Front Page Magazine: House Demolitions by Israel and by Egypt
House Demolitions by Israel and by Egypt
Israel demolishes Palestinian homes for safety and dissuasion reasons, but Western media only reports on it as cruelty. Studies show demolitions decrease terror attacks. However, when Egypt demolishes homes for a new port, leaving homeowners homeless and under-compensated, there is no coverage. The media's selective interest in Israeli demolitions raises questions about their motives and their lack of coverage of Egypt's demolitions.

Spectator USA: Markwayne Mullin: the Senate's stoic brawler
Markwayne Mullin: the Senate's stoic brawler
Markwayne Mullin, an anomaly in politics, is a senator and member of the Cherokee Nation. He grew up in the poorest part of Oklahoma and still lives there with his wife and children. He hates Washington and thinks both parties are corrupt, preferring off-the-wall people to solve problems. He has a muscular build, eats like it's fuel, and has a cowboy appeal. Mullin is a Trump supporter and thinks DeSantis is lacking in charisma. He wants more moderates and caring voices in the party. At the Stilwell Strawberry Festival, he shows concern for struggling families, operates a restaurant to give people jobs, and is handy around the rodeo.

The Epoch Times: School Trustee Candidates Opposed to Gender Ideology Received Highest Rates of Abusive Tweets in 2022 Ottawa Election: Report
School Trustee Candidates Opposed to Gender Ideology Received Highest Rates of Abusive Tweets in 2022 Ottawa Election: Report
School board trustee candidates received high proportions of abusive tweets among all candidates in the last Ottawa municipal election, as per a report by the Samara Centre for Democracy. The project, titled “Online Abuse in Local Elections: the SAMbot Municipal Report,” used a bot to track online sentiment in eight municipal elections across Canada to identify the prevalence of abusive tweets. School trustee candidate Nili Kaplan-Myrth, a family doctor, received the highest number of abusive tweets of any candidate, with 29% of the tweets sent to her categorized as abusive. The report said identity attacks were common in Ottawa trustee Twitter discussion, with tweets categorised as identity attacks targeting gender inclusivity policy in schools.

The Epoch Times: The Power of Symbols
The Power of Symbols
The Australian government is planning to ban Nazi symbols, including the swastika and the double lightning bolt SS. However, banning the swastika may cause issues for historians and sociologists as it has a long history in many diverse cultures as a symbol of positive meaning. The SS symbol is more explicit in its origins and history. While most people agree with the restriction of symbols and signs that promote hatred, banning the "Heil Hitler" salute may be a step too far. The ban is a start, but there are those who argue that the Marxist-Leninist emblem of the hammer and sickle should also be banned as it represents a heinous symbol of merciful dictatorship, which the West was plagued by for decades.

The American Spectator: China Needs to Pay Reparations for Unleashing COVID on the World
China Needs to Pay Reparations for Unleashing COVID on the World
The Times of London published an investigative report detailing the Wuhan Institute of Virology's "gain of function" experiments, which were directed by the Chinese People's Liberation Army for potential military applications. The US State Department believes Beijing covered up the lab leak, and the pandemic could have been contained if not for this. The US needs to hold China accountable for this violation, and reparations should be made for the damage incurred by the world. Conversations on demanding accountability and reparations need to take place relentlessly to avoid another global catastrophe.

The Epoch Times: Pentagon's 'Woke' Agenda Dividing, Weakening the Military: Former Space Force Officer
Pentagon's 'Woke' Agenda Dividing, Weakening the Military: Former Space Force Officer
The US military is becoming increasingly politicized and sexualized due in large part to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, according to a former lieutenant colonel. Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt has suggested that state-level anti-LGBTQ+ laws are impacting hiring decisions. The policies in question have been criticized for being divisive and part of a so-called "woke" agenda by many conservatives.

Matthew Lohmeier, a former Space Force officer who was removed from his post for expressing opposition to critical race theory, believes that military personnel are being forced into a politically charged and hyper-sexualized work environment. He argues that such activism goes against the core values of the military and calls for traditional American values to be upheld. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) has called for an end to DEI programs at the Pentagon, and Lohmeier feels that service members need to learn that voicing their concerns could make a difference.

