The Epoch Times: IN-DEPTH: Vivek Ramaswamy Sparks Excitement, Skepticism Among New Hampshire Libertarians
2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy spoke at the annual Porcupine Freedom Festival held in New Hampshire by the Free State Project, a group that aims to make the state more libertarian-minded. He discussed his proposal to raise the voting age to 25 for those who don't pass a civics test or undergo national service, with some audience members expressing skepticism. Some at the festival were concerned about Ramaswamy's foreign policy, while others praised his efforts to scale back the government bureaucracy. The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire's leader, Robley Hall, said he believes Ramaswamy is sincere in his intentions but has yet to grasp the scope of the challenge.
The Epoch Times: EXCLUSIVE: US Bid to Rejoin UN Education Agency Could be Derailed by House GOP
The United States is formally seeking to rejoin the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), despite an ongoing scandal involving the agency. The decision, which may be scuttled by lawmakers in Congress, has been criticized by opponents as it is expected to cost U.S. taxpayers more than $500 million just to rejoin, with additional funding expected each year. While the Biden administration and defenders of the move argue that rejoining the agency would help counter the influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), critics contend that it would actually boost the CCP's power and benefit other forces hostile to U.S. interests and allies such as Israel.
The Trump administration withdrew U.S. support for UNESCO in 2017 citing numerous issues including anti-Semitism, waste, corruption, extremism, and CCP influence in the organization. The Obama administration had previously stopped U.S. taxpayer funding to UNESCO after federal laws barred aid for international organizations accepting the “State of Palestine” as a member. With Democrats getting ready to hand over power in the House of Representatives, Congress later approved the omnibus bill with a waiver allowing the Biden administration to fund UNESCO if it believed the move would serve U.S. interests. However, critics have raised concerns about the impact on U.S. classrooms and point to widespread flaws within UNESCO that could harm U.S. interests.
Fox News: Biden torched for denying knowledge of Hunter's 'business deals:' 'Even lies about lying'
President Biden denied lying about never having conversations with son Hunter regarding his business dealings, despite a recent revelation from an IRS whistleblower that Hunter had referred to his father while conducting business deals with a Chinese partner. Biden was criticized on Twitter by commentators calling him out as dishonest, with some suggesting the scandal is evidence of corrupt dealings. Although some lawmakers have called for transparency from the White House, the DOJ and FBI have refused to comment.
The Epoch Times: Gaetz, Greene Announce Move to Defund Director of ATF
Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene seek to defund the ATF using the Holman Rule, claiming it has been "weaponized" against US citizens by the Biden administration. The representatives argue that the ATF has abused its rulemaking authority, legislating through the executive and making a mockery of the separation of powers mandated by the Constitution. They specifically criticized the agency's "zero tolerance" policy towards federal firearms licenses, which has led to an increase in license revocations, citing instances where clerical errors resulted in revocation. Local gun store owners and manufacturers have testified to the negative impact of the policies during a field hearing in June.
Breitbart: Indiana Joe: Jeffrey Katzenberg Tells Biden to 'Own' His Old Age, like Harrison Ford
President Biden is being advised by his friend, Jeffrey Katzenberg, to embrace his advanced age, like Harrison Ford or Mick Jagger. Biden's frailty and gaffes have hurt his popularity even among Democrats. Only 32% of voters approve of his job performance, according to Civiqs’ rolling average. Katzenberg has pledged to deliver all the resources that Biden will need to win re-election in 2024, and he is confident that the campaign can raise more than the $1 billion in contributions received during the 2020 race.
The Epoch Times: Olivia Chow Elected Mayor of Toronto

