Jones' claim does run to the courts’ jurisdiction, meaning his incarceration poses constitutional concerns. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented and argued that with other recent limits on appeals imposed by the court, there is no path to ask a federal judge to consider the innocence of potential innocents.
