Fox News: Atlanta reparations task force member says country must move forward racially: 'Have to let go of the past'
Atlanta reparations task force member says country must move forward racially: 'Have to let go of the past'
The largest county in a critical swing state, Fulton County, Georgia, has a task force investigating the possibility of financially compensating its Black population for past transgressions. The task force has been allocated $250,000 to investigate the county's past and its ties to slavery, examining whether it seized properties illegally from Black owners and used prison labor from the county's confinement facilities. The task force's due date for its recommendations is in October 2024, just days before that year's presidential election.

The task force's Vice Chair, Marcus Coleman, explained that investigations have uncovered past "land grabs" of Black owned areas in modern-day Buckhead, a wealthier uptown district of the city. However, there is no clear indication of what form the reparations might take, and the politics of the situation are highly divisive. While there are valid arguments opposing the idea of reparations, task force member Mike Russell explained that the group's job is to determine if people were treated unjustly and leave it to the commissioners to determine the remedy.

Forbes: The Green Cult And Energy Prices: The Theory Of “Effective Pain”
The Green Cult And Energy Prices: The Theory Of “Effective Pain”
The green cult, led by self-proclaimed climate change experts and policymakers, has been pushing for the end of fossil fuels in the name of saving the planet. However, their actions are resulting in higher costs and restrictions for citizens, such as the ban on oil and gas heating systems by the Scholz coalition government in Germany and the threatened loss of natural gas cooking stoves by the Biden Administration in the US. The theory of effective pain predicts that there will come a point when citizens will revolt against such burdens and punish the green cult at the polls. The time is nigh for the just and rational common man to claim their place in the world.

Spectator USA: The known unknowns of 2024
The known unknowns of 2024
Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, has officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. presidency in 2024. Surprisingly, he opted to make the declaration in an audio-only Twitter Spaces format with Elon Musk and David Sacks, which led to massive technical difficulties and a dull campaign speech. Despite the anticipation that DeSantis's announcement would give him a significant boost, Trump still has a 30 to 40 point lead in most polls. The uncertainties of the Democratic candidate, whether it's Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or an understudy, add to the confusion surrounding the next presidential race.

Fox News: The left hates parents’ groups so naturally they label these moms a ‘hate’ group
The left hates parents’ groups so naturally they label these moms a ‘hate’ group
The Southern Poverty Law Center has included education-focused groups in its list of hate and anti-government groups. Many of these groups were formed during the COVID-19 pandemic and advocate for transparency in schools to ensure education is suitable and non-political. A poll by Scott Rasmussen shows that 84% of voters believe parents should have access to all curriculum plans and materials used in their child's school, making it a bipartisan issue. The SPLC's labeling of groups advocating for transparency in education as hate groups discredits its lists, and parents and diverse groups in communities should demand transparency from local schools to ensure quality education for all.

Japan Faces Threat Of Women’s World Cup TV Blackout
Japanese broadcasters have yet to strike a broadcast deal with the governing body FIFA less than a month out from the Women's World Cup, raising fears of a TV blackout. Japan is the last major country where a broadcast deal has yet to be finalized. Fans in Japan can watch World Cup games online via the FIFA app but without Japanese commentary. TV rights for this year's tournament are being sold separately from the men's World Cup for the first time. Japanese Football Association chief Kozo Tashima and Japan coach Futoshi Ikeda express concerns over a potential blackout.
