Fox News: End Biden's weak border policies by passing this commonsense security measure
President Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have overseen a national security and humanitarian crisis at our southern border. Over the course of Biden’s presidency, we’ve seen over 6.3 million illegal border crossings, including 1.3 million known got-aways. Republicans seek immediate action with the Secure the Border Act to reinstate Trump-era policies and end the exploitation of unaccompanied immigrant children.
American taxpayers pay nearly $162 billion yearly for services and benefits provided to illegal immigrants. President Biden has demonstrated that he’s more than happy to let the chaos at the border fester and leave border communities to fend for themselves. The Secure the Border Act would add more agents, update border enforcement technology, and end the administration’s catch-and-release policy. It can’t wait – now is the time for the Senate to pass and the president to sign into law the Secure the Border Act to protect American families.
National Review: The Corner: A Border Fence Was a Bipartisan Idea before Trump
Almost all 2024 GOP candidates support building a border wall, a concept that most Republican candidates mocked or criticized during the 2016 primary. The policy of building a border barrier was a mainstream and bipartisan idea before Trump became its champion, with a majority of Senate Democrats voting for the Secure Fence Act in 2006.

Red State: The Supreme Court Is Gearing Up for a Major Battle Over Taxes
The Supreme Court has a conservative majority and has delivered a mixed bag for conservatives this term. However, there is a case, Moore v. United States, that involves a tax bill for money that was never received. The Moores invested in a start-up in India but were hit with a massive tax bill through the Mandatory Repatriation Tax, even though they never saw any money from their holdings. The Democrats want to continue to tax unrealized gains, but a ruling that upholds the Ninth Circuit could open the door for Congress to tax wealth and property of all kinds, including art and collectibles. This fundamentally upends how business is done in the United States and can cost Americans much-needed jobs.

Fox News: Supreme Court justices rule state lawmakers do not have exclusive control over elections in key decision
The Supreme Court ruled that judges can override state legislatures on federal elections. Moore v. Harper focused on redistricting maps, disputed by state lawmakers seeking control over federal elections. The majority Democrat State Supreme Court found Republican-drawn maps unconstitutional, ultimately using court-drawn maps for the midterm elections. The GOP legislature argued for the "independent state legislature" doctrine, granting state legislatures unqualified authority over how elections are conducted. The case could affect the security of elections nationwide.
The New American: Feds, With Assist From ACLU, Try to Punish Mortgage Company for Comments on Chicago Crime - The New American
Chicago-based mortgage company, Townstone Financial, is being sued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) over five episodes of the lender’s radio show recorded between 2014 and 2017. The episodes contained what the agency calls 'inaccurate and discriminatory' comments about crime in certain Chicago neighbourhoods, and were designed to discourage African-American applicants from applying for loans, a charge the company denies. Townstone is fighting the charges. The matter has been complicated by the American Civil Liberties Union filing a brief in favour of the CFPB.

Breitbart: Condoleezza Rice: Telling People They Can't Succeed Due to Racism Robs Them of Agency, My Parents Didn't Tell Me That in '60s Alabama
Condoleezza Rice responds to the debate over race between former President Barack Obama and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) on Fox News. She states that African Americans can succeed despite the challenges of being black in America and that telling them they can't takes away their agency. Rice shares that even growing up in Alabama in the 1960s, her parents never said she couldn't achieve even if society was against her and that hard work will lead to success. She believes that taking away agency from African Americans by saying they can't succeed due to a stacked system is wrong.
Liberty Nation: East Palestine Listens and Learns – But Will NTSB Simply File and Forget?
A toxic derailment of Norfolk Southern Railway freight train 32N outside East Palestine, OH, has left communities rattled. Transcripts of witness testimony show miscommunication, ignored warnings, and inadequate safety measures. Norfolk Southern was told to implement enhanced safety measures immediately. The lack of communication from Norfolk Southern to local first responders was a chilling discovery. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is writing an official report to prevent future derailments and hazmat releases from harming communities.
American Thinker: Atlantic writer complains about too many choices at the grocery store
The Atlantic writer Adam Fleming suggests having too many choices in grocery stores is a bad thing. He believes the number of options can be overwhelming, decided he did not want to buy orange juice because of the number of brands, configurations and niche organic labels. He believes single option stores are an antidote to the paralysis of choice. But this argument is just personal preference and should not be forced onto everyone.

Breitbart: Criminal Investigation Dropped as Wagner Hands Over Weapons to Russia
The investigation against Yevgeny Prigozhin and his former allies has been dropped by the Russian prosecutor, while the FSB has also announced they have found no charges to answer. However, this appears to conflict with President Putin's recent remarks on the attempted insurrection, saying that "treasonous" rebels would be "brought to justice". Despite the charges being dropped, Prigozhin's whereabouts remain unknown, with his private jet flying to Belarus on Tuesday morning.
While the Russian government may be absorbing Wagner fighters into the army, they are no longer to be trusted with "heavy military equipment", which is being transferred to the active units of the Russian Armed Forces. Last week, Wagner PMC turned on their paymasters, capturing Rostov on Don using their own tanks and anti-aircraft missile batteries. Afterward, the whereabouts of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner boss, remain unknown, though his private jet landed in Belarus on Tuesday.
National Review: ‘Highly Likely’ Ukraine Recaptured Territories Lost to Russia as Far Back as 2014, U.K. Defense Ministry Says
The UK Ministry of Defense believes Ukraine has recaptured territories lost to Russia in 2014, marking the first such instance since the 2022 invasion. However, the offensive has been slowed by Russian minefields. On Saturday, the Wagner Group took control of vast parts of southern Russia and stopped outside Moscow after negotiations with Putin and Lukashenko led to an agreement. Prigozhin, leader of Wagner, confirmed in a statement that his forces were "turning around" and returning to field camps.
Daily Wire: Criminal Investigation Into Prigozhin And Soldiers Who Mounted Rebellion Dropped
Russian officials have closed the criminal investigation into Yevgeny Prigozhin and his Wagner Group after they took over a Russian military headquarters and moved towards Moscow in a challenge to President Putin. The Federal Security Service said on Tuesday that since Prigozhin's group had "ceased activities directed at committing the crime," the criminal investigation into them would not move forward. Prigozhin may still be exiled from Russia and sent to Belarus.

