National Review: The Corner: What’s Missing with Chris Christie
Chris Christie is a flawed politician who combines history of unreliability, cynicism, grotesquery with the ability to pound Trump rhetorically. Christie appeared at the Faith & Freedom Coalition's 'Road to Majority' conference where he talked about the importance of admitting mistakes. However, his center was curiously missing leaving the audience to wonder why he endorsed Trump in 2016. Christie seems to believe that his act of running for the presidency is some kind of moral expiation, a way of saying sorry. The only way to handle Chris Christie's candidacy is to ignore him and wait for it to capsize and sink.
Newsbusters: GOP Reps. Issue BLISTERING Letter in 2020 Election Interference Probe
The House Committee on Homeland Security is investigating allegations of censorship efforts from the federal government during the 2020 election. House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green and Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability Chairman Dan Bishop sent a letter to the Center for Internet Security (CIS) about its efforts to facilitate censorship. The CIS’s “misinformation reporting system” involved Big Tech and the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The congressmen requested information on CISA’s “partnership with non-governmental organizations and social media companies that potentially suppressed Americans’ speech.” The government’s role in censorship begs the question of whether the federal government was used as a strong arm. Censorship has major impacts and can even alter election results.

Washington Free Beacon: WATCH: Joe Biden's Senior Moment of the Week (Vol. 48)
President Biden had an awkward week, speaking on the same stage as recovering stroke victim John Fetterman. He praised the success of his "Build Back Biden" agenda, oogled a union worker's muscles, and lost his bearings after staring at a large television screen.
National Review: The Corner: The Other Big Biden Risk
Democrats risk Joe Biden's reelection with potential disasters such as an unexpected event or a damning revelation of the "Biden crime family." The press, though not as critical as it would be towards a Republican president, is still investigating the matter.
Red State: What’s the Big Deal About RFK Jr?
Conservatives and libertarians are supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democrat running against President Joe Biden, for his views on COVID-19, vaccines, and foreign policy. However, Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism and claims about the pandemic have drawn criticism from experts, who view his stance as a significant threat to public health. In the past, Kennedy has called for big oil companies to be subject to capital punishment and has blamed lawful gun owners for mass shootings. He has also shown himself to be a big government Democrat, emphasizing the need to maintain the welfare state and supposedly ensure a living wage for all Americans.
Fox News: Biden blasted for 'F-16' quip about gun rights advocates: 'Blatantly misrepresenting the Constitution'
President Biden made a controversial comment at a campaign event in California, suggesting Second Amendment supporters would "need an F-16" to take on the government. Some Capitol Hill lawmakers blasted his comment, while others questioned his cognitive skills. Biden has been advocating for new gun laws, including a federal ban on "assault weapons and high-capacity magazines."
Fox News: Hunter Biden-linked account received $5 million days after threatening messages: 'Sitting here with my father'

The FBI's investigation into Hunter began in 2018, and an IRS whistleblower now claims that politics influenced the case. Hunter's attorney called the claims biased, selective, and illegal.
Washington Free Beacon: Foreign Intel Agencies Say Iran On Cusp of Testing First Nuke
Iran is on the verge of testing its first nuclear warhead, according to intelligence estimates from the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden. The country's intelligence agencies have found that Iran is consistently seeking to obtain technology for its illegal nuclear program and ballistic missile apparatus and is ignoring previous agreements made as part of the 2015 nuclear accord. The findings come as the Biden administration engages in secret negotiations with Iran, promising billions of dollars in sanctions relief in exchange for minor restrictions on its nuclear program. The administration's plans could result in senior officials being subpoenaed, according to Republicans in Congress. ( )
Fox News: Whistleblower: 'No way of knowing' if evidence of 'other criminal activity' existed about Bidens on laptop
An IRS whistleblower claims that there is 'no way of knowing' if there's evidence of criminal activity involving Joe Biden or Hunter Biden because of guidance from prosecutors to 'limit' or block questioning on the matter. The House Ways and Means Committee released testimony from two IRS whistleblowers who claim that officials at the Justice Department, FBI and IRS interfered in Hunter Biden's tax evasion case, influenced by politics. The investigation began as an 'offshoot' of an IRS investigation into an amateur pornography shop, and the FBI became aware of the laptop by October 2019. The whistleblowers say that decisions in the case always benefited the subject of the investigation.
The Epoch Times: Huntington Beach Sued Over Nondisclosure of Airshow Settlement
Huntington Beach City is being sued for allegedly withholding public records related to a settlement agreement between the city and Huntington Pacific Airshow, which was cancelled due to 2021 oil spill. Residents of the beach had sought compensation for damages due to the cancellation, and the city agreed to pay $5mn to the airshow operator—Code Four—and refund fees from last year’s show, in an effort of good faith. The lawsuit claims the city is violating California public records laws, while the city attorney maintains that he is only withholding certain information to protect pending litigation against the pipeline operator.

