Migrants Charged by Texas Police for Breaching Border Barriers
Texas law enforcement is charging migrants with criminal trespass for attempting to cross the border in downtown Eagle Pass. The migrants, hailing from Honduras and Venezuela, were arrested by Highway Patrol troopers after moving through a stretch of concertina wire. The state is enforcing the charge in areas between the two Eagle Pass Ports of Entry, meaning migrants will not be handed over to Border Patrol. Under Governor Greg Abbott's Operation Lone Star, out of state resources are assisting Texas authorities with border security enforcement, and the charge of criminal trespass carries a fine of up to $2,000 or up to 180 days of jail.

Possible human remains matching some of the characteristics of eight missing young people have been discovered in dozens of bags in a gorge near Guadalajara. The state prosecutor's office in Jalisco said the remains were being inspected, but did not confirm whether the missing young people were among them. Firefighters and civil defence authorities are working to recover more remains from the gorge. More than 110,000 people are missing in Mexico, with Jalisco containing 15,000. Thousands of other unidentified remains are located in cemeteries across the country.
