American Thinker: Ron DeSantis offers practical suggestions for controlling our border
Ron DeSantis promises to stop illegal immigration in America, using every bit of government authority available to him and border states. His plan includes mass deportations, a border wall partially funded by taxing remittances, cutting off federal funding of NGOs, ending catch and release, and using force to repel drug cartels. He aims to properly enforce asylum laws and support only legitimate asylum claims. DeSantis believes states like Texas have a right to declare and help repel an invasion of sovereign territory, but he may face opposition from Democrats, the Deep State, and even Republicans who support illegal immigration.

National Review: The Corner: ‘The Focus Will Once Again Be More on Trump than Biden’
Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt predicts that if there is a Biden-Trump rematch, the race will focus once again on Trump rather than Biden, regardless of who the GOP nominates. However, a majority of voters have concerns about Biden's mental and physical health, and the possibility of him being re-elected. The electorate is seeking an option beyond Biden and Trump, but at least half of the Republican party is eager to make the 2024 general election another referendum on Trump.
Daily Wire: Joe Biden Doubles Down On Campaign Claim He Never Spoke With Hunter About Business Deals
President Biden denied lying about never discussing his son’s business deals during a Fox News interview. The allegations of Hunter Biden trading on his family name to secure contracts abroad recently came under the spotlight again when it was revealed that their relationship was closer than previously admitted. Republicans have also claimed that the Justice Department has interfered in the investigation into Hunter, and is suppressing evidence of possible wrongdoing. Whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service, who claim to have uncovered a WhatsApp message in which Hunter had talked to the director of a Chinese energy company, were called to give testimony about the interference.
Flag And Cross: Israel Successfully Lobbies To Avoid UN Blacklist For Harming Children
Israeli officials successfully lobbied the United Nations to remove the Jewish State from its annual report that shames nations whose armed forces harm children. Israel has never been listed, but Palestinians and their supporters had pressured officials to include it after being warned in 2021. The Israeli ambassador to the United Nations and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented evidence to UN Secretary-General António Guterres that rockets from Arab terror organizations that fell short and killed or injured children in Gaza, minors from Palestinian Authority-controlled territories who were killed after committing terrorist acts and examples of the Palestinian Authority's incitement. They also showed civil, life-improving projects Israel attempts to run on behalf of Palestinian Authority residents.
The Right Scoop: Large police union that backed Trump in 2020 switches to Gov. Ron DeSantis
The largest police union in Florida has announced its endorsement of Governor Ron DeSantis for president, after previously supporting Donald Trump. The Florida Police Benevolent Association cited DeSantis as the "most effective governor in the nation" and praised his commitment to public safety in their announcement. Their endorsement is significant, given DeSantis’ current deficit in support, while some cities and communities in America face increased crime rates, the endorsement of the law enforcement agency could prove to be beneficial.
The Epoch Times: Feds Spent Over $3.7 Million in Legal Fees Related to Invoking Emergencies Act, Says Justice Department
The Canadian government spent over $3.7 million on legal fees linked to the Emergencies Act in response to the Freedom Convoy protests in Ottawa. This includes fees related to the Public Order Emergency Commission. The government invoked the Emergencies Act in February 2022, giving additional powers to the police to clear the protests, which offended the opposition and critics. Conservatives criticized it as "wasteful" spending. Ontario appeal court justice Paul Rouleau ruled in February 2022 that the government had reached the legal threshold for the invocation of the act.
The Epoch Times: Kansas AG Seeks to Block Alterations to Transgender People's Birth Certificates
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach is petitioning a federal court to end the mandate that allows transgender individuals to alter their birth certificates, following a new legislation introduced on July 1 that prohibits such alterations. The regulation comes after a 2019 decision by U.S. District Judge Daniel Crabtree that allowed transgender people to make changes to their birth certificates, which Kobach seeks to reverse. He does not aim to repeal past alterations, just prevent them from happening in the future. Critics claim that failure to allow these alterations violates the equal protection and due process rights of transgender persons.
Lambda Legal, the ACLU of Kansas, and lawyers of the four transgender individuals who initiated the 2018 lawsuit against the Kansas State Department are criticizing the new rule by urging Kobach to withdraw the petition. They express that allowing individuals to alter their birth certificates can go a long way, especially in securing re-identification documents. Advocates have hailed the changing rights of birth records as a significant part of acknowledging and respecting their identities. Transgender rights organizations, including the ACLU of Montana, have also fought and overturned similar restrictions.
Breitbart: Mark Levin: 'The Democrat Party Hates America'
Conservative talk show host Mark Levin argues that historically, it has been the Democratic Party that has opposed major social and political changes in America over the past 150 years, indicative of the party's hatred towards America and the foundations upon which the country was built. He highlights the Democratic Party’s past involvement with slavery, segregation, the Ku Klux Klan, and Jim Crow laws to underscore his point. According to Levin, the Democratic Party is now a party of American Marxism that is doing grave damage to the country. He believes that the Democratic Party must not just be defeated but obliterated for America to be saved.
The Federalist Papers: Tucker Carlson's Permanent Replacement Revealed, Fox News Overhauls Primetime Lineup
Fox News has named “The Five” co-host Jesse Watters as the replacement for Tucker Carlson in the all-important 8 p.m. primetime programming. Unlike prior cast revamps, Watters’ appointment appears to be permanent. The channel is also reshuffling its primetime slots with conservative commentator Laura Ingraham moving to 7 p.m. and late-night host Greg Gutfeld moving to 10 p.m. Fox News has experienced a network decline following Carlson’s departure and due to its pro-LGBT stance which has come under fire from conservatives.
Fox News: GOP senator challenges union boss to cage fight after 'anyplace, anytime’ dare
Oklahoma GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin has accepted International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien's recent invitation to a cage fight for charity. Mullin accused O'Brien of being a "loudmouth bully" who threatens his union members and called his bluff by arranging the September 30th match. The two have a history of disagreement, most recently at a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing in March where they clashed over the Teamsters president's salary compared to those of his union members.

