Forbes: EU Worries Russia Will Try Thwarting Lucrative Gas Deal With Azerbaijan
EU Worries Russia Will Try Thwarting Lucrative Gas Deal With Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan and Armenia are at loggerheads over the Karabakh region, patrolled by Russian peacekeepers and populated by ethnic Armenians who don't want to become Azerbaijani citizens. Tensions are rising as Azerbaijan confirms a gas deal with the EU. Although a new war is unlikely to stop gas flows, the worst-case scenario is that if Europe picks sides, sanctions could undermine EU energy policy. It is imperative to ensure calm in the Caucasus to secure Europe's energy security.

Russian-backed separatists in Armenia are blamed for wanting to start another war in Azerbaijan. Several EU member states are already importing natural gas from Azerbaijan, with deliveries headed to countries including Italy, Germany and Spain. If Europe picks sides, it's possible that sanctions could undermine EU energy policy, yet calm is essential to secure Europe's energy security. A lasting peace is needed between Armenia and Azerbaijan to secure Armenia's economic development and millions of Armenians have left their homeland over the years.

3 teens shot within hours when illegal Airbnb, rental parties turn violent: police
Two shootings took place at separate Airbnb parties in Philadelphia, leaving three teenagers injured, including a 13-year-old girl. Police believe dozens of young people attended the parties booked through the service on the same night. One of the shootings was tied directly to the reservation, and Airbnb is investigating the matter. No arrests have been made, and the shooters are still on the loose. The incidents highlight the ongoing trend of illegal use of vacation-rental platforms for parties and prompted Airbnb to ban parties and enact new measures to root out illegal use of its listings.

Those Secret Cyborgs Using Generative AI At Your Workplace Need Some Well-Devised AI Governance, Says AI Ethics And AI Law
Stop worrying about secret cyborgs in your workplace using generative AI. The recent headlines about this are wrong. However, workers may be secretly using generative AI programs, such as ChatGPT by OpenAI, to assist in their work activities. Companies need sensible and practicable generative AI governance. Most firms today lack an AI governance structure. Additionally, within an overarching framework of AI governance, there needs to be a subsection devoted to generative AI. Companies need reasonable policies and practical practices for generative AI, with proper controls balancing risks and innovation. Employees and managers may go underground to use the benefit of generative AI when the firm bans it.
