Dallas restaurants and bakeries are selling surplus food, including pastries and prepared meals, at discounted rates to reduce food waste. Mystery bags of food from over 95 local businesses are being sold for a third of the retail value through new-to-Dallas app, Too Good To Go. Customers select the business they want to purchase from, but not what exactly they will be getting. The app, launched in Europe in 2016, now operates in 17 countries with the goal of reducing global food waste.

A federal judge in Tennessee has deemed the state's law banning adult cabaret performances as unconstitutional. The plaintiff, Friends of George's, a nonprofit that produces "drag-centric performances, comedy sketches, and plays," brought the suit. The judge wrote that the law was "passed for the impermissible purpose of chilling constitutionally-protected speech," adding that the state did not meet its burden to ensure the law was "narrowly tailored and the least restrictive means to advance Tennessee's interest."