The Federalist: Men Exposing Themselves To Kids Proves 'Tolerance' Was A Sham
Nudists, furries, and other fetishists gathered in New York City, Seattle, and Toronto this weekend to celebrate sex under the LGBT banner. Defenses of indecent exposure to impressionable minds and souls prove that the “tolerance” preached in years past was always a smokescreen.
The Epoch Times: John Robson: Celebrate Canada Day With Gratitude and Drop the Anti-Canadian Propaganda
Beneath the veneer of Canada's inclusive identity lies an accelerating pace of censorship and destruction of national pride. While Canadians were never asked if they wanted their national identity abolished, statues of Sir John A. Macdonald and Cartier are being torn down, and dissension from Justin Trudeau's core values is met with accusations of cruelty and isolation. The country must unrevolve from this profound intellectual revolution and embrace truth fearlessly and with gratitude.
Spectator USA: Whatever Harry and Meghan have to sell, the public aren’t buying it
Despite their attempts to break into the media industry, things have not gone well for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the past six months. Their podcast has been canceled, and Netflix is apparently no longer willing to finance their projects. They have been criticized for their lack of talent and inexperience as producers, and their projects have been described as having subpar execution. Despite a spokesperson for their firm expressing optimism about the company's future, it remains unclear what the couple wants and whether they will be able to rebound from their setbacks.

Breitbart: Russian Media: Wagner Warlord Prigozhin Still Facing 'Armed Rebellion' Charges
The head of the Wagner Private Military Company (PMC), Yevgeny Prigozhin, faces a criminal case for attempting an "armed mutiny" against the Russian Defense Ministry. Prigozhin claimed to have 25,000 fighters with him and initially targeted the city of Rostov-on-Don before announcing an alleged "march for justice" into Moscow. The Russian government reportedly agreed to drop charges against Prigozhin in exchange for an end to the uprising and Prigozhin leaving Russia, but the charges remain open, say Russian sources. The crime of armed mutiny carries a minimum sentence of 12 years in prison in Russia and a maximum of 20.
Fox News: Timeline of Wagner mercenary group's standoff that shook Putin's Russia
Russian Wagner mercenary forces led by Yevgeny Prigozhin mutinied and pushed towards Moscow after a video released on Telegram directly contradicted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s justification for his illegal invasion of Ukraine. By Saturday, Wagner forces had taken control of the military headquarters in the city of Rostov-on-Don, however, Prigozhin announced Monday morning that he will end the mutiny to avoid more casualties and that his forces will turn around and return to their camps as planned.