Flag And Cross: Israel PM Warns US On Iran Nuclear Deal
Israel faces a dilemma in dealing with Iran's nuclear program. Attacking Iran could trigger a regional war, resulting in Israeli deaths. However, a nuclear Iran threatens nine million Israelis. Jews worldwide realized after the Holocaust that a Jewish state was a moral imperative for their survival. Despite this, Israel will not be bound by any deal with Iran and will act alone if necessary. The Biden administration's response in support of Israel is uncertain, as progressive views often prefer Jews as victims.

Daily Wire: Woke Disney Lost Almost $900 Million On Last 8 Films: Report
Film analyst estimates that Disney lost nearly $900 million on its last eight releases, including “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “The Little Mermaid,” due to the company consuming all of its own content post-theatrical and refusing to license its films to other streaming services and companies, which has resulted in billions of dollars worth of third-party contracts being taken off the table.
The analyst measured the performances of the films against their marketing budgets in the last 12 months, estimating that the total costs amounted to $2,750,000,000, and estimated that for the eight films, Disney’s total returns amounted to $1.861 billion, resulting in a loss of $890 million. The box office numbers do not take into account the expenditures by the studio and the distributor to produce and market the films, and the figures do not include the economic opportunity costs that Disney had by refusing to license its films to other streaming services and companies.
Breitbart: Start Walking: NY Cleared to Impose $23 Levy on Drivers Entering City
New York City plans to implement a "congestion charge" in 2024, imposing tolls of up to $23 per day for drivers entering Manhattan south of 60th Street in an effort to reduce congestion and promote public transportation. The plan was approved by the Federal Highway Administration, with the Biden administration publicly backing the program. At the same time, pizzerias using coal or wood-burning ovens are ordered to reduce their carbon emissions by 75 percent or face fines. Taxi and car service drivers object to the plan, saying it will make fares unaffordable.

Breitbart: ‘Barbie’ Star Kate McKinnon Says Movie Sends Powerful Message ‘About Gender Roles’
Actresses Kate McKinnon and Issa Rae hint at the themes that the upcoming Barbie movie will touch upon. The stars discuss how Mattel let the filmmakers get away with the movie they wanted, which acknowledges some of the issues with Barbie while having a relevant conversation about the world today. The script explores how gender roles deny people half their humanity and how we need to just be ourselves. McKinnon says that Ken as a character is just an accessory, while Rae talks about Ken being a supportive part of Barbie’s “can do everything” world.

Forbes: UFC Hall Of Famer Royce Gracie Settles Tax Fraud Cases With IRS
UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie has finally settled his tax dispute with the IRS, bringing to a close a four-year battle over allegations that he fraudulently evaded paying more than $657,000 in federal taxes. The IRS accused Gracie of hiding money he earned internationally and disguising corporate income as personal loans, amongst other claims, enabling him to appear as if he had no tax liabilities between 2007-2012. As part of the settlement, Gracie's personal tax liability was reduced to $461,611.80, with his corporate tax deficiency standing at $85,146.
Forbes: Maggie Haberman: CNN Audio Tape Of Trump ‘Most Damning Piece Of Evidence’
Former President Donald Trump is caught on audio discussing secret government documents that he did not declassify, which is a critical piece of evidence in the federal case against him for mishandling of classified government information. The recording, obtained by CNN, also contradicts Trump's public comments about the case. NYT correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman calls it "the most damning piece of evidence" in Trump's case.
During the audio recording, Trump seems to indicate he was holding a secret Pentagon document detailing U.S. plans to attack Iran. He says "these are the papers" while discussing the Pentagon attack plans, and refers to something he calls "highly confidential" while shuffling through papers. This contradicts Trump's public claim that there was no such document and that the allegations were based on newspaper and magazine stories. This conversation is a critical piece of evidence in Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment of Trump.

Flag And Cross: Pterosaurs Thrived In Antarctic Forests Over 100 Million Years Ago
Pterosaurs lived in Antarctica over 100 million years ago and thrived despite the harsh conditions, according to new research. Scientists analyzed pterosaur bones discovered in Australia more than 30 years ago and found evidence that the winged reptiles, which were close cousins to the dinosaurs and could reach the size of airplanes, survived by feeding on fish and small land animals. The fossils belonged to two individuals, with one having a wingspan of more than six and a half feet. Researchers hope to determine whether pterosaurs were able to adapt to polar conditions or had to migrate north during the harsh winters to breed.

All Outdoor: Saltwater Fly Fishing - Gear and Tricks for Landing Big Fish
Saltwater fly fishing doesn't have to be expensive. You can have a great time with the right gear at the right price. A standard single-hand or Spey rod is enough, and a 9- to 10-Wt, 9-foot rod will manage just fine. You'll also want a slick weight-forward line with a long, heavy taper, and saltwater species will attack anything they perceive as prey. Practice your cast, don't forget UV protection, and keep your rod pointed at the water.

Spectator USA: Instant communication has killed conversation
In our age of instant communication, there is no certainty that messages will reach their intended recipient. Channels like WhatsApp and text messages can fail and emails might be sent to junk without our knowledge. Technological failings are compounded by human failings - people forgetting which platform they were contacted on. It is a communication lottery and we never know whether our ticket will be a winning or losing one.