The Epoch Times: How Much Did Titan Search Cost? US Coast Guard's Bill Alone Will Be in the Millions, Experts Say
How Much Did Titan Search Cost? US Coast Guard's Bill Alone Will Be in the Millions, Experts Say
The search for the missing Titan submersible was an international effort that cost millions of dollars and involved aircraft, surface ships, and deep-sea robots. The submersible was reported missing on June 18, and the search began in the deep waters of the North Atlantic. Sadly, after a catastrophic implosion, all five aboard the vessel perished. The scaled-back search continued to scan the sea floor for evidence. The search area spanned thousands of miles, and agencies such as the US Coast Guard, the Canadian Coast Guard, and the US Navy, among others, were involved in the effort.

The Epoch Times: What Happens During a Catastrophic Implosion? Titan Submersible Occupants Likely Died Instantly
What Happens During a Catastrophic Implosion? Titan Submersible Occupants Likely Died Instantly
The Titan submersible, which went missing on June 18, is believed to have suffered a catastrophic implosion that killed all its passengers almost instantly. The wreck's probable location was detected the same day, but authorities only announced the crew's deaths on June 22. The vessel most likely imploded due to the intense water pressure at a depth of 12,500 feet, a hypothesis confirmed by a US Navy acoustics system. Little information is available on the implosion, but maritime researchers have warned that the ball-shaped cabins made of titanium used in most submersibles are safer than the carbon-fibre cylinder-shaped cabin of the Titan.

The Epoch Times: Twitter Faces Millions in Fines After New 'Disinformation' Laws Released in Australia
Twitter Faces Millions in Fines After New 'Disinformation' Laws Released in Australia
Twitter and other social media giants may be facing billions in fines under new Australian laws targeting misinformation and disinformation. The legislation grants the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) greater powers to regulate harmful content online and introduces a two-tiered system. The first tier will see ACMA request social media companies develop a code of practice, with breaches attracting significant penalties. The second tier will see ACMA impose even stronger regulations, with higher penalties, on companies that do not comply with the code. The government has pledged that ACMA will not have the power to determine what is true or false on individual posts.

Twitter, under criticism for allowing hate speech on its platform, has been threatened with daily fines of up to $700,000 unless it explains what it is doing to combat such speech. The Australian eSafety commissioner says it has received more complaints about online hate on Twitter in the past 12 months than any other platform and blames cuts to Twitter’s staff, included its trust and safety teams, and the ending of its public policy presence in Australia. Twitter has yet to turn a profit consistently, and CEO Elon Musk maintains the company is inefficient and overstaffed. Misinformation and disinformation could see social media companies facing billion-dollar fines under Australian media regulations.

The Epoch Times: Regulators Say No Sign of Threat From Hazardous Railroad Cargo That Plunged Into Yellowstone River
Regulators Say No Sign of Threat From Hazardous Railroad Cargo That Plunged Into Yellowstone River
Train cars carrying hazardous materials fell into the Yellowstone River near Columbus, Montana, following a bridge collapse, but preliminary testing of water and air quality did not indicate any threat to the public. The seven mangled cars carrying hot asphalt and molten sulfur remained in the river, though preliminary results of water quality sampling did not show petroleum hydrocarbons, which would have come from the asphalt, or sulfur. There is no known risk to public drinking water. Water quality testing will continue until cleanup is complete. The Federal Railroad Administration is leading the investigation into the cause of the derailment.

New York City turns up the heat on wood and coal-fired pizzerias, demands restaurants slice emissions by 75%
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection is drafting new rules to force restaurants with wood and coal-fired ovens to purchase and install emission-control devices to reduce particulate emissions by 75%. If the reduction can't be achieved, the restaurants must identify any possible measures offering a minimum of 25% reduction. Despite the fact that under 100 restaurants will be affected, these rules will likely impact some of the oldest and most famous pizza restaurants in New York, including Totonno's, Lombardi's, and Grimaldi's. The cost of emissions control will be "a big expense!" according to Paul Giannoni, the owner of Paulie Gee’s.
