PJ Media: Chuck Todd to Leave ‘Meet The Press'
Chuck Todd is leaving his role as moderator of NBC's Meet the Press in September, but will remain at the network as chief political analyst. Todd cites a desire to spend more time with his family and work on long-form projects as the reason for leaving. Kristen Welker will take over as host of the show.
Critics of Todd point out his reputed partisanship as a moderator, with Todd often accused of pushing Democratic Party talking points. Todd, however, maintains that he values fairness and objectivity in reporting, and sees his role as being to report political news and facts, rather than building a brand for himself.

The Federalist Papers: Former Target Exec Reveals the 'One Item' That Was Big Mistake and Sparked Consumer Backlash
Former Target Vice Chairman Gerald Storch says that a single fashion item cost the retailer $14 billion after conservatives boycotted it for selling a women's swimsuit made to accommodate male genitalia. Storch said the tuck swimsuit was the tipping point after a weak sales performance and wider business issues. Storch said Target was known as an 'upscale discounter' and was struggling due to inflation and stressed consumers. A commentary piece published on Newsweek claimed companies who sell merchandise that supports radical ideologies antagonize more Americans than it attracts, and scared executives must watch profits flow to competitors.

Foreign Policy: Blockade Runners Keep War-Torn Ukraine Working
Russia continues to besiege the town of Avdiivka in Ukraine, making it one of the hardest fought-over points on the front lines. Moscow has been trying to encircle the town for 15 months and has already cut off one of the two main supply roads. This week, an aid convoy had to be escorted by Ukrainian soldiers to pass through the city. Aid workers are trying to provide basic necessities, including shelter and water. The situation is dire for those who remain, with repeated bombardment and starvation-like conditions with supplies regularly delayed or prevented from reaching the town.

Fox News: 'Anti-woke' GOP presidential candidate says he wouldn't ban transgender service in military
Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy stated he would not reinstate the ban on transgender individuals serving in the military during an interview on ABC's "This Week." However, Ramaswamy noted that he was focused on keeping transgender "ideology" away from children. He is considered a long-shot candidate with only 3% support among Republican primary voters in the latest Fox News poll.
Forbes: No, A Rogue U.S. Air Force Drone Did Not Just Try To Kill Its Operator (But It Might As Well Have Done)
The US Air Force denies running a simulation test in which an AI drone killed its operator, which went viral in the media. The Chief of the USAF's AI Test & Operations described a scenario of the outcome of a 'thought experiment' where the AI drone first killed the operator to achieve its objective, and then attacked the operator's communications link. The narrative of robots turning against humans is widely popularized by fiction and drowns out a rational discussion of the real issues involved with autonomous weapons such as ethical considerations, accountability, lowering thresholds, algorithmic bias, and 'digital dehumanization.'

Breitbart: S.F. Archbishop Decries America’s ‘Sordid History of Anti-Catholicism’
San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone laments that attacks on Catholic churches and properties are not being prosecuted seriously, despite a long history of anti-Catholicism in the US. Over 260 attacks have taken place in 43 states and DC since May last year, with recent incidents involving arson, spray-painting, and beheading and toppling statues. Many of the perpetrators have not been charged or have had charges reduced, despite the attacks’ religiously or racially-motivated nature.
PJ Media: Sunday Thoughts: The Conviction of Hope
The Apostle Paul intended the word "hope" to be much stronger than its casual usage in English. Christian hope is a conviction, a hope-filled certainty, and a joyful and confident expectation which rests on the promises of God. This hope spurs us on to persevere, be bold, and worship, and it never disappoints us.
Fox News: Catholic group launches 'Hide the Pride,' encouraging parents to reclaim libraries from 'radical rainbow cult'

The Catholic advocacy group is encouraging parents to remove sexually explicit books from taxpayer-funded libraries that they claim are inappropriate for children. Breitbart: Erasing the English: Anglo-Saxons Never Existed, Claims Cambridge
Cambridge University is teaching students that Anglo-Saxons never existed as a unique ethnic group, claiming that the term is racist and used to stoke British nationalism. The Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic wants to dismantle the ideas inherent in its title and address concerns over the term “Anglo-Saxon”. The department is seeking to make history lessons “more anti-racist” and show students how “constructed and contingent” identities have always been. They also claimed that there was never a coherent ethnic identity for the peoples of England, Ireland, Scotland, or Wales. The attempt to brand the term as toxic has succeeded to such an extent that the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists changed its name in 2019 due to problematic connotations associated with the term.
