Breitbart: Man Who Tased Police Officer on January 6 Sentenced to 12 Years
Daniel "DJ" Rodriguez, who tased a police officer during the January 6 Capitol Hill riot, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison and will have to pay restitution. He admitted to attacking officer Michael Fanone with a taser, causing him to lose consciousness and working to stop Congress from certifying the election results. Prosecutors argued that Rodriguez was one of the most violent defendants present at the riot, and Judge Amy Berman Jackson declared that he represented a "one-man army of hate."
The Epoch Times: Amnesty International Calls on UK to Stop Extradition of Julian Assange to US
Amnesty International expresses concern about UK authorizing extradition of Julian Assange to the US, where he will face charges under the Espionage Act. The organization fears he will face prolonged solitary confinement, which would violate the prohibition on torture or other ill-treatment, and calls for his release. Assange filed a new appeal on June 13, which will be heard at a public hearing before two new judges at the High Court. Assange’s supporters assert that his prosecution amounts to an assault on free speech and call for the US to drop the charges and protect journalism and press freedom.

Townhall: Onward, Christian Soldiers
Christians are often told to stay out of politics, but issues like abortion have become political in recent times. Everything has become political, and pastors need to speak out about all areas of life to teach the Bible. Some accuse Christians wanting to renew America of embracing Christian Nationalism, but that does not mean we should abandon attempts to renew the country. Religion and morality are indispensable supports to America's political prosperity according to the vision of America's founders.

Townhall: Science Should Not Be Adjudicated in a Courtroom
An Arkansas law banning puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical interventions for minors with gender dysphoria has been struck down by a federal judge, joining similar decisions in Indiana and Florida. The decisions highlight the politicization and lack of consensus in the scientific research involved, with conflicting studies claiming to show both positive and negative outcomes for patients. The issue is further complicated by the irreversible nature of many treatments, and concerns over parents, educators and medical professionals all pushing young patients towards transition.
Townhall: There Is No Short Path Back to Institutional Credibility
Dr. Peter Hotez refused to debate anti-vaxxers on a podcast because he thinks it would turn into a "Jerry Springer show". However, he argues that his credentials excuse him from this, when in reality, scientists have promoted garbage political nonsense and lost all credibility. Just 41% of Americans believe that the CDC is doing a good job, given its awful performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those claiming to speak in the name of science must now wade back into the arena to earn the public's trust.