The Epoch Times: North Korea Makes New Threat Targeting the US
North Korea held rallies in Pyongyang to commemorate the anniversary of the Korean War, where citizens chanted anti-U.S. slogans and warned of their nuclear weapons stockpile. North Korea has been testing weapons and ramping up tensions with South Korea and the U.S., sparking concerns of a new missile launch. Rally-goers proclaimed their country's expanding nuclear weapons program and desire for a "war of revenge" against the U.S. North Korea is also planning a military parade to showcase new hardware, likely on the July 27 anniversary of the armistice agreement. The former U.S. President Donald Trump attempted disarmament talks with dictator Kim Jong Un, but tension has escalated under the Biden administration.
The Blaze: Unable to rely on wind and solar, Sweden ditches 100% renewable target and bets big on nuclear power
The Swedish parliament will abandon its goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity production by 2040 and instead rely more heavily on nuclear energy to satisfy electricity demand, which is set to double by 2040. Sweden's right-of-center government will subsidize the construction of new nuclear plants following a referendum in 1980 to phase out atomic energy. The Swedish government aims to bring the tally up to eight nuclear reactors and refurbish existing facilities in a record high of support of 56%, up from 42% in 2022, attributed partly to the invasion of Ukraine and the energy crisis which overwhelmed Europe.
Red State: Biden Finally Speaks on Wagner Rebellion After Weekend in Camp David With Hunter
Joe Biden addressed the Wagner PMC group rebellion in Russia on Monday, days after it had ended. He stated that the US and NATO had no involvement and it was part of a struggle within the Russian system. Biden had spent the weekend at Camp David with his son Hunter, prompting speculation that they were discussing the Biden foreign dealings scandal.
Washington Free Beacon: Biden Says US Not Involved in Russian Uprising
President Biden addressed the recent Russian mercenaries' uprising against the Kremlin, stating that the United States and its allies had no involvement in it. Biden directed his national security team to update him "hour by hour" and to prepare for various scenarios. The U.S. intelligence community briefed Congress before the mutiny began and spoke with key allies to ensure coordination in the response.

Newsbusters: America Is the Least Free We’ve Ever Been in a New Ranking of Economic Freedom
Politicians promise free health care, child care, and more, but government is force, taking away money and freedom. The Heritage Foundation ranks countries' economic freedom, and the US is now 25th due to Congress' overspending. Bureaucrats add numerous regulations, limiting individual freedom. Less free countries have more smothering governments, and India requires entrepreneurs to get up to 70 different approvals to start something new. The freest countries are Taiwan, Ireland, Switzerland, and Singapore, while the Cato Institute's Human Freedom Index lists Switzerland, New Zealand, Estonia, and Denmark as the freest countries. Economic freedom leads to a better life, and politicians' policies likely make things worse.
National Review: The Corner: Is ‘ESG’ Going the Way of ‘Woke’?
BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has announced that he will no longer use the term “ESG” (environmental, social, and governance) investing due to it being misused by both the far-left and far-right. ESG investing, a way of using investment capital to socially engineer boardrooms, has become increasingly resented by the public and is likely to be rebranded in the future.

Daily Wire: John Cleese To Cut Famous Crucifixion Scene Song From ‘Life Of Brian’ Stage Show
John Cleese plans to cut the song "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" from the upcoming stage adaptation of Monty Python's Life of Brian, calling its ending too predictable. This move has upset co-star Eric Idle, who wrote the song and receives all royalties from it, as he believes the song to be beloved by fans. However, Cleese insists that he will not cut the controversial "Loretta scene," where a man declares his desire to be a woman and have babies, despite concerns about its reception in today's culture.

The Epoch Times: I Went to the UK to Connect With People and Place—Then I Got on the Wrong Bus
A Chicago Tribune editor went on vacation in England and Scotland hoping to connect with locals but found it difficult until she accidentally got on the wrong bus in Scotland and met a group of agricultural science students from New Mexico State University and their professor. She struck up conversations with them and learned about their program and experiences. She also connected with a Czech master’s student and other locals during her trip. She realized that connecting with people and places is the best part of traveling.
The Economist: Why short sentences in England and Wales are a disaster
Short prison sentences in England and Wales are a costly and ineffective solution, leading to increased criminality and prison overcrowding. More than half of those sentenced to prison every year get less than 12 months and over 60% of those sentenced to less than six months reoffend within a year of release. Short sentences also make prisons more chaotic, exacerbate existing mental and health problems, and are wholly unable to tackle the root causes of crime. Community sentences and initiatives focused on health and welfare, such as Liaison and Diversion or Community Sentence Treatment Requirement Protocols, have a much higher success rate in reducing reoffending rates and costs less than a year in prison per inmate.
Agricultural shows, such as county fairs, have become increasingly popular in Britain, providing visits with the chance to pet farm animals, take part in competitive events, and indulge in local food and drink. The shows offer a meeting place for rural communities, and as countryside life becomes more removed from modern life, shows offer a tangible reminder of farming’s contribution to British heritage. Exhibitors value shows as a way of promoting their produce. These events could be seen as reflective of a British appetite for a lifestyle synonymous with “green and pleasant land”.

