PJ Media: 'Out of Sight, Out of Mind': The Border Crisis Is Still With Us Despite the Media Blackout
'Out of Sight, Out of Mind': The Border Crisis Is Still With Us Despite the Media Blackout
Illegal border crossings have decreased by over 70% since the lifting of the public health order, Title 42. However, the Biden administration expanded legal pathways to enter the country, making the definition of "unlawful border crossings" more ambiguous. Border encounters in May were lower than the same month last year, but still counted over 200,000 illegal alien "encounters," with the majority being single adult males. The issue of demographics and the sheer number of illegal crossings remains a concern.

National Review: Chris Christie, Undeterred by Boos, Says His Anti-Trump Message Is Resonating
Chris Christie, Undeterred by Boos, Says His Anti-Trump Message Is Resonating
Chris Christie stands by his anti-Trump message, stating that character is the most important element for a US President. He explains that, “You can’t know every issue that’s going to come across the president’s desk. What you need to know is, what is the character of that person?” The former governor believes his message is cutting through the noise and elevating him in polls despite being booed at the Faith and Freedom conference. Recent polls in New Hampshire and nationally indicate that Christie’s message is resonating and gained him support. Christie mockingly replies to former President Trump's claims that his indictment was done for Americans.

Breitbart: Conservatives Set for Big Majority as Greeks Head Back to Polls
Conservatives Set for Big Majority as Greeks Head Back to Polls
Greeks went to the polls for the second time in less than two months, with conservative leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis the strong favorite to win the majority of the 300-member parliament. The election was focused on economic growth and security, with Mitsotakis hoping to form a strong majority and gain a second term as prime minister. The tragedy of the migrant shipwreck, which left hundreds dead or missing off the coast of western Greece, is unlikely to affect the overall outcome. The shipwreck drew criticism over how Greek authorities handled the rescue, as well as over the country’s restrictive migration policy.

Trailing in opinion polls, Mitsotakis' main opponent is Alexis Tsipras, who leads the left-wing Syriza party and served as prime minister from 2015 to 2019. The economy seems to be at the forefront of most voters’ concerns, as Greece gradually recovers from its brutal financial crisis. Mitsotakis comes from one of Greece’s most prominent political families and vows to rebrand Greece as a pro-business and fiscally responsible eurozone member. As many as nine parties have a realistic chance of entering parliament, ranging from ultra-religious groups to two left-wing splinter parties founded by top former members of the Syriza government.

Forbes: The Next Recession Is Near But Will Be Mild By Historical Standards
The Next Recession Is Near But Will Be Mild By Historical Standards
The economy is currently divided into three camps on the question of recession: one believes strong jobs growth will continue, a second insists a recession is imminent, and a third predicts a recession in 2024. However, recession seems near-inevitable due to high interest rates' impact and the ill effects of inflation on economic activity. While a downturn is likely, it should be mild by historic standards. Household finances remain strong with no significant debt overhang.

However, Güler's potential and playing style continue to draw comparison to Lionel Messi. Fenerbahce may be open to a sale to alleviate debt, but the player's father and agent are reportedly seeking a higher offer. Güler's best course of action may be seeking first-team experience elsewhere to avoid stunted development.
