The Epoch Times: 3 Activists Against Atlanta's 'Cop City' Hit With Money Laundering, Charity Fraud Charges
3 Activists Against Atlanta's 'Cop City' Hit With Money Laundering, Charity Fraud Charges
Three members of Atlanta Solidarity Fund (ASF) have been arrested on charges of money laundering and charity fraud. The group had been protesting against the construction of the $90m Atlanta Public Safety Training Centre, which is known as “Cop City”. The protestors are accused of unlawful activity including violence and property damage. Prosecutors allege that evidence shows ASF members engaged in acts of vandalism, were involved in challenging and intimidating judges and police officers, and posted information containing the personal details of these officials online. The ASF has protested against the “Cop City” scheme because they argue it will produce violent police officers and will be established on natural land that should be protected.