The Queer Trans Project hailed the news as "a step towards fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment," while detransitioner Laura Becker warned that free speech is at stake. A source familiar with AMC's dealings told Fox News that the theater chain decided to withdraw based on poor ticket sales, with just 139 sold across the nation.

The union also has a range of other demands, going beyond LGBT issues to include “consistent hours” to improve healthcare access, gender-neutral bathrooms and protection from discrimination and harassment, among others. Starbucks has a history of progressive employment policies, but is not supportive of unionising.
Newsbusters: CNN Host Disparages Titanic Explorers for Their Wealth Acquisition
CNN's Christine Romans criticized the deceased members of the OceanGate Titanic submersible tour on Friday, referring to them as risk junkies and suggesting that their wealth and adventurousness was overindulgent. She implied that they earned their money by flouting rules and breaking the law, and focused more on their net worth than their tragic deaths. However, Alfred Hagen defended his deceased friends and praised their visionary spirit, reminding the world that despite Romans' assertions, wealth does not dehumanize, and risk-taking often makes significant advancements for humanity.

Forbes: China’s Days As A Sole Source For U.S. Companies “Are Over” — Stephen Roach
Talks between the US and China yielded no major breakthroughs, emphasizing the need for businesses to diversify their supply chains and investments. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Chinese President Xi Jinping for two days in Beijing, with State Department statements describing the discussions on key priorities as candid, substantive, and constructive. Stephen Roach, former Morgan Stanley Asia chairman, pointed out that the post-meeting statements did not suggest any major shift had occurred. Roach advised companies to be prepared to adjust to a more difficult landscape, and noted that the days of relying solely on China for offshore sourcing were over.
The Epoch Times: EXPLAINER: Now That Bill C-18 Has Passed, Why Is Meta Blocking Canadian News?
Meta has announced it will be blocking content from news outlets for Canadian users in order to comply with the Online News Act. The new legislation requires online platforms and digital news providers to pay Canadian media outlets for any news or information linked to their platforms. Both Meta and Google had already begun test-blocking some news for Canadian users prior to Bill C-18 passing into law. The Online News Act is set to come into force this December.
Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez has criticised Meta’s decision, saying the move shows the platforms are more willing to remove news than pay local outlets for it. He said Canada needs the Online News Act in order to save local newsrooms forced to close in recent years due to heavy online competition. However, opposition MPs have criticised the legislation, stating that it will benefit large Canadian media outlets more than local journalism.

Forbes: ‘Purple Rain,’ ‘Batman’ Among Film-Music Rights Possibly On Block As Debt-Laden WBD Seeks More Cash
Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly looking to sell up to half the music-publishing assets for its films and TV series for around $500m, in order to help reduce its huge debt load of around $48bn. While it can be a lucrative approach for aging performers seeking one more big payday from their creative work, it signals that WBD may be struggling with crippling debt, and raises concerns about the future of its media assets. The sale comes as WBD deals with a writers strike, which has halted production on shows such as Real Time with Bill Maher and This Week with John Oliver.
WBD is also considering licensing its older HBO and other shows to external outlets, to generate income on shows that are often overlooked in the algorithms on home streaming services. This would represent a significant shift in the thinking of WBD and other Hollywood media companies, which traditionally kept their older high-profile shows in-house to burnish the appeal of their own streaming services. However, licensing older shows to third-party FAST linear networks or other streaming outlets could provide an alternative way of raising funds. Such a move may be necessary as WBD seeks to reduce its massive debt load.
