Over a year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, 15 states have enacted strict abortion bans. North Carolina is the latest to join the list, with a 12-week ban coming into effect in July. Vice President Kamala Harris gave a speech there drawing attention to Republican efforts to ban abortion, but stopping them may prove difficult. Abortion is banned in more than twice as many states as it is protected for the duration of pregnancy, and results show that abortions declined by 6% in the first six months after the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision in June 2022.

Hunter Biden was allegedly present at his father’s home on the same date an IRS whistleblower claims the then-vice president's son intimidated a Chinese businessman for a large sum of money. House Ways & Means Committee released testimony from the whistleblower who provided a text message from Hunter Biden stating he was with his father demanding payment from a Chinese asset manager named Henry Zhao. Hunter allegedly received a $100,000 payment from their dealings, however, he did not pay taxes on this income.

Joe Biden has changed the Democratic primary schedule, giving South Carolina the privilege of holding the first contest in early 2024 instead of Iowa and New Hampshire. The sitting president is nostalgic for the state that revived his campaign but Democrats in Iowa and New Hampshire are actively exploring the option to defy Biden and move ahead with their contests, even if it means losing their national convention delegates. A messy primary usually leads to the defeat of a sitting president, and current nominal opponents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson do not represent a genuine threat to Biden in a vacuum. However, if things continue on their current path, RFK Jr. could finish first in both Iowa and New Hampshire, creating an embarrassment for Biden's campaign.

President Biden's White House Counsel changed their wording on his involvement in the influence peddling racket for which his son Hunter served as bagman. The denial of being "in business" with Hunter means the defensive line is moving closer to Biden himself.
