Six months after Assad’s ouster, Syria faces major security, economic challenges
Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa has made strides in establishing international recognition and lifting sanctions since the fall of Bashar al-Assad. However, he faces significant challenges in rebuilding national institutions, stabilizing the economy, and uniting a fractured country amid ongoing sectarian violence and political complexities.

With various factions vying for power, Sharaa's government must navigate tensions between minority groups and address security concerns linked to extremist fighters. The U.S. has shown cautious support for integrating former rebel fighters into the national army, while efforts to attract foreign investment and rehabilitate infrastructure are crucial for stabilizing the war-torn nation.

GB News: Centuries-old cold case finally solved after researchers identify mysterious remains on Jersey shore
Centuries-old cold case finally solved after researchers identify mysterious remains on Jersey shore
Researchers at Ramapo College of New Jersey have identified skeletal remains found on three beaches as belonging to 19th-century ship's captain Henry Goodsell, who died at sea in 1844. The remains were analyzed using advanced DNA technology, confirming Goodsell's identity.

The bones, discovered between 1995 and 2013, were linked to Goodsell's ship, the schooner Oriental, which sank while carrying marble to Philadelphia. His family has chosen not to reclaim the remains, which will remain at a state repository.
