The Federalist Papers: State AGs Push Target to Charge Anti-Grooming Protestors, Quietly Ignore Bomb Threats from LGBT Groups
A coalition of 15 Democrat attorneys general have written to Target CEO Brian Cornell asking him to restore support to the LGBT community and to take legal action against those making “anti-LGBTQIA+ threats,” citing the potential for prosecution under several different laws in order to protect those who supply and purchase LGBT products. The protests against Target began last month after the company was accused of supporting the LGBT community, with consumers who opposed the retailer’s supposed decision to support LGBT boycotts causing the company significant financial losses and becoming the victims of alleged bomb and gunfire threats, which the attorneys wholly blamed on “anti-LGBTQIA+ individuals” with no mention of the allegations of LGBT individuals making similar threats.
