Deadly gas explosion claimed lives of dozens of illegal miners inside South African gold mine in May
31 illegal miners are believed to have died in a gas explosion at a disused gold mine in South Africa. The mine in Free State province, which was operated by South Africa's largest gold mining company before it was closed in the 1990s, is thought to have been frequented by illegal miners. While the country’s old gold mining areas are rife with illegal prospecting, authorities are pointing to the need to rescind the practice, owing to the high number of fatalities associated with the practice.

Oversight Republicans seek answers from Biden admin on ‘flagrant abuse’ of parole to release migrants into US
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee are investigating the Biden administration's use of parole authorities to release hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into the US each year. They claim that the administration is using unlawful categorical parole that violates clear statutory language. The use of parole is reserved for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit. Supporters of the use of parole by the administration have noted that multiple administrations have used it to grant relief in various circumstances. However, the administration's broad use of parole sparked the ire of Republicans and conservative critics.

Biden Energy secretary reveals stock ownership of EV lobby group founding company
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm sold shares of up to $120,000 from six companies last month, including ride-share company Uber, following a flurry of sales on May 18. This was a month after Granholm testified under oath that she was "not owning individual stocks." She then informed the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on June 9 that she owned shares of six companies at the time of her testimony, without identifying which companies. Republicans are calling for an investigation into Granholm over her reporting errors.

Biden State Dinner: Joe's Lost, Hunter's Laughing, and Jill's Struggling With Her Dress
Hunter Biden attended a White House state dinner with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite his recent corruption scandal, and Joe Biden ignored questions about it. Jill Biden struggled down the stairs in her tight Ralph Lauren dress, while Joe looked confused and constantly needed guidance. Biden's actions suggest he's unfit to lead, and his incompetence is emboldening China and threatening the United States.

‘Let Them Eat Jalebi’: Hunter Schmoozes It Up At White House State Dinner Hours After IRS Whistleblower Report
Hunter Biden's "uncanny" ability to avoid severe criminal charges was on full display at the White House India State Dinner, despite recent testimony that alleged President Joe Biden's DOJ ran an interference campaign that aimed to thwart serious charges against Hunter. Allegations include Hunter threatening Chinese Communist Party officials over business while his father was present, attempting to expense prostitutes, and other financial crimes. An IRS whistleblower alleged that the Delaware US Attorney's Office, Department of Justice Tax, and Department of Justice provided preferential treatment and unchecked conflicts of interest in an important investigation of Hunter. Further investigation into Hunter's sources of money could reveal that the Biden family was profiting off the president's name and office by selling access to government and business leaders worldwide.

S.E. Cupp Triggered by Censure of Adam Schiff
Rep. Adam Schiff was censured by Republicans in the House of Representatives for his repeated lies about Trump-Russia collusion. S.E. Cupp, who claims to be a conservative, dismissed the censure as a waste of taxpayer money and accused Republicans of being more interested in revenge than problem-solving or legislating. However, Schiff abused his position as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee by making false claims that Trump colluded with Russia, despite no evidence being found. Cupp's defense of Schiff and attacks on Republicans suggests that she has abandoned her conservative beliefs.

The Epoch Times: Why I Left the Democratic Party in Two Examples
Why I Left the Democratic Party in Two Examples
Former Democratic Party member Roger L. Simon explains in an opinion piece why he left the party over 20 years ago. He remarks that he votes for the person, not the party, and why he could vote for a Republican, but never a Democrat. Simon highlights two events that led him to reconsider his membership of the Democratic Party, firstly the behavior of House Democrats when it comes to the censure of Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), and secondly, when an Iowa newspaper published a cartoon about the Vivek Ramaswamy presidential campaign, which smacked of deliberate ignorance (aka willful blindness), if not projection. Simon's piece ends with the idea that the American left has little idea of what the right is really like.

Elon Musk: Having a really rich guy on our side opens many possibilities
Elon Musk purchased Twitter and fired 90% of its staff for censoring conservative speech, exposing woke Left disinformation. Many Americans see wokeness as a scam to bully them into submission and reject COVID vaccines, LGBTQ+ propaganda, and mainstream media propaganda. A "quiet riot" is underway as Americans boycott woke corporations, causing sharp declines in stock prices. Musk is urged to buy these companies at a discounted rate and rebrand them with patriotic American values.

Zelensky signs bill BANNING books from Russia, Belarus
Ukrainian President Zelensky signed a bill banning books from Russia and Belarus to reduce their influence on Ukrainian publishing and distribution. The bill has come under criticism for violating the Ukrainian constitution, but was pushed through with support from a petition and prominent Ukrainian writers. The bill comes amid Ukraine's counteroffensive against Russia, with support from Western powers including the recently discovered $6.2 billion from an accounting error by the Pentagon. However, some US lawmakers have called for an audit or complete defunding of Ukraine in their conflict with Russia, citing concerns of corruption.

The View Hosts Pity Party and Political Commentary with Adam Schiff

The Epoch Times: President Biden Is Stronger Than Republicans Think
President Biden Is Stronger Than Republicans Think
Republicans question Biden's nomination for 2024 due to his age, incompetence of his Cabinet, and perceived failures in policies. However, they underestimate the nature of the modern Democrat Party, which is a coalition of different interest and ideological groups united by their mutual desire for tax dollars. From the left's perspective, Biden has been an outstanding President who is faithfully executing the liberal agenda and spending trillions of dollars accordingly. His foreign policy and national security agenda align with the left's worldview, and high gas prices are seen as necessary to push Americans towards buying electric cars.

