Fox News: Mother of Buffalo shooting survivor faces off against former mayoral candidate in local New York primaries
Two Black women, India Walton and Zeneta Everhart, are running for a seat on Buffalo's Common Council in New York. Both women have suffered tragedies with Everhart's son surviving a racist mass shooting and Walton losing her bid for Buffalo's mayoral race in 2021. With no Republican candidate, Walton looked like a sure winner in the general election, but Brown came back as a write-in candidate and won with the support of centrist Democrats, Buffalo's business community and Republicans who said Walton was too liberal. Walton is a former nurse and labor organizer who ran far to the left as a democratic socialist, while Everhart emphasizes her abilities as a coalition-builder.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled forced government-union fees as unconstitutional. Radical transformation seen in labor movement, evidenced by decline of at least 8.5% in public-sector-union membership since 2017. Fox News: New York receives federal approval to charge Manhattan drivers in an attempt to reduce congestion
New York City has received federal approval to charge big tolls for driving into highly congested parts of Manhattan, with drivers potentially being charged up to $23 a day. The program could begin in spring 2024 and aims to reduce traffic, improve air quality, and raise funds for public transport systems. The tolls are expected to generate a yearly revenue of $1 billion, which will be used to upgrade the subway, bus, and commuter rail systems operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The plan has faced opposition from officials in New Jersey and taxi and car service drivers, who argue it would make fares unaffordable.
American Thinker: It's time to celebrate freedom the whole month of July
Why does the far left get multiple months of celebration while important events for freedom get only a few days? Many patriots are asking why we don't celebrate freedom for the whole month of July. The fascist far left co-opt more of our society for their political purposes, but we should celebrate the Declaration of Independence and its eternal concepts.

American Thinker: America’s parents must teach their kids to be ideological commandos
Queerdom is coming for America's children through the destruction of traditional families and perverting of children to woke ideology in government schools. Middle schoolers are fighting back against the agenda through counter-demonstrations and walkouts. The solution lies in cultivating the parental school, teaching children essential truths, and harnessing their energy to stand for what is right.

National Review: The Tragedy of Russia
A mercenary group leader's brief armed revolt against Russia's military leadership fills out the picture of the country's long history of attempted rebellions, coups and assassinations. Russia's lack of achieving Western standards of self-government is apparent in its brutal and incompetent invasion of Ukraine. Russia's distance from the Western standard is why a country that is a member of the U.N. Security Council and the G-20 and considers itself a great power could have a crisis with a distinct third-world flavor. Establishing a norm of the peaceful transfer of power is one of the most valuable achievements of the modern West, without it you get a Vladimir Putin fleeing his capital in fear and a Yevgeny Prigozhin likely to experience an unfortunate fall out of a window sometime soon.

Forbes: Walgreens Profits Tumble To $118 Million On ‘Significantly Lower Demand’ For Covid Vaccine And Tests
Walgreens Boots Alliance's quarterly profits plummeted to $118 million, less than half of what they were a year ago, due to significantly lower demand for COVID-related services. COVID-19 related sales of vaccines and tests were a big money maker for drugstore chains like Walgreens, contributing to the loss of COVID-related revenue. Walgreens has lowered its earnings per share guidance for the rest of 2023 to $4.00 to $4.05 from $4.45 to $4.65 previously due to challenging consumer and macroeconomic conditions, and lower COVID-19 vaccine and testing volumes. Walgreens is taking "immediate actions," including another $600 million in cost-cutting to maintain growth and improve operations.
