Liberty Nation: The Uprising Podcast: American Fever Dream
Biden's son cleared of tax and gun charges, a mixed blessing. Will Trump's Fox interview impact his court case?
American Thinker: Freud vs. wokism
Sigmund Freud, a conservative, would oppose woke ideology which is like Marxism applied to imaginary sexual "identity groups". Freud believed in self-control and saw raw sexuality as destructive. He also understood mob violence and the dangerous impact of sexual predation on children. Today's left confuses young children about things they do not understand and turns campuses into mob scenes.
Liberty Nation: Disinformation and the UN’s Global War on Free Speech
The United Nations has a new sub-project called “Integrity of Information on Digital Platforms” that aims to control the internet and global media to suppress hate speech and disinformation. This project has the support of left-wing media, US federal government agencies, and powerful governments, the same entities that routinely bombard the world with disinformation. The evidence shows that they have spread false information on significant subjects such as the Trump–Russia conspiracy, the origins of COVID-19, the effectiveness of masks and social distancing, and the vaccine's ability to protect people from the virus. The UN’s plan to monitor and control the internet and media presents a concerning potential for censorship and suppression of freedom of speech.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres believes that misinformation and conspiracy theories pose an existential danger to democracy and human rights. The UN intends to deal with disinformation's threats to democracy by monitoring and mitigating them further due to rapid technological advances. However, governments' power to censor and control information that doesn't suit their interests poses a significant threat to freedom of speech and democracy. As censorship on Hunter Biden's laptop showed, the UN's disinformation targets may conveniently align with political objectives. When the government is given the power to suppress or censor information that doesn't suit their interests, it almost always does so, and the journalistic process suffers a loss of credibility, ultimately damaging the democratic debate.
National Review: In Defense of John Durham
John Durham's dedication to the rule of law and institutionalism has led him to investigate the origins of Russiagate, resulting in a comprehensive report that found much to condemn but nothing to prosecute. The tensions between his investigation and Trump and his allies stem from their desire for payback and nailing the former president's tormentors, which was never Durham's conception of his task. While some on the right see the FBI as beyond repair, Durham and Attorney General Bill Barr seek to fix these institutions, even if that means significant surgery, not eradicating them.
Washington Free Beacon: Drew’s Receipts: Media Failures of the Week
Media outlets defend Hunter Biden and criticize Republicans for investigating him, focusing on the emotional impact of the situation on President Joe Biden and his family. Meanwhile, the media emphasizes new narratives surrounding Father's Day, promoting messages of vulnerability, acceptance of gender identity, and emotional openness between fathers and children. The Washington Post publishes a hit-piece on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's relationship with his wife, painting it as suspiciously close, while also revealing the Post's CEO's significant contributions to Democrats.

National Review: Activists Now Have the Power to Spike Scientific Research They Don’t Like
Michael Bailey's paper on rapid-onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) was retracted by the prestigious journal Archives of Sexual Behavior for administrative reasons, despite its data holding up; this comes after extensive protest from transgender activists and a growing pattern of similar incidents against papers dealing with sensitive issues. Bailey had previously noted that the survey data he used had been originally intended for "information gathering," not scientific publication, though the identified administrative issues seem to be minor in themselves. This appears to be part of a wider, and troubling, trend in social science wherein internal review boards, peer-review groups, and outside activists work to limit research and discredit material that does not align with their views or preferred interpretation of data.
Fox News: US pedestrian deaths in 2022 highest number in more than 40 years: report
Over 7,500 pedestrians were killed in traffic crashes in 2021 in the US, marking the highest number of pedestrian deaths in 40 years. The report is based on preliminary information from 49 states and Washington, D.C. GHSA predicts the number is most likely even higher, with data missing from Oklahoma.

American Thinker: Mr. Secretary, what are you telling Cuba?
US has concerns over China planning new military training facility in Cuba, warns Secretary of State Antony Blinken post his trip to Beijing. Blinken said he made clear to his Chinese counterparts "that we would have deep concerns about PRC intelligence or military activities in Cuba". The Wall Street Journal reported that China and Cuba are allegedly negotiating a joint military training facility on the island that could lead to the stationing of Chinese troops just 100 miles off Florida's coast.
The US needs to take action against Cuba instead of expecting China to turn around, believes a blogger. The US could start by shutting remittances that constitute a substantial part of Cuba's gross national income and close the US Embassy to hit Cuba hard. With the presence of Chinese troops on the island proving Cuba did not change even after the opening of the US embassy in 2015, US must take necessary steps against Cuba.

American Thinker: The Titanic tragedy, recapitulated
The submersible Titan, named ominously after the Titanic, went down to the wreck and disappeared within two hours. Branding the incident a "suicide mission", an employee who had warned David Lochridge was sacked for cautioning that the submersible could not withstand the Titanic's depth. Now, investigations, recriminations and lawsuits will ensue. Despite the risks taken, the loss of life is a sorrowful tragedy.

National Review: A Year after Dobbs, Here’s What Pro-Lifers Must Do Next
The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade did not come without backlash from the radical left, with some protestors creating an open campaign of violence against pregnancy-resource centers. The 2022 midterms resulted in victories for Republican governors who signed pro-life laws, but ballot measures related to abortion failed. Pro-life politicians and the party need to take proactive measures to educate the public on the issue and to successfully counter the abortion advocates' narrative. While ultimately the goal is total abolition, an incremental approach to establish the most politically feasible protections is necessary.
