Times Of Israel: CIA chief says strike on metal conversion site set Iran nuclear program back by years
CIA Director John Ratcliffe informed US lawmakers that recent military strikes effectively destroyed Iran's sole metal conversion facility, significantly hindering Tehran's nuclear ambitions for years. While some enriched uranium remains intact at other sites, the loss of the facility is seen as a critical blow to Iran's ability to develop nuclear weapons.
Despite the damage, International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Grossi cautioned that some capabilities still exist, and Iran's ambassador to the UN reaffirmed the country’s commitment to enriching uranium. Israeli assessments indicate that Iran's nuclear program has been set back considerably, but concerns remain about its potential to recover.
