repositories, and Pence voluntarily consented to FBI searches of his home and private office. The Espionage Act, which deals with government officials who violate the trust reposed in them by exhibiting gross negligence, is rarely enforced as written, and the relaxed enforcement became particularly inconvenient in 2021. As such, it was primed to indict Trump over his document retention at Mar-a-Lago, notwithstanding the egregiousness of the misconduct that was excused in Clinton's case, until Pence's offense became a boon for the prosecutors, who can now argue that its inevitable decision not to recommend charges against Biden is not special treatment. Instead, the prosecutors will reframe Trump's offenses as an obstruction case rather than an illegal-retention-of-classified-information case.

WashPost Front Page Warns of Violent 'Far Right Fringe' Hijacking Target Stores
Conservative backlash against Target's "Pride" merchandise has led to boycotts and bomb threats, prompting the retailer to pull promotional materials from store windows. Critics argue that equal rights merchandise in Kohl's, Walmart, and PetSmart has also faced backlash from conservative groups, with influential individuals reportedly exploiting TikTok and right-wing media to fuel the campaign. The Washington Post has labeled the boycotts as "anti-democracy" and linked the protestors to far-right extremism, while experts on extremism have warned that such threats and harassment must be planned for by stores that back down in the face of such attacks.

Forbes: Morgan Stanley Says S&P 500 Will Slide 9% By Year's End--But These Stocks Could Weather The Storm
Morgan Stanley Says S&P 500 Will Slide 9% By Year's End--But These Stocks Could Weather The Storm
Morgan Stanley predicts that the S&P 500 will lose all year-to-date gains as the market adjusts to a negative macro environment. Analysts set a year-end target of 3,900, an 8.9% decrease from the 10-month high. However, they suggest that equities in the consumer staple sector or with strong pricing power, the highest returns on capital investment, and buy ratings may weather the upcoming storm.

Breitbart: Net Zero Green Taxes to Increase Grocery Prices by £4 Billion Per Year
Net Zero Green Taxes to Increase Grocery Prices by £4 Billion Per Year
The Conservative Party's net zero taxes on groceries will increase food bills for the UK public by £4 billion annually. Retailers warn that the government's scheme for Extended Producer Responsibility with the aim to impose packing recycling taxes will increase grocery bills by at least £140 per year per consumer. However, the UK government claims that the taxes are necessary to impose the highest tax burden on the public since World War II and is seeking to subsidize the recycling of packaging at the supermarket.

The government is intent on taking more money out of the pockets of Britons with a series of taxes, rather than seeking to ease their burden after suffering from crippling inflation after the state-imposed coronavirus lockdowns. Despite rampant inflation resulting in commodities such as bread and cereal reaching a 45-year high, the Conservative Party still claims that it is necessary to impose the highest tax burden on the public since the Second World War. Retailers are now cautioning the Government, stating that their policies risk inflation getting out of control and the Government needs to consider whether to implement, postpone or scrap each one.

England is set to trial Universal Basic Income, or a wealth sharing programme with 30 residents receiving £1,600 a month with no requirements. The pilot scheme organised by the Autonomy think tank will be conducted in Jarrow, North East England, and East Finchley, North London. Opponents of the scheme argue that it may create perverse incentives and place a heavy strain on public finances.

Defense secretary's new guidance on drag shows on military bases has immediate impact: Report
Multiple military installations have canceled planned Pride Month drag shows after a Defense Department ban. The shows on Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada and Ramstein Air Base in Germany have been scrapped as a result of a reported directive from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin which was sparked by the recent scrutiny the military bases drew. GOP senators have passed legislation that would ban the shows on installations. The cancellations came after "giving intense scrutiny in recent weeks and were described as "a threat to our national security and gross misuse of taxpayer funds".

Father James Martin: Gay Pride Compatible with Sacred Heart of Jesus
Jesuit Father James Martin claims that celebrating Gay Pride and devotion to the Sacred Heart are compatible, as they both teach about Jesus' love. LGBTQ Catholics celebrate both Pride Month and the Month of the Sacred Heart. Many have expressed puzzlement, as Pride seems opposed to devotion to the Sacred Heart. Father Martin has previously been criticized by Catholic prelates for supporting immoral sexual behavior.

It has been nearly 20 years since the NBA expanded, and Seattle believes it is the best-positioned city for a new team after losing the SuperSonics in 2008.
