The Epoch Times: New Republican Working Group Interim Report Takes Aim at ESG
New Republican Working Group Interim Report Takes Aim at ESG
The Republican Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Working Group has released an interim report advocating for reform of the proxy voting system, improve ESG ratings, and enhance oversight of large asset managers to ensure they support retail investors' investment objectives. The GOP has been highly critical of the Biden administration, accusing them of circumventing the lack of congressional support for ESG policy issues by exploiting financial regulatory agencies. The party is also looking to target regulators and reduce the burden of EU regulations, with proposed probes into federal regulatory initiatives and statutory limits from regulatory agencies.

Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) recently introduced legislation focusing on financial advisors and retirement funds regarding ESG issues and ensuring they concentrate on maximizing profits. This measure would limit investments in ESG and requires investors to offer written consent if they wish to have their money invested in ESGs. The GOP has been attacking ESG considerations for a while, with some states banning their use by state pension funds and several Republican attorneys general raising fresh concerns about the consideration of ESG factors. ESG has also emerged as an issue in the 2024 Republican primary race, with some candidates making opposition to "woke investing" integral to their platform, and others criticizing ESG as "radical-left garbage."

Fox News: F-16 is the greatest fighter jet of all time and we have the receipts
F-16 is the greatest fighter jet of all time and we have the receipts
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is the most successful fighter jet of all time with a combat power, versatility, and long production run that no other jet fighter can match. With over 4,560 F-16s produced since the 1970s, the F-16 is truly a global aircraft flown by 25 nations and utilized in a variety of missions from NATO air policing to taking on mass packages of Chinese combat aircraft. The F-16's combat record, global following, and future tasks from changing the balance of power for Ukraine and Taiwan establish it as the Greatest Of All Time.

Foreign customers will buy $64 billion worth of F-16s in years to come. Furthermore, the F-16 is going to defend Taiwan and its 23 million people should a hot war with China occur. Though the F-35 Lightning is a big success for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and many allies, it is not likely to surpass the lifespan or production run of the F-16, especially as the Air Force brings in more drones to augment fighter missions.

Article argues world must apply 'queer theory' to nuclear weapons policy
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists proposed in a mid-June piece that applying LGBTQ+ ideology could strengthen nuclear security. Queer theory prioritizes people over abstract ideas of national security, challenges the mainstream understanding of nuclear weapons and encourages people to imagine a world where nuclear weapons are unnecessary. The publication suggested that applying queer theory to nuclear weapons could spread sensitivity to the struggles of marginalized groups in cis-heteronormative society.

Wisconsin Lawmakers Unveil Plan To Cut Income Tax Rates, Democratic Governor Dumps On It
Wisconsin Republicans have proposed a tax relief plan that would reduce the state's four income tax brackets. The package would mean $3.5bn in tax cuts for residents over the next two years, according to the Institute for Reforming Government. The tax cuts would be funded by increased state revenue, including an expected increased tax income from online orders during the pandemic, with the Republican party believing the rate reductions will make Wisconsin more economically competitive. The plan is intended to encourage small businesses, who file business taxes at the individual level, by giving tax breaks to the highest income earners in the state.

Soy Isoflavones–Carcinogenic or Anti-Cancer? Health Benefits of Soy Milk Revealed
Soy milk has been consumed for 2,000 years in China with many health benefits, such as promoting bone health and relieving menopausal symptoms. Nutritional facts show soy milk is rich in plant protein, providing liver metabolism and detoxification. Moreover, sprouted soy milk is recommended to improve mood and vitality and has a germination characteristic in traditional Chinese medicine. Despite concerns about isoflavones in soy, studies show that increasing isoflavone intake by drinking soy milk can reduce reproductive system cancer incidence. Soy milk does not contain lactose and has lower fat content than cow’s milk, making it suitable for those with high cholesterol. Soy milk is suitable for those with constipation, osteoporosis, or cardiovascular disease, but those with gout or high uric acid levels should reduce their soy milk intake.

Hunter Biden investigation 'integrity' undermined if just half of IRS whistleblowers' claims are true: Turley
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley warned that if "half" of the IRS whistleblowers’ claims are true, then Hunter Biden’s tax evasion investigation’s "integrity and credibility would be greatly undermined." If even partially accurate, the allegations would hurt the trust in the investigation into Hunter Biden's taxes. Justice Department investigators were "trying to limit" questioning related to President Biden as part of the investigation into Hunter Biden, despite objections from FBI and IRS officials, a whistleblower alleged. The House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday released testimony from two IRS whistleblowers who said officials at the Justice Department, FBI and IRS interfered with the investigation of the tax evasion case against Hunter Biden.