Fox News: Hydration nation: Clients clamor for IV therapy on demand even though it’s not FDA-approved
IV hydration bars and clinics are becoming increasingly popular, with patrons able to receive IV fluids containing saline solutions or a blend of vitamins or electrolytes, even when this treatment is not recommended or prescribed by their doctor. These hydration sessions usually last between 30 to 50 minutes and cost between $100 to $500. The sudden growth has attracted scrutiny, with some healthcare associations expressing concern about the way these clinics operate without appropriate oversight, leading to IV hydration services being unregulated by the FDA.
Flag And Cross: Childless Women Aged 35 At Highest Risk Of Binge Drinking, Study Finds
A new study has revealed that childless 35-year-old women are at the highest risk of binge drinking, and alcohol use disorder (AUD) symptoms. According to the findings, more women are delaying motherhood to focus on their careers, leading to an increase in drinking. The study, conducted by researchers at Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH), concluded that this growing prevalence of heavy drinking is exacerbated by the increasing overall rate of excessive alcohol use amongst middle-aged women. The researchers called for more support for women who parent, citing the need for increased access to AUD treatment.

Breitbart: Rival Cartels in Mexico Make Peace, Turn on Mutual Enemy near Texas Border
Drug cartels Los Zetas and the Gulf Cartel's Escorpiones faction have formed an alliance, potentially escalating a turf war over control of drug and human trafficking routes into Texas. Conflict between Los Zetas' Cartel Del Noreste and Gulf Cartel's Reynosa faction has been growing, with both sides claiming support from other cartels. However, the new partnership could inflict more damage on the Reynosa faction, which has recently been fighting off incursions by Escorpiones. The video message announcing the truce came after activists called for cartels to declare a temporary ceasefire to enable the search for mass graves of missing people.

Forbes: Examining All Angles Of The Golden State Warriors Swapping Jordan Poole For Veteran Chris Paul
The Golden State Warriors made a huge offseason move, acquiring Chris Paul in a trade that sent Jordan Poole and future draft compensation to the Washington Wizards. The move is seen as an attempt to preserve chemistry and maximize Stephen Curry's championship window. The trade increases the team's basketball IQ while offloading future salary they weren't enthusiastic about paying. The Warriors slightly increased their committed salaries for 2023-24, but the focus was on relieving themselves of a long-term contract that's already looking rough. The Warriors have over $176 million committed to just eight players, which doesn't include Draymond Green, who will likely return for $26-27 million annually. The NBA's luxury tax line is set at $162 million for this coming season, and the first tax "apron" will be $169 million, and the second tax apron will be $179.5 million. With Golden State blowing past the second apron, all they will have to fill out the roster with veteran minimum contracts, making it difficult to get quality frontcourt players and shooters for that price. The one area they need to prioritize in free agency is getting a rim-running center or athletic big to pair with Paul in the second unit. The move is a massive risk in terms of availability, as Paul has a shaky history with regular season injuries and seems to encounter a problem every time his team is looking at a deep playoff run. Injuries are unpredictable, and the Warriors will do their best to manage Paul's body and give him scheduled nights off to reduce the wear-and-tear. On the floor, this move could absolutely benefit the Warriors and improve their title odds. Although Paul doesn't give them the same north-to-south burst that Poole could provide, they will be a more efficient team that thrives off an unselfish style of play. Paul will help stabilize their second unit in the minutes Curry is getting a breather. With how detrimental the repeater tax penalties are, it wasn't tenable for the Warriors to pay five players at salaries north of $25 million each. They decided it was time to part ways with Poole and light a match to the "two-timeline" approach, as they originally intended to compete for championships while growing young talent to take over when the Curry-Thompson-Green trio expires. Paul will need to incorporate into his game the willingness to be an off-ball threat and be

The New American: Macron Calls for Global Tax to Fight Climate Change - The New American
French President Emmanuel Macron proposed using a global tax system to finance measures to combat climate change and global poverty. He suggested that the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development could oversee negotiations between nations and multinational corporations to create the new global climate tax. Macron called for international taxation to finance climate initiatives and poverty efforts, and praised France's own commitment to climate taxes. Last year, UN Secretary General António Guterres also called for global taxes to punish the fossil fuel industry. Critics worry that such initiatives will result in some countries paying more than others.