Daily Wire: Biden Administration ‘Colluded’ With Big Tech To Censor Americans, House Lawmakers Report Says
Lawmakers accuse Biden Administration & DHS of colluding with Big Tech to suppress free speech of American citizens by censoring social media through government-funded third-party intermediaries. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) allegedly censored 2020 presidential election and 2022 midterm election related content and exploited its connections with Big Tech and government-funded non-profits to censor by proxy. CISA was intended to focus on protecting critical infrastructure and cybersecurity threats but the report found that since its creation, CISA began “routinely” colluding with Big Tech and government-funded third parties by reporting social media posts that allegedly spread “disinformation”. The Epoch Times: Police Accused of Racism in Handing Out COVID Fines
Victoria Police officers were found to disproportionately fine people of non-Anglo appearance for COVID-19 breaches during the pandemic. African, Middle Eastern, and First Nations people were up to four times more likely to receive fines, despite only making up a small percentage of the population. More than 28,000 fines included details of the person’s perceived racial appearance, leading to accusations of racist policing and calls for all fines to be waived and an independent complaints body to oversee police. The report follows an apology from Victoria’s top cop for racist practices within the police force and a recognition that the criminal justice system has failed First Nations people over generations.
Front Page Magazine: Leftists Feeling Betrayed After Muslim-Governed Michigan City Bans Pride Flag
The first US city to have an entirely Muslim city council has caused upset amongst leftist residents after passing legislation banning Pride flags from being flown on city property. Many such residents had celebrated the manority representation of Muslims in the Hamtramck, Michigan, government as a meaningful rebuke against Islamophobia, and viewed the social diversity as a partnership that could stand against racism and bigotry. Disappointed residents who now feel betrayed by their conservatively-oriented Muslim proteges are reporting that opposition to Pride flag-bearing has been treated dismissively by social media users professing Islamist views.

Breitbart: Kremlin Threatened Families of Wagner Leaders Prior to Stand Down
Yevgeny Prigozhin's march on Moscow was halted due to direct threats made against the families of Wagner group leaders. British security services have obtained intelligence that Russian intelligence made threats leading to the stand down. The number of Wagner forces that engaged in the rebellion inside Russia is believed to be around 8,000 troops, not the 25,000 claimed by Prigozhin. There is still uncertainty regarding the terms agreed between Prigozhin and Alexander Lukashenko, other than that the mercenary oligarch would go unpunished for his rebellion and resign to exile in Belarus. The fate of Prigozhin's demand to sack the Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff is also unclear.

Breitbart: China: Mutiny Hurts Russian Military 'Stability,' 'Unknown' if Putin Can Fix Wagner Mess
Chinese state media outlets have not given their full support to Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin over the recent mutiny of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of mercenary group Wagner Private Military Group. The group had been involved in a number of actions on behalf of the Putin regime, most recently aiding the Russian military in Ukraine before threatening an armed march on Moscow. Chinese media questioned if Putin was capable of stabilising his country following the threat issued by Prigozhin. The Chinese Communist Party has not fully supported Putin’s invasion of the Ukraine, as China is a member of Ukraine’s Belt and Road Initiative, and President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for Chinese intervention to stop the invasion. The Global Times doesn’t believe that this situation will affect Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine but claims that it should make Putin consider concluding the operation.

The game of pickleball is causing an increase in healthcare costs, especially among seniors, according to UBS analysts. They estimate that Americans may spend between $250-500 million on costs tied to pickleball injuries this year. Seniors make up about one-third of the 22.3 million expected players, and the sport has become “an increasingly important cause of injury” for seniors. The increasing popularity of pickleball has led UBS to predict 67,000 emergency department trips, 366,000 outpatient visits, 8,8000 outpatient surgeries, 4,700 hospitalizations, and 20,000 post-acute episodes that will result in approximately $377,000,000 of medical costs, 80% of which will be in the outpatient setting.

Forbes: Pickleball Is Personally And Financially Welcoming For LGBTQ Players
Pickleball is a more inclusive and equitable sport for LGBTQ athletes, according to several pro players. Openly identifying as queer hasn't impacted their professional success or endorsements, with many companies prioritizing representation and support for the community. Although men players lean towards reinforcing macho masculine behaviours, they do at times support LGBTQ rights movements, while prominent ally and 'rule breaker' Alex Neumann enjoys playing with gender to disrupt common notions of masculinity.