Alcohol Bans in Alice Springs Sees Crime Rates Fall by a Third
Alcohol bans in Alice Springs have resulted in a 33% decline in rates of domestic violence since January. Northern Territory community groups had called for the reintroduction of bans following rising youth crime and anti-social behaviour, which came after the expiry of long-term alcohol bans in July. Currently, Aboriginal people living in remote communities are prevented from purchasing takeaway alcohol on Mondays and Tuesdays with limits to purchases during the week; communities also reverted back to alcohol dry zones in February. Alice Springs Mayor Matt Paterson urged the NT and Commonwealth governments not to reduce any alcohol restrictions.

New Jersey sues school districts over transgender notification policy, claims it poses ‘severe risk’ to kids
Three New Jersey school districts face "emergency" lawsuits from Attorney General Matt Platkin over new policies for transgender students. Policies adopted by Middletown, Marlboro, and Manalapan-Englishtown regional districts include notification to parents if a child is using a different name, pronoun or bathroom that contradicts their sex. Plaintkin says the policies "endanger the safety of transgender students" and are discriminatory against a protected class. The lawsuit seeks to halt the policies, which the administration claims violate New Jersey's Law Against Discrimination.

The American Mind: Meet Your New Allies
Meet Your New Allies
A large number of Muslim voters are now willing to turn to the GOP due to a long-simmering tension within the internal Muslim community and a recent statement from hundreds of Muslim scholars that upheld traditional marriage. Muslims had previously allied with the Left due to the expectation of being included in the rainbow coalition, despite clear injunctions of their faith on the LGBT issue. However, recent events such as Trump's presidency and the capture of Kabul by the Taliban have caused conservative commentators to speak with admiration about Muslims and their steadfastness in the face of the culture wars, potentially creating a new relationship between Islam and social conservatism.

Despite this, Canadian governments have not taken action, with calls for a public inquiry ignored. Canadian politics and certain parties continue with willful blindness, ignoring bad news as though it is non-existent rather than facing reality.

Forbes: Nikola Suspects Foul Play In Headquarters Fire—As Stock Slides Nearly 8%
Nikola Suspects Foul Play In Headquarters Fire—As Stock Slides Nearly 8%
Electric truck maker Nikola suspects foul play in a fire that broke out outside its Phoenix headquarters early Friday morning and damaged four of its electric trucks, though the cause of the fire has not been determined. The fire did not appear to affect the building itself. The company's shares have plummeted nearly 8% since the news broke.

Fire officials responded to the scene and were still working to extinguish the fire by cooling the trucks’ super-heated batteries as of 11 a.m. Friday morning. The company believes the fire was associated with a vehicle seen in the area outside its headquarters near where the fire started. This comes just over a week after the company announced plans to cut 270 employees, including 120 in Arizona, as part of its reorganization plan.

Forbes: Why Sports Empire Building Is On The Rise
Why Sports Empire Building Is On The Rise
Sports empires are becoming increasingly popular among investors, as it is seen as a smart way to bundle assets that have historically increased in value but aren’t tied to the economy or stock market. Teams that have won championships in the NFL, NBA, and NHL have proven to be good investments. Josh Harris, a managing partner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and NHL’s New Jersey Devils, together with his group, is buying the NFL’s Washington Commanders, increasing his sports empire to around $10 billion. Similarly, RedBird Capital owns a part of several sports teams, including AC Milan and Liverpool, and is in talks to invest in the Renault-owned F1 team Alpine. This shows that investing in sports empires is a smart way of bundling assets, and as sports leagues continue to relax their rules on ownership, the rise of sports empires is only going to escalate.

The Epoch Times: Global Sickle Cell Deaths Eleven Times Higher Than Recorded Reveals Lancet Study
Global Sickle Cell Deaths Eleven Times Higher Than Recorded Reveals Lancet Study
A Lancet study reveals the mortality burden of sickle cell disease (SCD) is nearly 11 times higher than previously recorded. The global death toll due to the inherited blood disorder rose to 376,000 from 34,400 cause-specific deaths in 2021. The study found a drastic 41.4% surge in the global SCD population to 7.74 million by 2021, primarily in the Caribbean and central sub-Saharan Africa. Despite national incidence rates staying constant, the number of babies born with this condition saw a global uptick of 13.7%. The study shows a disparity between cause-specific and total SCD mortality, with the disease rising to the 12th leading cause of death in children under five, compared to its 40th rank in cause-specific mortality.

The study highlights the disparity between the real mortality toll and previous records due to underdiagnosis and a lack of global knowledge on SCD. The disease, which mainly impacts people of African, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian descent, deforms red blood cells, leading to rigid, sticky sickle-shaped elements and persistent anemia. This leads to fatigue, making even daily tasks an uphill battle, with more severe effects ranging from infections and organ damage to premature death. The research suggests screening newborns, vaccinating young children with pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, and tracking neonates in sickle cell clinics as crucial practices to identify undiagnosed cases and offer early care to cut the mortality toll further.

An Unofficial Q&A on International Health Regulations
The World Health Organization (WHO) has proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) that could potentially reduce individual and state sovereignty. These proposals would give WHO officials extensive powers to mandate lockdowns, border closures, quarantine, testing, and vaccination requirements. The amendments also propose broader public health bureaucracy at the national, regional, and international levels, and new entities and platforms to monitor and ensure compliance.

Other themed nights, such as military appreciation and fighting against cancer, will still take place.
