The Epoch Times: Judge in Trump Documents Case Denies Special Counsel Jack Smith's Request to Seal Witness List
Judge in Trump Documents Case Denies Special Counsel Jack Smith's Request to Seal Witness List
A federal judge has denied a request from special counsel Jack Smith to file a confidential list of 84 witnesses in the case involving former President Donald Trump and his co-defendant, Walt Nauta. Smith’s motion was seeking to keep the witness list sealed from Trump and to prevent him from communicating directly with the witnesses. Trump’s attorneys made “no position” on Smith’s motion. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon denied Smith’s motion, saying prosecutors failed to explain why it was necessary to keep the names under seal or why redacting or partially sealing the documents would be inadequate.

The American Spectator: It’s Too Late for Judge Michael Luttig
It’s Too Late for Judge Michael Luttig
George H.W. Bush–appointed Establishment elite former Judge J. Michael Luttig has stepped forward to lecture Republicans once again, stating that the party is just as responsible for the January 6th Capitol riot as Donald Trump. In an opinion piece in the New York Times, Luttig argues that the Republicans' abiding support for the former president will harm the party, as Trump's indictment and prosecution for the Jan. 6 events undermine the party's commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law. However, Luttig's defense of corruption in The New York Times illustrates just how far Trump opponents are when it comes to defending the Constitution and the law.

The Epoch Times: What Is Queensland Doing With All Its Mining Royalties?
What Is Queensland Doing With All Its Mining Royalties?
The Queensland government has raised coal royalties to unsustainable levels, resulting in a $5.7 billion increase in revenue but a decline in investment and long-term sustainability. Treasurer Cameron Dick is launching a $1.5 million advertising campaign to defend his policy but this short-term approach will only lead to a red bottom line of $2.2 billion next year. The coal industry is vital to Queensland's economy, as it is one of the world's leading exporters, and the state risks becoming an unjust and capricious governing body. Investors and the state are shortchanged, as the government steals profits and punishes them for investing in a risky but necessary industry.

Forbes: Who Benefits From Oscars’ New Theatrical Run Rule? Might Be Streamers.
Who Benefits From Oscars’ New Theatrical Run Rule? Might Be Streamers.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has updated its eligibility guidelines for Best Picture nominees, requiring movies to spend more time in theaters to be eligible for the award. The new rules demand that, starting next year, Oscar-qualifying movies be released for at least two weeks in the top six markets and in 10 of the top 50 markets within 45 days of the movie's premiere, favoring movie theaters. However, as Oscar contenders tend to score high on critics’ lists but low on box office receipts, the move may not have quite the boost for theaters that the Academy seems to hope.

The change in eligibility guidelines will impact smaller or independent studios more than streaming services, as Netflix, Apple, and Amazon have deep pockets and can easily afford such a campaign. Meanwhile, Disney+ used a streaming-first release model for several high-profile films in 2020 and has continued to roll hits out quickly as it fights for both theater revenues and subscription gains. While the move may not have the intended impact on movie theaters, streamers could find a secondary revenue source through limited releases, benefiting them more than any theater showing the film.

The American Spectator: The Pillowman Revival Defends Imagination in an Era of Creativity Police
The Pillowman Revival Defends Imagination in an Era of Creativity Police
The Pillowman, a black comedy play by Martin McDonagh, finally lands in London's West End after 20 years. It centers around a writer being questioned by abusive police about child murders that mimic her violent-themed short stories. The play questions author's responsibility for their written contents in a totalitarian state.

The Pillowman features a supposedly subversive casting of a female lead and a major tech problem on its opening night. The play's dialogue and themes are funny and thought-provoking, daring the audience to laugh at awful things and question who gets to tell a story in today's society where identity politics is increasingly influential. Freedom of artistic expression, even for dark and potentially offensive themes, are questioned in this dystopian play.

Heart-Stopping Truth: Statins & Hypertension Drugs Are Destroying Your Health
Common cardiovascular drugs like statins, ACE inhibitors, and beta blockers come with horrifying consequences. Statins can impair memory and turn muscles to mush, while ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers can cause kidney damage and heart rhythm abnormalities. These drugs can also drain the body of essential vitamins and minerals, leading to fatigue, muscle weakness, and increased vulnerability to illness. The Wellness Company's Healthy Heart Formula, designed by cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, offers a naturalistic solution to address cardiovascular health, providing nutrients like D-Ribose, CoQ10, and L-Carnitine to support healthy cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
