The Epoch Times: Man Tased by LAPD Officers Died From Effects of Enlarged Heart, Cocaine Use: Coroner
Keenan Anderson, a D.C. school teacher and cousin of Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, died from an enlarged heart and cocaine use after being Tased by LAPD officers following a traffic collision. Anderson had fled on foot and was restrained by multiple officers who reportedly used wrist locks and hobbling techniques, and a Taser. His family has filed a $50 million damages claim against the city, alleging excessive force and racial bias. The Los Angeles Police Protective League union defended the use of the Taser, saying it was needed to gain compliance due to Anderson's resistance.
The Epoch Times: Disarming the Law-Abiding Citizen
The Western Australian government plans to overhaul firearms legislation, with new restrictions already passed in May. The possession of a firearm and acts of self-defence are allowed only under limited circumstances, raising concerns about citizens' ability to protect themselves. Banning firearms does not prevent criminals from obtaining weapons, and the evidence does not support claims that access to firearms increases suicide rates. There are also concerns about the government imposing added costs and burdens on law-abiding citizens.
Fox News: Prospect of a Kamala Harris presidency roasted as VP's poll numbers sink: 'She's gotten worse'
Critics are worried about Vice President Kamala Harris’ low approval ratings and constant gaffes, with some saying she is a “Biden fall away” from entering the White House. A mid-May Monmouth poll saw Harris’ approval rating at 37%, while an April Fox News poll found 43% of voters approve of her job performance. Some Democrats are in a conundrum because they can’t get rid of Harris, as angering a portion of their electorate could result in lost votes. However, many agree that Harris is not helping out the ticket in any way.

Red State: One Thousand Climbers Ascend the 2,200 Steps of One World Trade Center to Raise $1 Million for Tunnel to Towers Foundation
Over 1,000 people climb 104 floors of One World Trade Center to raise money for first responders in need via the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families and builds specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Frank Siller, T2T chairman and CEO, reflects on the heroism of first responders who saved over 25,000 lives on 9/11, including his own brother Stephen, who died while rescuing others. The foundation provided 30 homes for families of US military servicemembers and first responders killed in action in 2023, for Memorial Day.
The Epoch Times: Woke, Crony Capitalism Takes Hold Down Under
Large corporations in Australia are increasingly backing woke causes, bludgeoning everyone over with political issues. This form of crony capitalism is bad for the country, as businesses become obsessed with their role in shaping the masses. Companies are corralled into obedience due to fear of economic retaliation from both external and internal threats, leading to an unhealthy relationship with the government that can coerce business. Ultimately, society becomes sectarian and trust is lost in a highly divisive era, damaging not only business, but also the retirement prospects of ordinary citizens.

Spectator USA: How the ‘trauma’ cult took over mental health
The widespread use of the word “trauma” has become a hyperbolic virus in today’s society, with psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, educators, politicians, and celebrities all propagating its usage. The word has been politicized and become a secular religion, with its inexorable creep into common parlance the culmination of a sustained campaign to politicize healthcare over the last thirty years. This has resulted in the resurrection of Sigmund Freud’s theories about childhood development and their fusion with social justice concerns, all leading to a misguided belief that childhood trauma irreparably damages the brain and causes addiction, disease, and mental illness.
The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACE) has exacerbated this problem. While it initially posited that sexually abused and obese patients had repressed traumatic memories, it later evolved into a pseudoscientific theory about childhood trauma leading to addiction, disease, and brain damage. However, there were several significant flaws with the ACE study, including the subjective, vague wording of the questions, and its misinterpretation of data, leading to disastrous ramifications for the mental health of younger generations. Trauma has now morphed into other snappy, made-up disorders such as “complex-trauma,” “developmental-trauma,” and “relational-trauma,” which are scientifically unverifiable but popular due to narratives that cater to professionals’ and the public’s beliefs. Unless we stop using the word trauma for everything, we risk diluting its meaning and services for those who truly need it.
Human Events: Detransitioned UK man, parent of trans child take legal action
against NHS Adult Gender Clinics to demand more safeguards
Detranistioner Ritchie Herron and a father of a trans-identified male are bringing a judicial review against the UK's Adult Gender Clinics over the safety of the National Health Service treatments for gender dysphoria in those under 25. They seek to challenge the failure of the NHS to provide appropriate treatment for adults suffering from gender dysphoria, and to stop the genital removal surgery for children, claiming the care provided is "unsafe." More than 8,000 young people are currently on the waiting list for the Tavistock Clinic, which is set to close after a review of care showed their model of treatment leaves young people "at considerable risk."

The Epoch Times: Our Brain Shape May Matters More Than We Think
A new study challenges the hypothesis that the patterns of connections between neurons are controlling the brain function, proposing instead that the shape of the brain influences it more. Based on the concept of "eigenmodes", the research by Australia's Monash University concluded that shapes offer the most accurate account of different activation patterns, based on MRI scans of 255 subjects. Although the study does not diminish the role of the communication between the nerve cells, the new approach could open possibilities to explore how brain shape affects function through evolution, development and aging, and in brain disease.
