Fox News: Burma burns $446 million worth of seized drugs to mark annual anti-drug trafficking day
Burma's authorities destroyed illegal drugs worth over $446 million that were seized from around the country to mark an annual international anti-drug trafficking day. UN experts warn of an increase in the production of opium, heroin, and methamphetamine in Burma. Burma has a long history of drug production linked to political and economic insecurity caused by decades of armed conflict.
The destroyed drugs included opium, heroin, methamphetamine, and others. Authorities also destroyed drugs in the central city of Mandalay and in Taunggyi, the capital of eastern Shan state. Experts have warned that violent political unrest in Burma following the military takeover two years ago has caused an increase in drug production. Most of the opium and heroin exported by Burma, along with methamphetamine, goes to other countries in Southeast Asia and China.

Fox News: Chris Christie 'expected boos' for attacking Trump at conservative summit
Chris Christie, a Republican presidential candidate, expected boos when he attacked former President Trump during a speech at the Faith and Freedom Conference in Washington, D.C. Christie argued that character is the most significant element of the United States President, and Trump has let them down because he is unwilling to take responsibility for his mistakes. Christie claimed to be in the third place in New Hampshire, only four points away from Floria Governor Ron DeSantis, who is supposed to be the co-front-runner.

American Thinker: Michigan state legislature House passes censorship bill to make free speech a felony based on the feelings of someone hearing or reading it
Michigan bill HB 4474, now assigned to state Senate committee, would make intimidation, harassment or causing “severe mental anguish” based on perceived characteristics such as sexual orientation or gender identity a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, a move many fear would limit free speech rights. Critics argue the lack of specific definitions of intimidation, harassment and violence in the bill could lead to a liberal interpretation of the law and restrict individuals’ ability to express their opinions, with accusations of “hate speech” stifling free speech on college campuses. Though opponents consider it unconstitutional, experts warn it may take years and millions of dollars to challenge the bill’s constitutionality in the Supreme Court if it passes.
National Review: The Corner: Why We Probably Don’t Have to Worry About Russia’s Loose Nukes
Reports speculate about the possibility of a stolen or missing nuclear weapon in Russia during the current upheaval, but so far, the Russian government has a surprisingly strong record of controlling and protecting their nuclear weapons. In 1998, the then-commander in chief of U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Air Force General, Gen. Eugene E. Habiger, inspected Russian nuclear weapons sites and concluded that in some ways, the Russian sites were arguably more secure than ours. The Russians recognize the long-term consequences of even one nuclear weapon ending up in the hands of someone crazy enough to use it.
Although terrorist groups and maniacs have attempted to steal fissile material from nuclear sites, certain necessary procedures such as the three-person access requirement for nuclear weapons and personnel reliability programs make it almost impossible for someone to obtain nuclear weapons unless they are authorized to do so. Any entity willing to buy a black market nuclear weapon could always sell it to any Russian enemy, which could be a dangerous situation for Russia itself. If a malevolent figure or force was really determined to get their hands on a nuclear weapon, there are cases of nuclear weapons being lost and never recovered.

Gataway Couple: Did the WPA Create National Parks?
The Works Progress Administration was an agency created by President Roosevelt during the Great Depression, providing jobs to millions of unemployed Americans and supporting public works projects, including the construction of roads, bridges, schools, and public buildings, as well as artists, musicians, and writers. It helped improve infrastructures for national parks, funded visitor facilities and buildings, built trails and roads, provided conservation work and historical preservation, and supported the development of promotional materials for the National Parks Service. It ended during World War II in 1943 as the country’s economy recovered and the government shifted its focus to war efforts.

The Milwaukee Bucks need to address their backup point guard position this offseason due to limited resources, particularly if Jevon Carter opts out of his player option. Foreign Policy: Cluster Munitions Are Biden’s Latest Slow-Roll on Ukraine Aid
Ukraine is requesting cluster munitions from the United States to help liberate its territory and overcome fortified Russian positions. The controversial weapon scatters small bomblets over a wide area, making it more effective at killing infantry and destroying armored vehicles. The request has set off opposition from some U.S. NGOs, but Kyiv argues that defeating the Russian occupiers is a much higher priority and civilian casualties can be minimized. Washington has dragged its heels on the request due to concerns about unity with European allies and potential domestic blowback. DPICMs, a type of dual-purpose improved conventional munitions, have also been requested and could be useful against dug-in Russian positions. The United States reportedly has almost 3 million DPICMs in its inventory, but has yet to agree to the request.
